We’ve detailed Tim Donnelly’s financial issues on Right on Daily for years. He lost a piece of property in a foreclosure. There is the story about the Roofing Supply Business that went Bankrupt (according to Donnelly’s former partner it was because Tim Donnelly was dishonest)
This mailer portrays Tim Donnelly as a hypocrite.
While claiming to be a Tea Party Conservative, Tim Donnelly took a $32,000 taxpayer funded car. (Note, my two 2017 vehicles cost way less than $32,000 each)
In 2012, when Tim Donnelly was running for re-election, not much was known about Tim Donnelly’s Felony Arrest, Police Record, borrowing money from constituents, sexual forays, suicide attempts or drinking exploits. The people blasting him had to stick to the surface issues of his behavior as a legislator.
Note – in 2012, I was outraged that Charles Munger, Luis Buhler and crew were pouring money in to Bill Jahn who was challenging Donnelly in the Primary. I have not changed my position that a primary challenge from the left to a sitting conservative is wrong. That said, had Tim Donnelly’s maladies been fully vetted in 2012, he’d have been defeated or damaged so bad he’d have never been able to mount another campaign.
This is the situation with William “Bill” Brough in 2020. The Primary Challenge against Brough is a moral challenge, not an ideological one. Along this line of reason, take a step back from Tim Donnelly’s image as a Conservative and evaluate his actions, there is no way you can either trust him or take him seriously. The $32,000 taxpayer funded vehicle is just one of many areas where Donnelly falls short of who he says he is.
Tim Donnelly was named Right on Daily’s Grifter of the Decade 2010-2019 for stuff like this. To be continued…
Endnote: CA-08 = California’s 8th Congressional District, this is the seat of retiring Republican Paul Cook.
