Unfortunately, the 12/31/1977 incident that resulted in a lawsuit against the City of Cochella is not a flashback, it is also a reality. This is a Desert Sun article from 9/18/1978.
Sniff is going back in time to campaign, so your intrepid blogger decided to oblige him.
It appears that Mr. Sniff’s temper, which your blogger has heard about in spades has been in action since at least 1977.
It also informs us all as to why Sniff has a proclivity to cover up malfeasance as well. It appears that he was able to get by with little or no consequences for his actions as a patrol deputy.
We’ve heard stories that Sniff, who campaigns on his military service (which pre-dates this brutality episode) also avoided combat, going to Vietnam and was a reservist.
Maybe a little more research in to Sniff in the 1970’s is in order?
Things that make you go hmmm…

Unfortunately, that has to be a photo-shop. In 1977, it was required to wear a badge and name plate for identification. The pictured individual is wearing neither. LASD 108RS.
Those are new images of the uniforms Sniff is trying to pass. Funny fun fact for Friday on a Tuesday is Danny Young is putting together the PowerPoint and presentation to the second floor for this uniform and it was assigned to him by Ret. Chief Kennedy Smith and coincidently uniforms were the topic of the day for Lt oral or written questions. See how this works. The deputy pictured also works at ben clark center with Lt young.
Danny Young is a waste of a PCN. Those employed by RSO will know what that is.
Dayum!!! Perris Sgt tell us how you really feel.
