I was leaked a copy of the internal report related to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Investigator exam cheating scandal. Allow me to do the job that the Desert Sun did not do – and that is to tell the whole story beyond Cornett and Colmer who were named by the Desert Sun. The cover-up of this was massive and the Desert Sun barely scratched the surface of what happened. I am not going to publish a entire copy of the documents I received in order to protect people from further retaliation by Stan Sniff.

Remember – we broke the cheating scandal 1/22/2018, several weeks before the Desert Sun Did. See a follow up piece here on 2/12/2018 related to the scandal.

I read the entire 80 page report. Some 26 employees of the department are named. About half straight out admitted fault. The half that did not used hair-splitting nuance to try and dance around what they did. If I was their boss, I’d have all of their files flagged for a moral hazard and would be documenting them for termination (Lt. Mark Bostrom would have more work than he knew what to do with). It is clear that almost everyone involved (there are a few people in this report that appear innocent of cheating) knew what they were doing and that it was wrong, whether they admitted it or not.

I have also noticed that a lot of the people that work for PSB, aka the “Rat Squad” have since been promoted. It is clear as I have been learning about Sheriff Stan Sniff’s department that he uses the scum of the earth (most of whom are from the sewer of the Rat Squad) as a breeding ground for ethically-challenged butt-monkeys to promote to senior management. The more ethically flawed and easy to control, the better. The honest ones are usually terminated with extreme prejudice.

Please note that Katheryn Quezada, who was the original whistle-blower has been promoted twice since she rolled over on her fellow deputies. Promoting self-serving whistle blowers is a standard procedure within the department furthering the decimation of morale. It is reputed that Quezada’s reasons for coming forward were not reasons of conscience, rather that her promotions were the primary nexus.

Several people stick out from the report I received:

Based on what I read, Lance Colmer got thrown under the bus and made to take the fall. Contrast this to Robert Cornett, another central figure, who has since been promoted. Robert Cornett is reputed to be an odd man (and a stone cold racist) who has a complete crime scene tatooed on his back. Sounds like a prototypical member of Stan Sniff’s Team.

It is clear to this blogger that Colmer tried to help a colleague and got turned in to the central figure in order to whitewash the scandal. Of interest is that John Anderson, of Gabe Dennington fame hated Lance Colmer and wanted to destroy him, it is reputed that Brandon Ford and John Anderson worked that angle hard in this case.

Joshua Hephner – guilty as sin, yet was combative and uncooperative with the investigation. The investigators added dishonesty to his investigation file. If I was his boss, I’d have given him max punishment and lined him up for termination. If I was a defense attorney, I’d toss him around like a rag doll. Note that the investigation added lying as a cause for action against Hephner.

Saykham Iemsisanith and Kent Eckenrode – their stuff was forwarded several times to several people. I am sure they got some sort of discipline, but their names are dotted all over this report.

David Komins – guilty as sin, yet called Kent Eckenrode a liar in a lame attempt to save his own skin. See my comments about Hephner.

Jason Gore – This one is a big deal. He is married to Jessica Gore who is Stan Sniff’s executive assistant who works alongside Yvonne “Eggplant” Varela on the second floor. (I never knew her damn name until recently) Jason Gore’s name is all over the report. Unsurprisingly, he refused to admit guilt, even though it is clear he got “help” from three different people including Brandon Frank who freely admitted he violated department procedure. There is a widely held opinion that one of the primary reasons for covering up this cheating scandal was to keep Gore’s name out of the public eye. Connecting Gore to the scandal would have landed the scandal in Stan Sniff’s office. Welcome. Gore is reputed to have quietly gotten some minor discipline related to this.

the REPORT Page 2

and REPORT Page 3 of Jason Gore’s Interview. (the pages are linked individually – so click each link)

Cole Simon – got caught in more than one lie. His name appears repeatedly in the report as a central figure. This guy should not be on the force anymore, period.

Cole Simon called the investigators liars, and earned a notation that his investigation was expanded to include dishonesty.

You can read about Cole Simon REPORT Page 1,

REPORT Page 2,

Page 3 of REPORT (where the dishonesty notation is)

and Page 4 where he emailed following the interview to apologize for his outburst. (the pages are linked individually – so click each link)

Why the Desert Sun ignored Cole Simon and Jason Gore is beyond me. I’ve been told that the Desert Sun warned Sheriff Stan Sniff that the article was coming out and some sort of deal was made specifically to keep Jason Gore out of the story. So, even after the cover-up was unraveled, the attempts to contain the damage continued.

It is also clear from reading the report that several leads were not followed up on, (As I counted far more than 26 names in the accounts of the report) giving complete credence to speculation that the investigation was halted before it ran its’ course. Even worse is that it is also well-known that Undertaker Diyoyo wrote the reports on behalf of the investigator whose name is on them. (Lacy Stutler) Skilled observers will notice that none other than Captain Leonard Purvis signed off on the report. (I was unable to post proof of this without burning my sources) This is extremely unusual and is actually unheard of. No one I have talked to in the department has ever had a report signed off on by a Captain. It is the job of a Sergeant. Understanding the significance of this is a key to understanding the levels of control and cover-up. Captain Leonard Purvis was involved in the cover-up up to his spindly neck. I also take note that then Captain Brandon Ford is the most senior member of the Rat-Squad listed on the report. (Remember Ford appears in stories about the corruption of the department regularly)

Beyond the laundry list of ethical and management failures that have characterized the Stan Sniff tenure as Riverside Sheriff – the cover up of this cheating scandal would be reason enough by itself to fire Stan Sniff.

Thanks to the honest employees of law enforcement, the truth is coming out and people are reading this blog in record numbers. We will continue writing the stories until Stan Sniff is reduced to a political footnote.

  1. And now…..the rest of the story. Aaron Park, you old scallywag, you did it again! You lifted the covers and exposed things that even the Desert Sun tried to leave covered up. I understand that Inv. Lance Colmer, who had absolutely nothing to gain in this, got his colon cleansed by way of “discipline” of a several thousand dollar pay reduction because he told the truth about his part in this fiasco. In contrast, it’s obvious to any reader that Mike Cornett flat out lied during his interview, and he received no discipline at all as his culpability was found “not sustained.” In fact, Cornett has since been promoted to Master Investigator, even though everyone was aware of his flat out lies. I’m sure Cornett became a loyal Sniff supporter after being spared and then promoted.

If Lacy Stutler (previously from Lake Elsinore Station) was the primary investigator in this case, that would make sense why people like Mike Cornett and the other people involved from Lake Elsinore station, received no discipline at all.

Anyone who knows anything about Sniff knows that he read this entire investigation and he was the one who decided where it would end and who would get discipline. Sniff’s quandary was if he terminated anyone, he would have to terminate many. If he let them off the hook, he stood a chance to win them over as supporters for his upcoming election. Anyone who doesn’t think Sniff doesn’t think about his next election in every decision he makes is only fooling themselves. He’s a politician to the core, and corrupt at that.

Aaron Park, Stanley is really going to hate you for this. I’ll bet he’s screaming curse words at you in German right now!!

  2. Everyone in this entire department knows this was covered up for political reasons, just like everything else about Stanley the fraud. I had to call a good friend this morning and show him the interviews since he has intensive experience in these matters. His response, “thats it!” Interviews concerning a regular not at fault traffic accident are more detailed and thorough than this garbage. It is also common knowledge in the department that under the Sniff/Purvis/Bostrom regime, almost all investigations were changed digitally after the investigators wrote them. This is exactly what it smells like, a whitewash coverup.

Now two places where I must comment about your article. Rumor over the years has always been that Colmer was made the scapegoat. He has a very good reputation amongst his peers, attorneys, and supervisors. EXCEPT John Anderson did not like him, probably out of a little jealousy I assume. If you, Aaron, were able to easily figure out Colmer was the scapegoat, then the investigator should be ashamed of herself for not standing up for one of her peers.

Second, I must disagree with you about Quezada. I say GREAT JOB Katheryn.

  3. Shays is correct referring to “Stanley the Fraud,” and Paul is correct when he infers that sniff lives his political agenda 24/7. Every single thought he has is about how it will hurt or benefit HIS political persona. The Sniff administration is a complete house of cards. You have an immoral, unethical tyrant promoting self serving underlings in order to facilitate another layer of cards.

Stanley the Fraud is now in complete panic mode because his true legacy is rising to the top of his scum filled tenure as sheriff. Instead of this 70 year old fraud retiring so the good folks in the department can clean up the mess, he orders the likes of Purvis, Wood, Vest, Diyoyo, and others to find the leaks, punish the whistleblowers, and stop the bleeding.

It is never about doing what is right, it is always about doing what is best for Stanleys political career, and the careers of the unethical people below him.

  4. I fucking love it. I used to work at Lake Elsinore Station and everyone knows how I feel about Cornett. I meet with my legal team in a few. Aaron you are the best I wish I could send you Cornett’s lies.

  5. Investigator Lance Colmer is the real hero here. He was the only one involved that was not cheating and became the scapegoat for the witch hunt. All the others should have been fired for their involvement, as they had everything to gain from receiving the test questions. Why would Investigator Colmer need test questions, when he is already an Investigator. The only tjong he is guilty of is attempting to mentor a Deputy “who had already took the test”
The untheical people involved were just another example of the culture created by Stanley and his merry crew of Executive Staff. They all cheated or lied to get their positions and continue with this behavior for others they want to groom. There needs to be a cleansing and change of this behavior. Vote Chad Bianco, and make RSO great again.

  6. Leave CTC as you finish a promotion exam and what do you find? Department members clumped together sharing the test questions or oral board answers. It’s human nature and cannot ever be stopped. Is this cheating? Well, if you’re ordered NOT to discuss the questions, I’d say at the very least it’s an ethical issue. But the fine line is the study groups where past questions, scenarios, etc. are openly shared. If this is cheating, then you may as well revoke 80-90% or the department’s ranks.

I’m sure Lance wishes he had never looked at that note or shared it. Although already promoted and he had nothing to gain, he ended up being the department’s piñata, was transferred, and was reduced to making a lower salary for a few pay periods. Overall, Lance is a good guy and great investigator. He works his cases with fervor and provides the DA a solid, no-question-this person-is-guilty case.

But where is the harsh punishment to the turds who actually admitted to cheating or playing a word shell game with investigators? And add to the mix Sniffle’s admin marionettes (or puppets being constructed at the time) signing off reports and later halting the investigation because the scandal was far and wide! Of course it’s Sniff’s current playbook and we cannot allow this form of corruption to go further.

The entire 2nd Floor needs to be cleansed. These turds need to be put on notice when Bianco is sheriff. The marionettes need to know the department is tired of their nonsense and voters will no longer tolerate a murky, non-transparent regime that does what it wants, shakes and takes money from greasy, dirty hands, and get away with it.

SNIFF, YOU ARE SURROUNDED! COME OUT OF THE SECOND FLOOR WITH YOUR HANDS UP AND CONTINUE WALKING!! Seriously, there is no shame (except the shame you earned) in knowing your so called leadership is sinking.

And this tattoo of a crime scene. Sounds like Cornett and Pecker Ray Wood got tattoos together. Wonder what else Pecker Ray shares with Cornett? Racial rhetoric? Manhood measuring? Wives?

  7. Anyone remember the cheating scandal at the academy a few years back? PSB got it… they dismissed the class in question, and then pretended like they didn’t have information on cheating from MANY classes prior to the one that was caught. Nothing to see here, just cadets cheating on POST exams and RSO doing nothing about it (as usual) because it would have made them look bad. I’m SURE they notified the DA about the integrity issues of all the deputies from those prior classes.

  8. Lance Colmer got screwed, it was 100% clear. Cornett was far dirtier in this deal and he got promoted. So did Jason Gore. So did Quezada. I can not cut Quezada slack on this especially with the rapidity with which she was promoted after this.

The almost obsessive focus on Colmer who did not actually cheat (he’d already made the rank) made it clear beyond any shadow of a doubt what was done. Then, learning that Jason Gore got promoted anyway after being up his neck – coupled with seeing Brandon Ford as ranking PSB rat with Lenny Purvis signing off on the report made it so easy to see what happened, even Joe Narciso could figure it out.

  9. It is unfortunate that our so called leaders don’t practice what they preach. As I read these articles and comments, I am amazed how accurate the information is. When employees rise to fight the bullying, favoritism and intimation; speaks volumes of the the Department’s lack of leadership. A majority, not all have no trust in the chiefs. Very sad…

The names of the cheaters mean nothing because they survived this internal investigations. Those who lied should have been put on the Brady list. It sounds like they should all thank Jason Gore or his wife for the preferencial treatment.

  10. All of these fools knew what they did was wrong and they all thought they would get away with it. Because of Sniff’s band of village idiots, most of these people did get away with it and still got promoted. It appears Jason gore was in bed with Mike Cornett and they both lied their way out of it, Cornett more so than Gore. Gore played like he couldn’t recall much of the pertinent information….lies, lies, lies! But he was promoted to Investigator, because Sniff allowed the lies. No wonder Cornett got no discipline, because he was also connected to Jessica Gore, through her hubby. It appears Joey Sinz skated through all of this mess and got promoted to sergeant anyway. Some of the involved parties have actually since been promoted to Investigator and assigned to the Rat Squad.

This was one of the biggest buckets of shit that Sniff ever stepped in. He thought he had gotten away with yet another scandal swept under the rug. Aaron Park just wouldn’t allow Sniff to kick that bucket off his foot. 70 year old Sniff must be experiencing the onset of dementia, he needs to get out now before things get any worse.

As for this so called whistle-blower Katheryn Quezada. It sounds like she took a page right out of Lorin Clark’s playbook. She was hoping that the others would get terminated so she would be at the top of the promotion list. It looks like she got the promotions she was after. The late Tony Baur (RIP) said she could have won an oscar with her performance of how upset she was after having been shown what were possibly the test questions. Bravo Katheryn, I hope you feel good about yourself.

This entire debacle has given this department a huge black eye that will never go away. This current leadership is pathetic and must be removed like a malignant cancer before any healing can begin. Sniff, do the right thing and step down and just walk away. All of your politician acquaintances read this blog and know what a shambles this department is in because of you. Yes, even the city leaders of all the contract cities now know much more about you and they are disgusted and want you gone.

  11. And who is currently at the top of the Sgt’s list… one Jason GXXX. Must be nice to have a good looking wife that the Sheriff has a small crush on. I mean after all he called his wife Jessica at a fundraising event….

  12. It was a bucket of shit they can’t go back and change things. I caught wind today a person involved in the cheating scandal has a jury trial coming up. A judge has said it is a Pitchess issue.

As far as Joey Sinz goes he is cool with me. Joey can be a little mouthy with people but he has toned it down. I think Joey finally realizes he is a little guy. Joey I haven’t forgot about your fried chicken jokes.

Mike Cornett will have to answer up to everything he has done. I believe he will throw somebody else under the bus when my legal team rakes him a brand new one. Second floor beware he might throw one of you under the bus. See as y’all are reading this you are saying to yourself I wouldn’t put it past him. Y’all know I am right. Cornett this cheating scandal is a good example of you not maning up.

  13. @Darkman – I just got a data dump on Sinz and his wife. Both were in the cheating scandal paperwork. I am going to have to follow up.

  14. This is awesome…. Aaron, you just opened a canned of worms. Stan Shit must be fuming at your for undressing his unethical behavior. Keep you the good work..

  15. They have apparently hired a private eye and set up a group bitch page. It rocks

  16. That page is dumb AF. Look at the members… a who’s who of people that Aaron has roasted….Chrome Dome Vest, Ray Peckerwood, Ho Bag Higgins, Tochtrop, Raya the Playa, Huskey, and even Captain Tripod her ugly self. Some new comers seem to want to play right Kylleen? How ya enjoying that new kitchen? It would be a shame if Aaron got the info on how you paid for it. Lots of stories yet to be told Aaron.

  17. What about the original catalyst for the cheating scandal, the corporal and his deputy wife who mysteriously resigned in lieu of being investigated. Oh yeah, they were involved with the wife swapping club that exists among many. Including 2nd floor admin.
In fact Chief Anderson and his wife should be divorced by now. She ran off with a deputy to another state, taking half of Anderson’s retirement along with the retirement home they owned.

I would like to congratulate the deputy for not only screwing Chief Anderson’s wife but also for screwing Anderson. All i can say is “Karma” baby….He screwed so many good cops over, can’t wait to see the other Adam Henry’s on the second floor take a hit too.

Stand by, more info on the wife swapping club will soon come out……

  18. Can’t Wait.

  19. I would definitely be looking in to Kylleen Coogan. She did not start start the spouses support group. She came in bullied, lied and cheated until the sweet lady who started it gave up and walked away. She is a snake who will stab you in the back. I have personally watched her tell on people to high ranking department officials. She is mentally ill. Cannot get enough attention and wants to be up anyone with ranks ass. She was having people PayPal money to her personal account every time an officer died and flowers were sent. There was no board for the SSG for the longest time. She is crooked and is besties with Stan. Im just waiting for it to blow up in her face. She collected so much money from the spouses and was accountable to no one. In all fairness I have to admit she has done some good things. Her motives are not commendable. I just hope people can see she is just as corrupt as her best friend Stan. Watch your back!

  20. I see the cheating scandel all the way cross country, what about the inability of the Sheriff to even follow the simplest rule of law with the dead and who to call and what to do and to uinderstand what happens in a unattended death, instead allows a comcealment of our family members death, idenity and theft of our personal information and plathorea of crime commited against our family with Sheriff Sniffs help in these actions, along but not limited to Sheriff Diyorio calling the DA office to understand what whit collar crimes committed and continued to conceal all then admitted Guilt to not notifing next of kin yet Lt. Bomstriom said sue the tax payers of Riverside for what your elected official did, You my people have public corruption, white collar crimes, victimizing the family and the people, along saying just sue the people and make the people responsibile for the crimes committed in Sheriff Sniff office for he is also the public Adminsrtator. WOW.
