Fresh off my first post and efforts to inform the public about the David Nelson story, more details came in. And they are disturbing, and sadder still is how common people like this are in politics.

I am going to disclaim this post with two things, 1 the content is graphic and this is not for sensitive readers. 2, when I say the Roseville Firefighter’s Union “Bought” Nelson, I am referring to a pattern of behavior and actions that suggests an alliance that is unnatural or contrived. I cannot prove criminal behavior (such as an actual quid-pro-quo) at this time.

It is well-known that the Roseville Firefighter’s Union has declared war on the City of Roseville and it has boiled out into the open – including a recent social media post attacking the Building Industry Association, that included derisive comments about the Police Activities League and other public pro-law-enforcement groups because only they (Roseville Fire Union) represent Public Safety don’t you know…

As I stated in my previous post, I met David Nelson in 2007-2008, 19 years ago when he had a dry cleaning delivery business in Roseville/Rocklin. I witnessed his bizarre campaign for Rocklin City Council. After 2008, he dropped off of my radar for quite a while. I don’t keep track of who serves on local government committees or chamber of commerce stuff as governing is not my game, I am a campaign guy.

Several people have told me that David Nelson’s marriage was ended by an extramarital affair, and I was able to confirm that Mr. Nelson was indeed caught having sexual relations with a man he was not married to. The source has direct knowledge of the circumstances and Mr. Nelson. I did not write about this or repeat it until I had concrete proof of the circumstances from a source I knew. David knows the truth, which explains some even more disturbing events we will unfold as this post continues.

Contemporaneous with the time of his divorce, Nelson moved from Rocklin to Roseville, renting a place in Roseville. He also dumped the boyfriend he was having an affair with.

Somehow, Nelson managed to ingratiate himself to some local government types in Roseville… (quoting the previous blog:)

He “served” on both the Transportation Commission and the Community Standards and Visioning Commission about a decade ago. The experience for others in and around both of those was so negative that dozens of people still cite specific examples of insane behavior and drama-out-of-nothing that Nelson incited on both of those boards. Perhaps this is why so many people that are long time residents of Roseville and business leaders are passionate in their opposition to Nelson.

This week we were treated to this:

So David Nelson announced that he “Caught” Roseville City Staff “Electioneering”. Did they tell people to vote for Anne Carpenter? Did they tell people David Nelson is unstable and drinks too much? Well, I will leave it to Nelson’s own words. (Note that Nelson never produced the emails he said he has, perhaps I will FOIA them to see how badly he altered ahem edited their contents)

So – there are no references to “Vote for or against someone”, thus no electioneering. What it looks like is that David Nelson was lying about something the City of Roseville was doing in the course of advancing his Fire-Union-Led agenda and the City Staff had a meeting about it. What is also clear is that the Fire Union has a leak in Roseville City Staff and are playing for keeps in their attempts to win their contract war and quest for binding arbitration against the City of Roseville.

Also understand a key thing, Nelson destroys everyone he gets close to on any government body he works on. Some of you may think this is blowing up government, soooo sexy or cool, it is not. It is psychotic. It is just part of a lifelong pattern for someone I believe is a very sick man. It is not blowing up government either as Nelson has proven he will prostitute himself to political interests when it suits him.

City Staff responded to the lie which set Nelson off. Everything sets Nelson off, just ask some of his exes what he’s like. Like his ex-wife:

Chelsea Lydell is David Nelson’s Ex-Wife, and she is also Deaf. She recently cut a Facebook Video and the other person tagged in the video is a homeless advocate Anglican Pastor who is based in Roseville. This is key because it validates a key fact laid out in the video.

Here is a summary of what Lydell said:

In 2023, Nelson stopped paying child support – which may or may not be available in public county records.

In 2024, Lydell was Bankrupt and homeless due in no small part to Nelson stopping paying Child support. In addition, the circumstances caused by Nelson and a brutal (sexual? Home Invasion) assault as described by Lydell caused mental health issues.

This leads your intrepid blogger to conclude that Nelson took advantage of the circumstances, aka the Bankruptcy he caused + the violent assault and mental health issues caused by both to go to a judge and get a protective order mandating all of her visits with their children to be supervised. Bankrupt your ex-wife, capitalize on her suffering from an assault and then take the kids. Pay attention Roseville Fire to what you bought.

DID DAVID NELSON TAKE ADVANTAGE OF DRIVING HIS EX-WIFE IN TO HOMELESSNESS + CONTEMPORANEOUS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES TO DISCREDIT HIS EX-WIFE, KNOWING HE WAS PLANNING RUN(S) FOR PUBLIC OFFICE? WAS THE PLAN TO ATTACK HER WITH THE LEGAL STUFF, TO USE WHEN DETAILS OF HIS AFFAIR AND DIVORCE CAME OUT?

Since Lydell is Deaf and had to move to Portland, this makes seeing the children impossible. Another consequence of what Nelson did was to cause her to miss her own Sister’s wedding because she could not be in the same venue as the children without supervision which is difficult even for someone not disabled.

I wonder if the people that endorsed and donated to David Nelson knew any of this. But the pattern of behavior is consistent with some of the worst personality disorders out there. I know a lot of the swamp people on Nelson’s donor list, I am sure they’d be horrified if they knew any of the details. They should ask for their money back and pull their support from Nelson immediately.

In addition, more than one person has made it clear Nelson has plans to run for higher office once elected to Roseville Council. I wonder if the Roseville Firefighter’s Union realizes that Nelson ain’t stickin’ around long once he gets what he wants?

The whole pattern is one of willful, deliberate action. The nature of Nelson’s “Relationship” with the Roseville Firefighter’s Union is also something widely discussed, and this also spilled out into the open:

There is a direct reference to David Nelson having a current sexual relationship with a member of the Roseville Firefighter’s Union. Straight Up David – who is it and for how long?

While this Facebook comment makes a graphic sexual comment at the end (something about putting the hose inside him) – it says what people have been talking about widely. This comment was left on the Roseville Firefighter Union Social Media attack on Anne Carpenter.

If David Nelson is having sex ahem dating a member of the firefighter’s union, he literally has a conflict of interest and potentially could not vote on their contract or the binding arbitration he is alleged to have promised them in exchange for their support.

Now the Fire Union has an even bigger mess on their hands, what did they know about David Nelson’s relationship(s) and when did they know it? How did that endorsement really happen?

On one hand, I get why the Placer GOP endorsed Nelson, he has the label. On so many other hands I can see why this is one of the bigger mistakes they have made in the last decade. They should revoke their endorsement of him asap!
