I am going to preface this by saying I do not know Moises Merino, Ruben Barrales or Hector Barajas. I know Hector and Ruben by reputation and similar to the lack of interaction with Jessica Patterson, despite my 20+ years within the CAGOP I continue to be stunned by the two separate worlds within it. Today’s email from Jessica Patterson – while designed to look like something special, was further evidence of the insider game rising up to wipe out the rest of the grassroots to cease total control of the CAGOP.

The issue I have with the latest email is that it is deceptive. The endorsements touted are from organizations whose front people are paid political consultants. It would be more accurate and fair for Mr. Merino to have cited his work with Jessica on specific campaigns, rather than deceptively making it look like “Independent” Hispanic / Latino groups are endorsing Jessica Patterson.

Start off with the fact that Moises Merino has been paid by California Trailblazers for consulting work. (see also teaching some classes)

Further – Moises Merino, Ruben Barrales and Hector Barajas are all open and public critics of the President. #NEVERTRUMPERS are all over the pedigree of Jessica Patterson, suggesting even more strongly why Mrs. Patterson had her social media professionally scrubbed.

Barrales and Barajas were also key players in the 2011 attempt to completely re-write the California Republican Party Platform. In particular, the effort to eliminate pro-life language, water down immigration policy and the near elimination of the gun issue.

After the 2018 Election, I’d imagine that demand for Mr. Moreno and Mr. Barrales to give presentations about winning elections will decline. It was a bad year for all of us in the paid political game.

The overriding point of this criticism of Jessica Patterson’s Chairman Campaign is this:

Grow Elect’s PAC is run by the San Diego Membership Director of the New Majority. The New Majority kicked in $230,000 to Trailblazers over the years. Howard Hakes (another New Majority officer) is on the Board of Trailblazers. Grow Elect does contribute money to a lot of candidates though, and my only criticism of them is the deception by Mrs. Patterson’s campaign to downplay the insider ties between them and other members of the Oligarchy of Controlled Failure. If you check Grow Elect’s website you will see Mario Guerra, Mitt Romney, Chad Mayes and a host of other #Nevertrumpers, many of whom have endorsed Jessica Patterson. (what a small world)

Moises Merino is a paid political consultant that has worked with Jessica Patterson on various campaigns. Making him appear otherwise is deceptive.

Once again, Mrs. Patterson’s Campaign continues to prove what an insider game her campaign for CAGOP Chairman is. This is not healthy for the California Republican Party as the same people that have presided over the disaster at the ballot box are fighting to strengthen their grip on the party.

Since its’ 2011 inception, the California Trailblazers has been present and participated in the net loss of 13 GOP Seats in the State Legislature. 28-19 in the Assembly, 15-11 in the State Senate. How low can we go? Since its’ inception in 2011, the California Trailblazers has paid $2.3 Million in Salaries against a paltry $142,000 in candidate contributions. Jessica Patterson’s haul has been over $1.2 Million.
