What could possibly go wrong? The Law Firm making thousands in retainers from the CAGOP is also the Campaign Contact and Treasurer for the C.A.P.E. PAC that is attacking Andrew Kotyuk.

IT is one thing to be a paid consultant who does a job for candidates. It is still another to be on retainer with the CAGOP for years and then perform professional services for a group of donors that want to destroy the CAGOP’s chances in AD-42.

See this mailer – the address on the mailer is 455 Capitol Mall Suite 600 as I confirmed with the person that sent it to me. This is the address for Bell, McAndrews and Hiltack, LLP. This mailer is being paid for by the Realtors, Prison Guards, Building Industry Association and a smattering of Drug Companies. While the morally and politically corrupt William “Bill” Brough has a right to a defense, the Attorney who responded to my complaints against him was none other than Ashlee Titus. Titus sits on the podium at CAGOP Conventions and appears to be a campaign finance specialist. It is my understanding that she is on phone calls with the CAGOP’s Board of Directors when they are doing endorsements and party business. This is a problem.

Let me be perfectly clear – I do not believe that this law firm has done anything illegal. I believe that what they are doing is a pure conflict of interest. I also believe that they need to choose between Representing the California Republican Party and doing work for all these PAC’s hunting Republicans in to extinction. The fact that CAGOP leaders have not taken a look at this needs to change.

The California Republican Party pays them a retainer – yet they are also:

#1 The Treasurer / Point of Contact for the C.A.P.E. PAC that is attacking CAGOP Endorsed Andrew Kotyuk in AD42

#2 The legal representative for William “Bill” Brough in his FPPC Campaign Finance Cases as evidenced by payments made and public records I have in my possession.

The CAGOP has endorsed Laurie Davies in AD73 versus William “Bill” Brough. In essence, this Law Firm is working against the interests of the CAGOP’s endorsed candidate by defending William “Bill” Brough.

How is neither #1 or #2 not a conflict of interest?

This law firm was also the attorney for Charles T Munger Jr’s Spirit of Democracy PAC which frequently hunted down conservatives and spent money attacking county central committees. So there’s the moral outrage for Conservatives.

Once again the weak leadership of the CAGOP is allowing all kinds of mayhem to occur, but remember, we were supposed to give them total control of the CAGOP because Travis Allen and Steve Frank would be a disaster. It sure looks like the Suicide of the GOP is indeed a Murder, Murder by the people making thousands off of it.
