CAGOP Update: The Price of Failure look for yourself and ask if they are trying to lose. 2-15-2020 CAGOP Financials Yield Nuggets

Look at the Schedule E. The overhead is horrendous. This is where the money is going.

NOTE: The “one ask” program works as follows, until the CAGOP is fully funded, the money raised is split in three until the CAGOP is fully funded. Then once, the CAGOP’s budget is met, the money is split in half between the caucuses. The “One Ask” program covers “traditional fundraising”… Jessica Patterson could raise money directly for the party as an aside from the “one ask” program. The significance of this note is that the spending decisions on candidate support are being made by Shannon Grove, Marie Waldron and their staff like Matt Klemin. The candidate support decisions are NOT being made by Jessica Patterson or anyone else that is a board member of the state party. It is hard to keep track of, but I am adding extra clarification so that the people responsible are separated from those that are not – with regard to the content of this post.

Here is the tale of the tape:

David Carney on the report for $15,600
Matt Klemin on the report for another $11,500 + $11,500 in owed payment
For some bizarre reason Shannon Grove had $409 in expenses reimbursed.

Senator John Moorlach (SD-37 INC) has received $42,000 in support + a whopping $35000 paid to his incompetent consultant Tim Clark.
Senator Scott Wilk (SD-21 INC) has received $35,000 in support + several independent efforts are supporting him.
Senator Ling Ling Ling Chang (SD-29 INC) has received $53,000 in support.
Melissa Melendez (SD-23 OPEN) has received $83,000 in support. And, it appears that in this case the Realtors Union (CREPAC) decided not to attack her after telling insiders they were
Jesus Andrade in (SD-05 OPEN)which is D+11 has received $48,000 in support. This is either a waste of money or the party leadership playing for a moderate democrat as this district is extremely unlikely to be competitive in the fall. It this what our leadership is reduced to doing?
Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh (or is it Bogh) has received $179,000 and counting. SHE HAS RECEIVED MORE SUPPORT THAN THE THREE VULNERABLE INCUMBENTS COMBINED!!! Why are party leaders trying to pick a primary winner when we have vulnerable members all over the state!?

Assemblyman Phillip Chen (AD-55) has received a token $8000 in support (Vulnerable)
Assemblyman Tom Lackey (AD-36) has received $17000 in support (Vulnerable)

Other CAGOP endorsed candidates:

Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham AD-35 $0 (Vulnerable)
Assemblyman Stephen Choi AD-68 $0 (Vulnerable)
Kelly Seyarto AD-67 $0
Laurie Davies AD-73 $0
Suzette Martinez-Valledares AD-38 #1 Target $0
(There is no party endorsement in AD-74 #2 Target thus it is not listed)

In defiance of the OCGOP, who withdrew their endorsement of Tyler Diep, the State Party is still endorsing him in AD-72.

This is what makes trying to pick a winner in SD-05 Primary even more absurd. Two GOP endorsed candidates who are running against extremely flawed GOP opponents that could lose those safe seats (referring to AD-67 ad AD-73) for the GOP are receiving nothing.

Then there is Andrew Kotyuk – AD-42. He is getting attacked by the Swamp (about $150,000 and counting) AND the Swamp is in to Chad Mayes (NPP INC) for nearly $1,000,000 combined between payoffs (ahem donations) to Mayes’ campaign account and independent efforts. What has the party done? Helped Andrew get a few donations – but no direct support or any independent groups helping out. It is as if the CAGOP leadership wants Mayes re-elected. But they did tell Kotyuk who he could and could not hire…

So why should any of us party faithful be happy about these decisions considering that we have been getting hammered for the last 10 years? Remember – 32 down to 18 in the Assembly and 15 down to 10 in the Senate.

But hey – the all the Members of the CAGOP Board that are not elected by the delegates stood up to oppose party endorsements submitted by the grassroots at the last party board meeting! (BOE member Ted Gaines, Congressman Doug LaMalfa, Marie Waldron, Shannon Grove, Tom Ross) Then Congressman Doug LaMalfa attacked the process at the end of the meeting!

YAY TEAM! #FACEPALM

  1. I am thinking we need a political documentary. Get Dinesh Desouza to help produce it.
