When I started in on Bill Brough, it took almost 5 months to get anyone anywhere near leadership to acknowledge there was a problem.

Fred Whitaker did not even attempt to ask questions until late October of 2020. The CAGOP Hid behind the OCGOP, with nothing more than tepid, carefully worded public comments. In fact, as of the writing of this blog, the CAGOP “Chairwoman” has said NOTHING specific to the women abused by Bill Brough. The OCGOP finally endorsed against brough in November with the delay due in no small part to Whitaker’s failure to lead and extreme reticnce to acknowledge the mountain of evidence forming agiainst Brough + the back end pressure from Republican “leadership” to protect a leadership vote for Waldron.

The CAGOP waited until 2-8-2020 to follow suit. Again, as of 12-7-2020 there has been no public communication from the CAGOP about Bill Brough’s conduct nor the victims. I thought we were supposed to celebrate the first “Latina” Chairwoman of the CAGOP? I think Bill Brough’s victims (3 of whom are Latina, by the way) missed the memo about how great that was supposed to be.

I knew via multiple sources, (Staffers, Consultants, Lobbyists, etc) that Marie Waldron (The GOP Assembly Permanent Minority Leader) was running interference for Bill Brough until the stench got so bad even she had to get out of the way. In fact, Brough was able to keep his cush committee assignments until May of 2020 when the Workplace Conduct Unit finally validated some of the myriad claims against Brough. Why? Marie Waldron was too much of a coward to remove him herself, telling several people she was afraid of him and that he still had several months left on his term.

Perhaps that fear is grounded in part by the largely useless Workplace Conduct Unit. This is the same unit that is now concerned about Trish Todd, yet they dispensed with the Heather Baez claim and have resisted PRA Attempts for transparency repeatedly. I wonder how many rape/misconduct claims are languishing because it is either about covering up for democrats or their mandate is a limited joke? If something as obvious as Baez is dismissed, I shudder to think what is happening right now.

So you have the “Chairwoman”, the feckless Minority Leader (both women that had nothing to say about Brough) and the Workplace Conduct Unit refusing to defend women.

Then there’s Fred Whitaker. He was smearing Trish Todd along with Tim Clark in order to set the table for the OCGOP’s suicidal endorsement of John Moorlach. Moorlach’s defense regarding the cover up of the rape of Trish Todd has been “I didn’t know”, yet when told, his defense shifted to “It’s all the blogger’s fault”.

What is Fred Whitaker’s defense? Blame your intrepid blogger, too?

Both Moorlach and Whitaker made a fatal error, they trusted Tim Clark. And while Clark is inexplicibly still employed by Moorlach (and this will be a key campaign issue against Moorlach), Whitaker has yet to say a thing now that we know the Rape victim is credible and legitimate.

Let’s let Fred Whitaker’s own words hang him. (BTW – I have several people that will go on the record about Clark smearing the rape victim if needed)

I’m reaching out to you to ask a personal favor, because we are at a critical point.  The absolutely false accusation against Sen. Moorlach is threatening the ability of the party to unite behind one candidate for this special election, where only one more vote wins. The Democrats have only one candidate – Katrina Foley.   We have 4 candidates, and now even Diane Dixon says she wants to run because of the allegations against Moorlach.  That would be 5 Republicans (three City Council members from Newport and one from Huntington Beach and Sen. Moorlach).   I have commitments from two of our candidates they will withdraw for Moorlach, but not the others.   Once we show courage, others will follow.

I believe that if we consolidate behind Sen. Moorlach, we will have the most well-known candidate as the only candidate. We cannot say that with the others in the race – the city council members will not get out for each other and they are not known past their cities.    John Moorlach as always fought the principled fight. We need to fight for him.

I personally, think the blog was sent out just to sow disarray in the party by those that want to see us divided, since they know we can’t unite behind one of the others.  I know you know how it feels to be wrongly accused and have libel sent out against you.   Please help John fight this. Would you please “reply” that we can count your email as support for Sen Moorlach’s endorsement?   I appreciate the consideration.
