Hypocrisy, thy Names are Holly Andreatta and Ben Brown. Swamp and Developer Money Pouring Into Troubled Lincoln Council Incumbents

by | Oct 27, 2026 | 2026 Elections, City of Lincoln | 0 comments

Holly Andreatta got crushed 71-28 in the Spring, attempting to run for Placer County Supervisor. Her opponent, Re-Elected County Supervisor Shanti Landon was assailed by Holly and her crew repeatedly for getting “developer money”. Holly was also highlighted in the local media for a rather aggressive confrontation with Landon. At the time Landon said she wanted a police report in case “something like this happens again”. Landon was either clairvoyant or just has a lot of common sense. In the spring, Holly was highlighted with her very own Halloween costume kit:

Apparently, this Red Pantsuit was the attire of choice for both Police-Report-Inducing “campaign” events in the life of Holly Andreatta

Apparently those “evil developers” forgot about who they just stopped from getting elected Placer County Supervisor. When you take a look at Holly Andreatta’s Campaign Finance Report you see a whole bunch of swampy and developy donors to her campaign…

United Auburn Indian Community – a hard-left local tribe that runs the gigantic casino right outside the Lincoln city limits. $2500

The Firefighters State Union – because I guess higher taxes are cool now (Holly helped put a massive 1% Sales Tax increase on the ballot). $5000

I also see a couple Sacramento swampy political consultant types on the list.

Later on the North State Building Industry Association chimed in with $5500

The California Association of Realtors (known as CREPAC) $5900

Ben Brown was behind Holly Andreatta’s supervisor campaign, he sits on the Lincoln Council with her and has endorsed her. They appear to be running some sort of joint effort and Brown has not received to same amounts of direct money that Andreatta has – but it is there nevertheless.

The anti-developer candidates are now rolling in developer money. Why? I will get to that in a bit.

The same development community is also spending gobs of money on Holly Andreatta and Ben Brown – despite Holly’s near psychotic nature – in Independent Expenditures. The reports show:

Brookfield, Taylor Morrison, Fieldstone Communities, Domyko Taylor Holding Group, Toll Brothers and Cresliegh Homes dumped money into expenditures for the two formerly anti-developer incumbents.

Was it putting a massive 1% sales tax on the ballot that did it? I mean, Lincoln is paying today’s bills with one-time developer fees. These developers have to know that Lincoln won’t be able to deliver services at some point, as the massive sales tax won’t produce what everyone hopes it will. (Hint, municipal taxes always underperform)

There are even a smattering of swampy PACs and outfits related to development on the report for the independent expenditure committee: “Sacramento Area Policy Committee”, DPFG, LLC, MacKay and Somps Civil Engineers and others hit the reports as well.

So far this outfit has spent $21,000 in “digital ads” and has sent two pieces of mail valued around $8800 each, one into each district.

While Holly Andreatta is making more local news headlines, with Ben Brown in tow enabling her – your intrepid blogger is looking at over $100,000 total that has been poured into keeping the two of them on the Lincoln City Council!

There is a lot of development coming to Lincoln. The fundamental problem Lincoln, CA has is that they have no jobs to keep people in Lincoln. The working people commute and there goes a lot of the sales tax base. Roseville and Rocklin were able to turn that corner some 20 years ago – Lincoln never adjusted which is one of the reasons why Lincoln is constantly in trouble financially. Holly Andreatta and Ben Brown have been asleep at the switch making the problem worse.

Your intrepid blogger has been told that Lincoln is considering reducing the open space requirement on developments from 40% down to 30% or even less. What this means is if you have 100 acres, you will be able to put houses on 70 of them instead of 60. I guess $100K re-electing one incompetent incumbent and another that has proven to be unstable/neurotic/crazy (you pick) is a small price.

It’s clear that the swampy and developy donors have made a decision to double down on drama – as long as it is good for business. I can’t say that I am shocked to see a transactional decision like this, but it has made hypocrites out of a ton of people.

But as I see it based on what I know of the City of Lincoln’s finances, I am not sure that the City of Lincoln can provide police, fire, infrastructure and other services long term to these new developments? Do those people funding this effort even care, or is it just a simple case of build it and worry about everything else later?

The once-conservative core group of Holly and Ben Brown supporters assail the small amount of money your intrepid blogger has directed while ignoring the avalanche of developer money.

The once-conservative core group of Holly and Ben Brown supporters are now pushing a massive sales tax increase measure.

Perhaps they are running this program too:

In the meantime, we have been treated to even more hysterical drama and insanity that the City of Lincoln so desperately needs to be free of. And, the BIA / Development Community are now funding it!

Holly Andreatta and Ben Brown – the candidates of the swamp, developers, drama and a massive tax increase. The world is on its’ ear.
