Chad Bianco will be years cleaning up the department. I’d have thought that dealing with Bob Epps and the Bomb Squad as well as the cover up of the Kevin Duffy serial child molestation scandal would have been at the top of the list, but a year in I’ve seen no updates on either.
Why are some of Sniff’s people still in charge of stuff?
The bottom line about former Chief Deputy Ron Dye – he got popped in a prostitution sting. (One of those “Victimless Crimes” that libertarian anarchists and sexual deviants want to legalize)
On Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, Temecula Special Teams coordinated a comprehensive “John” prostitution and narcotic sting operation in the city of Temecula. This operation was conducted primarily as a prostitution sting, which targeted male “Johns,” soliciting an undercover female deputy for sexual favors in exchange for money. During the operation, Temecula Special Teams simultaneously worked a narcotic investigation targeting subjects with active warrants known to buy/sell illegal narcotics. During this operation, the following 10 people were arrested and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center:
Jeir Castillo, HMA, 25-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, Ca. / Prostitution
Anthony Garcia, HMA, 21-year-old resident of Temecula, Ca. / Prostitution
Ron Dye, WMA, 72-year-old resident of Murrieta, Ca. / Prostitution
Everett Mays, BMA, 53-year-old resident of Temecula, Ca. / Prostitution
Chad Nehlsen, WMA, 41-year-old resident of Murrieta, Ca. / Prostitution
Daniel Wolff (WMA, 31-year-old resident of Temecula, Ca. / Prostitution
Juan Juan, HMA, 46-year-old resident of Wildomar, Ca. / Prostitution
Alfredo Becerra, HMA, 33-year-old Temecula transient / Possession of Illegal Narcotics and Felony Violation of Probation
Derrick Kendrick, BMA, 25-year-old resident of Winchester, Ca. / Possession of Illegal Narcotics
William Blackmon, WMA, 38-year-old Menifee transient / Possession of Illegal Narcotics and Felony Warrant
Ron Dye also donated $6,000 to Stan Sniff.
According to inside sources who I spoke to during and after the 2018 campaign, Dye was a jerk to anyone that disagreed with him and was used as a hatchet man while in the second floor. Dye was also alleged to have been working on some sort of lucrative contract out in Indio (referred to as “the desert”) where he was a Station Captain before becoming one of Stan Sniff’s butt-monkeys.
I received notification of this arrest several times suggesting that Dye was a universally loathed figure within the Riverside Sheriff’s Department.
The ghosts of Stan Sniff are all over and still active. I hope soon, I can give some updates about corruption being prosecuted, more of sniff’s goons being fired and real progress on the Kevin Duffy Cover-Up amongst others.
Remember Sgt. Selfie? Who can’t – Robert Garcia is his name. Sgt. Garcia is REPUTED to be a jerk to his men. Sgt. Garcia is held in low regard by those that have talked to this blogger. (Ahem, Garcia, when studying your law courses… ahem OFF THE CLOCK… check with your professor about libel laws and how they work. Because I think you’re a loser and by the time I am done writing about you everyone else will also) Many also rip on the guy for being a “Gym Body” meaning he looks strong until a 150 pound crank fiend rolls him on a traffic stop. I can’t speak to Garcia’s apparent lack of real strength, I just know what sources tell me about him.
So guess what Huskey did? Put Garcia on a special team as its’ Sergeant. Nothing says up yours to your men than doing that on your way out the door. Then, of course there is Sgt. Geronimo Contrares, made the admin Sgt. by soon to be departed Captain Huskey. According to accounts given to this blogger, Contrares may well have caused a couple of lawsuits against the county with his conduct in the year or so since becoming the admin sgt. (when he allegedly isn’t slipping people in to Cochellafest without tickets) DOH!
Then we have the case of Kevin Vest. Vest was and is still reviled by most of the sources your intrepid blogger has in a manner similar to invertebrate reptilian slime.
Kevin Vest got hammered on Facebook by SHERIFF BIANCO. (Repeat as many times as necessary – Garcia, you may need a buddy to help you with this one…)
Did Kevin Vest destroy evidence? That is the question of the day from your intrepid blogger.
We have been told that the Kevin Duffy serial child molester, rapist, abuser case is going to explode again. SHERIFF BIANCO has said it will be investigated and closure will be given to the victims (or something similar). Did Kevin Vest and others destroy the evidence? What happened to the stuff Captain Leonard Purvis reputedly was ordered to take to the second floor from Hemet?
It is going to be interesting times as the County is looking to wrap up a slew of employment practices cases, worker’s comp abuses and the like with the new Sheriff pushing for justice. It is also going to be interesting as the new management team keeps uncovering hidden money, malfeasance and corruption… no amount of deleted data by Kevin Vest (if the allegation is true that is) will stop SHERIFF BIANCO and crew from the clean up of the department.
In other news – as not seen in the local media – the morale of the department is sky high, hiring is surging and the Sheriff himself has said there is enough money to restore punitive cuts made by the old Sheriff.
We’ve been pretty clear. The local media in Riverside County is abhorrent. They were 100% complicit in the corruption of Stan Sniff, and similar to the New York Times and Washington Post – both caught in multiple lies related to President Trump – the Desert Sun is on a rampage to assuage its’ endorsement of Stan Sniff.
Neither of the major local toilet papers have bothered to cover the myriad of efficiency improvements implemented by the Sheriff. Neither covered the CCW issue, because at the end of the day most of their employees are gun-grabbing liberals anyway.
There has been no follow up on things like Kevin Duffy, Sniff Management Personnel that got away with sexual harassment (think #METOO), crimes, cover-ups, gross mismanagement and the like.
What we do get from the Desert Scum is a chicken-feed cheap shot headline.
The headline reads “DID CHAD BIANCO LIE!?“, but the article is pretty much the same pablum we’ve grown tired of since the Desert Sun failed to properly cover the Stan-Sniff deputy cheating scandal cover-up.
You have to read down 7(!) Paragraphs (note the similar pattern in the New York Times or the Washington Post) – to get to the meat of the story. The first seven paragraphs were replete with implications of secrecy and lies lies lies by the Sheriff.
Although the proposed rate isn’t what Bianco promised, this year’s 2.19% rate increase and next year’s projected 5% increase are not as dramatic as rate increases in the years before he took office.
Imagine that. But, Bianco is a liar because the rates did not go down. It is similar to media attacking President Trump’s Tax Reform that dropped taxes for 85% of Americans
Then after all the cheap shots to lead the article – there is this:
Even though many said they were hopeful Bianco could lower the rate in the weeks leading up to the meeting, officials from Temecula, Menifee, Moreno Valley and La Quinta commended Bianco for reining in the rate at which the contract cost is increasing.
Now why did you call Chad Bianco a liar, Desert Sun? I think you owe him an apology, front page above the fold.
And Bianco thinks his 5% estimate for next year’s rate increase was on the high side.
“With what we are doing, I can’t imagine it going anywhere but down,” he said in an email to The Desert Sun.
Very interesting that an article headlined “Broken Promises” has these sorts of quotes in it. This is what Media outlets do when they feel forced to have to cover positive news about electeds they don’t like. (Especially a Conservative Republican like Chad Bianco)
La Quinta City Manager Frank Spevacek said Tuesday’s meeting was a refreshing change from prior contract partner meetings but he was taking a wait-and-see approach to determine if the new sheriff’s administration could rein in costs.
Note – no mention that the prior contract partner meetings were with Desert Sun endorsed Stan Sniff. Imagine that.
“Proof of their commitment to this new way will be determined by the going forward actions the sheriff implements,” he said.
I can hardly wait to serve the Desert Sun some more crow when the reforms bear more fruit
A couple of side items. Stan Sniff’s cronies that used to control CCW Classes and ranges now have competition. One of the many reforms brought in by Chad Bianco are new ranges and new vendors authorized for the CCW Program. H Paul Payne, a man I believe to be invertebrate slime, who inexplicably is in a position of authority in gun rights groups has been silent while Bianco does in 4 months what his boy Sniff did the exact opposite of in 11 years.
Omitted from the Desert Sun Story – conveniently so by the way – is the hiring binge going on by the Sheriff’s Department. Inside sources tell me that the fiscal mismanagement under Stan Sniff was so pervasive that just simple changes to methods of doing business are allowing the department to make their money stretch further. It is unclear to this blogger if the extent of the mismanagement, what I believe to be felony embezzlement, misappropriation, commingling and accounting fraud that was the rule under sniff will ever be fully known or revealed. This was also omitted from the Desert Sun Story.
We had written previously that one of our favorite punching bags, Jason “Deuce” Horton was being hired as the Chief of Police for Yakima, WA. Well, Horton quit his job in Code Enforcement and was already packing his bags. The City Council missed the memo and hired someone else. DOH! I guess that means Horton can glare at me at the next CAGOP Convention in Indian Wells in September.
I am waiting to hear about several individual cases of employees who were screwed over by the Sniff regime. People like Tammy Smoak, Gabe Dennington and Lance Colmer come to mind. I am also very curious to see what is coming next related to the massive cover-up of one of the worst serial child molesters in American History (if everything alleged is true) Kevin Duffy. I am sure the Desert Sun will have nothing to say, or they will try to blame Chad Bianco for it.
If the Desert Sun is following the typical leftist media pattern – they are going to set a narrative that Bianco is a liar, tries to hide stuff (which they did in this cheap shot article) and is in over his head trying to run the department. Watch for it, I’ve seen it for years from media outlets, especially those butt-hurt when their endorsee loses an election.
Actually, this time I’d call it more of a business trip. As perfect timing (aka God) would have it, I was long since scheduled to be in Buena Park for the CIR Convention. Then, I was contacted by a Chad Bianco Loyalist and asked if I wanted to go to his event. It happened to be on the same day!
I will write about the CIR in a separate post.
I decided to visit the Chad Bianco fundraiser on Saturday Night for one main reason. I had not met 95% of the people I interacted with. I was hoping I could meet a bunch of them. By the end of the night, I had the halo effect in my eyes from so many flashes. It was a great feeling to meet all these “Good Cops”. If it was not for these people, learning about the Riverside Sheriff’s Office would have ended my faith in law enforcement.
At the same time, it also stirred up a lot of other emotions as I was re-living parts of the campaign. I was recalling a lot of the people I met contacting me under condition of anonymity – people who deal with blood and guts every day terrified of Stan Sniff and his goons. I recalled when Sniff’s crew attacked my wife, as others told me stories of the same thing happening to their spouses as well.
I met people who had first-hand experiences of the tirades of Stan Sniff. I met people affected by the biased reporting of the Riverside Puke-Enterprise or the Desert Scum newspaper. I met a variety of people that had bristled under the tyrant and his minions held back from promotions, or had been subjugated, stripped of authority, stripped of assignments and the like.
I got a chance to talk to several of Chad Bianco’s Chief Deputies and Assistant Sheriffs. To a man, they all know what a mess they have to deal with. It was actually astounding to see these hardened police veterans tell me in spades that they are overwhelmed.
They mentioned specifically, they are having to work with Sgt, Lt, Captain level members of the department to re-empower them to make command decisions as the previous administration was top-down micromanagement. One mentioned the $120 Batteries and $150 Oil Changes that the county maintenance racket has been ripping off the Sheriff’s Department for. Still another was talking about how they were going to staff the new Indio Jail and the logistic difficulties in doing so. The problems are endemic and systemic.
Then, I was reminded that the local media has not reported a bit on the mess that is the Sheriff’s Department – seeking instead to assuage their bruised egos in attempts to whitewash the failure of Stan Sniff. What is clear is that the Puke-Enterprise and the Desert Scum are going to do their best to undermine the New Sheriff.
To that end, I stopped by former Chief Deputy Jason Horton’s house on the way out to the Chad Bianco Fundraiser. The message is simple, I am not going anywhere and due to the abject bias of the local media, Horton or anyone else entertaining delusions of running against Chad Bianco in 2022 will find themselves in lights on this blog. Some will think the local media in Riverside County will carry them over the line, ask Stan Sniff how that worked for him.
When I spoke to Chad Bianco at the end of his event, he told me something that will likely resonate and echo for the rest of my life. “Aaron, I can’t tell you the details or tell you why but the problems we have are 100 times worse than anything you wrote about…”
I had become convinced there were years of benign neglect, when added to Stan Sniff’s Cronyism became a toxic cocktail. It is clear that Sniff’s proclivity toward yes men and his own megalomania / superiority complex let widespread corruption reign. It is also clear that the sudden realization that the Sheriff’s Department has enough money to do its’ job is an indicator of incompetence that was the standard of the last Sheriff.
When you add in the local media’s complicity in covering up the malfeasance and corruption of the Sniff regime, it makes sense. The Puke-Enterprise and the all-too-close relationship many in their ranks had with the Sheriff contributed to his belief that he was above accountability. Even today, the Puke-Enterprise and the Desert Scum are giving sniff a forum to continue his narcissistic rage.
What is clear is that Chad Bianco and team have a handle on the problems. They would not be as overwhelmed looking as they were to me if they were not aware of what they have ahead of them. What is not clear, however is whether the Riverside County Board of Supervisors will do their part to help. Three of the members were present at the event, including Supervisor Jeff Hewitt and his District Director that no one likes. (several talked to me about that guy)
Chad Bianco announced from the stage that they had figured out how to double the number of patrols in the rural (aka County) areas starting next month. During the evening, I learned that the number of applicants submitted for background checks went from 4 in December (the last month of Sniff) to 43 in February. The wait time for a CCW vetting is down to 2 months from the previous regime at 24 months. With the exception of the Puke-Enterprise attempting to whitewash the CCW issue, and some weak reporting about a hiring spree made to look like irresponsible spending, nothing substantive has been reported about the myriad changes occurring within the first two months (save a whiny story about Kurly, who should be in jail let alone under a termination investigation).
I think Chad Bianco will be an effective Sheriff if the first 2 months is an indication of what is to come. I will be watching Riverside County. Please keep the tips coming [email protected]
Blogger’s Note – I am planning on being in Riverside County this weekend, please look me up on Facebook if you’d like to meet me. I can be more public now that I know the Sheriff is not a comic book villain.
Pretty much everyone I know detests the Riverside Press-Enterprise. Part of the reason I did some of the things I did on Right on Daily was because the P-E abdicated their responsibility as journalists. They refused to report the truth about the condition of the department. It has been alleged to this blogger that the senior editor and a few of the reporters were way too close to Stan Sniff. (Rumors varied from being drinking buddies to the P-E Staff being panty-wasted cowards intimidated by the tyrannical former sheriff)
It is the opinion of this blogger that a public post put out by a P-E Reporter for a Story on CCW Issuance is being done in a lame face-saving attempt to show that Sniff Really wasn’t that bad. The P-E was so fully invested in Stan Sniff that they have to try and restore their own reputation now that the red lights are shut off outside their office door.
“The culture of our department – blaming everybody else for our problems, misinformation to the public, the complete lack of honesty and transparency from the sheriff’s administration to the Board of Supervisors (and) the executive office, the lack of trust, the lack of sharing, the lack of cooperation – all of that has to change,” Bianco said.
It appears that the P-E missed their part in the above quote. Lies of omission or parsing words because you are too close to the Sheriff or you are a coward and afraid of him count in that culture. In case that is not obvious, yes I just called the P-E Liars and/or Cowards.
The P-E has given Stan Sniff way too much ink in all their articles since he was overthrown. I also take note that Jeff Van Wagenen, who was highlighted in earlier posts allegedly trying to give some of Sniff’s former Management a soft landing, is quoted speaking typical nuanced bureaucrat speak:
“I’m not going to use the words ‘dishonest’ or ‘deceptive,’” said Van Wagenen, who is independent of the sheriff. “But again, Sheriff Sniff had complained in the last couple of years that the board cut his budget … the sheriff’s budget has actually grown every year since 2012-2013.”
Numbers provided by Van Wagenen show the sheriff’s budget growing from $538 million in fiscal 2012/13 to $672 million last fiscal year. Net county cost – what the county general fund contributes to the sheriff’s budget – grew from $224 million to $276 million over the same period.
I’ll say it for Jeff. Sniff Lied and mismanaged the money the department was allotted. Perhaps all that time spent Stan Sniff spent retaliating against enemies of the state was more of a brain-drain than we’ll ever know…
… which makes the coming Press-Enterprise whitewashing of two year wait times for CCW Permits all the more egregious. Sheriff Chad Bianco has made it clear that the money is in the budget to speed them up. In fact, the wait time has been slashed.
It was put to this blogger by a confidential informant that the Sheriff wants to use a 3rd party vendor that will process CCW applications for a very low price – at no cost to the county mind you – and do the preliminary background checks. They promise a crazy fast turnaround, too.
This seems to be too much for the Riverside County Administrative State to handle. The swamp creatures, fearing a loss of control are throwing up roadblocks. If you remember, there are maintenance backlogs on vehicles, oil changes cost $300 and the like because the County has a no-bid monopoly on vehicle maintenance. There is little incentive to change that system because of hundreds of make-work county jobs that would be lost if that racket was dismantled.
So – the County Admin people are saying Sheriff Bianco has to go through “purchasing” and other red tape BS before he can finally streamline the CCW process. Your intrepid blogger fears he may have to start naming these bureaucrats by name. Perhaps the new supervisors can demonstrate some leadership and crack the whip on these feckless obstacles to efficiency and change for the citizens.
I sent some links about the awful CCW history of Stan Sniff in a vain hope that the P-E Reporter would do his job. I realized that one of the forums that was replete with people complaining of waits as long as 26 months for an interview was wiped clean. This must have happened sometime in September of 2018 as I re-verified all of my information around labor day. It appears that H Paul Payne, the scumbag (that’s what I think of him) that controls the NRA in California had his buddies at the CRPA clear off the derogatory references to the Sniffmeister.
Too bad for Payne, the CRPA, Sniff and others… I got screenshots and archives.
Thats true.. I mean 2018 till an interview is what one guy said….. you know how many deputies are on limited duty and on disability ect they could throw in that division? they could put like 20 guys in there.. BTW, the two deputies that are in there now are super super guys .. Frank Yezzo is a great guy and one of the JUST TWO deputies in that division… and very easy going in the whole process but again, its almost like you should just CCW on your own at that point of waiting.
The other was Frank Aguirre who appears to have sold out for a “Tap” position from Sniff.
Unpack the comment. In a county of 2.4 Million people Sheriff Sniff has limited the number of people processing CCW Permits to 2.
I have a current CCW from another county. I’m told by Riverside county that I have to begin the process over in their county, taking the safety course from one of their vendors and I have to interview. They gave me an appointment in January 2019!!
This comment was from 3-27-2017 and was deleted from the CRPA forum page.
The department is in complete turmoil because we have not had strong leadership from Sniff nor Diyorio. When the leaders don’t lead, all the rest of the nonsense that you have been writing about begins to happen (thermal station scandal, cheating scandal on the detective tests in 2015, then cheating on the Lt and Caps test in 2016, sergeants and lieutenants in admin positions not working full days…which has become part of the culture at those ranks etc etc). This agency has been a ship adrift for years now and it is sad.
Second word, ethics. It is true (and I have witnessed it first hand) that if you are a FOS (friend of the sheriff) you will go to the front of the line to get a ccw.If you are john q citizen, it’s a 18 month to two year wait. All department members know about this, from the office staff, to the deputies and above. We see the Sheriff campaigning on duty or having his people do it for him (Purvis on the dept owned gator with a Sniff campaign sign etc. etc) and know full well that if we were caught doing something like that for Bianco we’d be gone.
That’s right folks. The P-E, H Paul Payne and others attempted to cover this CCW thing up and now the P-E is getting ready to whitewash the whole thing. The P-E is whitewashing Sniff’s fiscal mismanagement, too.
If the P-E was interested in journalism, they’d have been running stories about the corruption of Stan Sniff for years.
