I received information that indicates a Sergeant was on duty one day in the not too distant past and he was out on patrol. Aka “10-8”.
Apparently an irate citizen can in to the front lobby and the non-sworn staffer was being verbally abused. The citizen demanded to speak to someone in charge. Both Lt Smith and Lt Magnan were on duty and in the station. They did nothing.
The Sergeant on the other hand, ended up getting an email sent to him by one of the aforementioned Lt’s castigating him for not being available. (See how that works?)
The email I received has several neat nuggets in it. (I am not posting it in its’ entirety in order to keep the source from getting burned. BTW – Lake Elsinore Station, before you commission a Witch Hunt, I didn’t get it from anyone in that station. The RSO itself is full of leaks.
The Sergeant that the LT’s attempted to shame with a group email responded with several devastating facts that belie the complete meltdown of discipline in ranks:
- The Sgt pointed out that he was in the field because several in Sheriff’s Admin indicated that the “Watch Commander” should be in the field.
- They indicated that the staffer attempted to reach the Sgt. on the WC Cell Phone.
- The WC cellphone did not work.
- The Sgt. Indicated to the Captain, Captain Anne that the Cellphones were malfunctioning and obselete.
- As the irate citizen started becoming so enraged he was spitting on the glass of the station – Lt. Smith and Magnon continued sitting in their respective offices while the now freaked out staffer was finally able to reach the Sgt. who was several miles away from the Station.
- The Sgt. pointed out that there were more armed people in the station at the time of the incident than were out in the field.
- The Sgt. pointed out that there is a need for updated cell phones that actually work every time they are needed.
The response from the Sgt. was needlessly defensive because of the way the embarrassed, lazy Lt’s handled the situation. (A conclusion I have drawn from the facts laid out in the info I received)
What amounted to a request from the SGT for help diffusing a difficult situation at the Station ended up turning in to an inquisition that netted the reply all email string.
Then Lt. Smith chimes in to finish the thread saying: “This is the first I have heard of any issues with any of the WC Cell Phones…” Either Captain Anne ignored his men or the Lt. is lying through his keyboard. I’d lay odds Lt. Smith is high on the Stan Sniff Captain’s list.
This is the Riverside Sheriff’s Office, folks. I sometimes get this info and remind myself how good I have it in the City of Roseville.

Clown Ops continues and the proof keeps popping up here. Broken equipment being brought to the attention of descicion makers sounds familiar. Admin not admitting shit is broken sounds familiar. An upset troop coming forward in frustration over broken equipment sounds familiar. How much you want to bet that the Elsinore WC’s will have a spa king new IPhone this week. Hell, Sniff will probably put it on Facebook and y’all about “Happy News” like he did earlier this week with his budget bullshit. Maybe he will forget to wear an undershirt and look like a bag of ass again. Sniff your video was a train wreck and you look like a soup sandwich. Just go back to locking yourself in your office like you have been doing lately. You suck.
You could substitute any almost station for Lake Elsinore and this story would apply. Once Sgt’s promote to Lt under Stanley they automatically separate themselves from the real work we do. Magnan hiding in his office is no surprise, Smith you are better than that, come on man! Here is proof that leadership is no longer a requirement for promotion. You two failed our employee and in turn the department. The captain failing to lead is also no surprise because not one captain is allowed to “run” their stations. All decisions are made, or disappear, on the second floor.
As for the comment about “Stanley the soup sandwich,” that moron has never worn a damn T-shirt as required by our uniform manual. But hell, he doesn’t care about our general orders, patrol manual, or code of ethics so we shouldn’t be surprised. Stanley please get out before you embarrass us any more.
Dan Shays, you are right Sniff doesn’t care about general orders. His association with convicted felons and drug dealers are his ” Soup of the Day “. FYI… Sniff will be in Moreno Valley for the 4th of July on a parade float sponsored by MVPD….. Everyone should go and yell ” Sniff protects child molesters.”
Lake Elsinore use to be one of the best station’s in the Department, but it has turned into one of the worst when Hollingsworth and Smith took over. Administration has said,”unless your working on a Personnel Investigation, Sergeants are required to be out in the field 10-8. So the sergeant is out in the field as required to supervise the patrol deputies when an irate citizen shows up at the station. You only have one sergeant as the W/C on each shift, which is unacceptable because they can’t be at the station and in the field at the same time. Lieutenant Kevin Smith is another one of Stan’s tools, he has no sense of humor, is always looking to pass the buck to avoid responsibility because he’s looking to make Captain, and is always blaming the Sergeants for his failures in leadership. Lieutenant Smith was not a good sergeant when he was at the Perris Station, and could not get along with the other Sergeants, which is why he was the Station Admin. Sergeant. The troops have no respect for Lieutenant Smith because nothing positive ever comes out of his office, all he does is chastise everyone through his emails. Lieutenant Smith has turned into the exact same person he hated as a Deputy, but won’t admit it because that would mean he made a mistake, and as a Lieutenant, he don’t make mistakes. And when in doubt, blame the sergeant for any mistakes made, “Right Kevin.” Captain Anne, everyone knows you have supported Lieutenant Smith in the past, even when he was in the wrong, but there comes a time when you have to cut someone lose for the good of the Station because if you don’t, he will take you down with him, and you will have no one to blame but yourself. Lieutenant John Magnan, you get a pass on this one, just don’t let it happen again, your a better man than that.
Ohhhhhh boy! Let me start with this. LT. Smith, that back lot Apple eating turd. That guy is a needle dick pencil pusher! That mother fucker is afraid of his shadow! Mr. tough with his hard working troops but with others, a complete PUSSY! He came into briefing not so long ago and told deputies, you’re highly paid secretaries. He had the nerve to jam deputies up but never worked a full 40 hour work week. Always saw him driving his department issued car out of the back lot around 3. Not sure how that incompetent moron got promoted.
This is almost every station in the department i bet especially in the fucking desert. The Sgt’s aren’t seen outside of the station hardly ever you only see them in briefing and at eow. Thats not all there fault because they get stuck approving these bullshit reports us “highly paid secretaries” get stuck with rather than doing police work. Oh ma’am I’m sorry someone stole your lawn gnome and you have no leads to give us, let me spend the next three hours completing these ridiculous forms Sniff requires. Send the non sworn CSO’s to take these bullshit reports ? No way because the two hot ones are to busy sucking ass of a certain Sgt and complain when they have to do real work. Let me see if I got this straight, Kevin Smith is the Station Administration Lieutenant, with over 25 years of service whose office is adjacent to the front lobby where the incident occurred, along with the Station Administration Sergeant, whose office is also adjacent to the front lobby. In addition, there is the Traffic Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant with various detectives also in the building. But instead of utilizing his available resources to resolve this problem, Lieutenant Smith decided to call the patrol sergeant out from the field back to the station to address this dilemma. Does anyone see a problem with this? And Kevin Smith was given a command because of his forward thinking abilities. So who do you blame, Lieutenant Smith for being promoted beyond his abilities, or the person that supported his promotion to command (Zach?). I have to agree with the targeted Sergeant, Lieutenant Smith is avoiding responsibility of command with his poor decisions. I guess Kevin Smith must have dozed off during that portion of the class while attending the Sherman Block Leadership Institute.
C’mon Kevin, grow a pair…if you’ve got a whinny ass complainant in the lobby giving your non-sworn shit over some BS complaint and the patrol sergeant is in the field, go stand up for your people! Don’t let some asshole who thinks they are entitled to speak to someone in charge berate your non-sworn people. Go use your skills and listen to the idiot and de-conflict the situation. If the asshole makes a complain on you and you get PERS’ at least you wont have to review it.
I’m sure after listening to the complaint, you’ll be able to kiss it off to some Sergeant to take care of…
Bottom line, don’t these assholes give your non-sworn a hard time. They don’t get paid to take shit, sworn ( you and your sergeants do).
In order for Lieutenant Smith to confront the complaining party in the lobby, that would mean Kevin Smith would have to leave his office before lunchtime and show some initiative as a leader. You are asking for a lot from Lieutenant Smith. It’s easier for him to just sit in his office and collect his paycheck and blame others than to actually care about his line staff.

Why would he do that when it’s easier for him to sit in his chair and manage the troops from his office. That way he can collect his paycheck while sitting at his desk and blame others instead of actually going out and caring about his subordinates and their well being.

This piece of shit station had broke down shit for years and nothing was ever done about it but once this blog started writing about it all of a sudden we got new computers and printers and even new flooring. We are all busting our ass getting held over and yellow days slammed with report after report and they think buying new flooring for the briefing room fixes shit. Nah it’s all part of the dog and pony show to tell people the blog is bullshit everything is great here. It not it’s all jacked up. But don’t ask the two Kardashian sisters to fucking do anything but juggle Franks nuts or they will bitch and moan. Don’ttake away there selfie time or they will bat there pretty eyes and shake those asses to get your ass in trouble. Im over this shit. Try for a transfer out of this place and wait and wait and wait. The two decent sergeants we had that gave a damn retired. I am truly happy for the right people who move up the ranks. Hell, I’ve had trainees who are now sergeants and above and I’m happy for many of them.
When Kevin promoted he seemed to forget where he came from and acted like he no longer knew who you as he moved up the ladder. It was as if he has a stick so far up his ass he would be better off being a Popsicle.
When I saw this transition, I stopped having any respect for this disgrace of a human being. Now that he’s in the skybox, Kevin has really moved himself far, far away from reality. His goal is all for himself (hey, sounds like he’d be a good fit for this current 2nd Floor!).

But if anybody questions his decisions, he remembers you come time for promotability and special assignments. How many people have you screwed over on your way to the top Kevin? How many careers have you sidetracked for your own selfish desires because you felt threatened by their abilities. Although you won’t be allowed to disassemble your gun, clean it and reassemble it in your office at the Academy like you did in your office at the Lake Elsinore Station (the sound of you racking you sidearm numerous times scared the crap out of everyone).
