If I lived in Rocklin I’d vote Susan Halldin and Derek Counter for School Board, and Only Bill Halldin for City Council.
Since I live in Roseville – here it goes:
Governor – John Cox. California is #49 in Business Climate, #49 in Tax burden, #50 in Homelessness (with 25% of the estimated homeless population in America), #50 in Welfare (with an estimated 1/3 of all welfare cases in America) and the obsession with decimating criminal law. This means voting democrat for a statewide office is supporting this list of failures.
Lt Gov – I am voting for Ed Hernandez because Eleni has distinguished herself is an extreme left-wing progressive. Hernandez, while liberal himself, is tempered by his connections to the establishment. (Yes, I just wrote that – I hate prop 14 with a passion)
Secretary of State – Mark Meuser. He is a gifted election law attorney and has raised several very valid points about Alex Padilla’s dereliction of duty. (37 people registered to vote at a UPS Store, 87 people registered to vote at the same office, etc.) His plan to clean the election rolls is badly needed with the democrat obsession with Motor Voter, Ballot Harvesting and a host of other recently passed legislation making election fraud easier to commit.
Controller – Konstantinos Roditis. Controller is the second most important job in the California Constitution. It is largely ignored and could be a check on the coven of drunken sailors in the majority in the legislature
Treasurer – Greg Conlon
Attorney General – Steven Bailey
Insurance Commissioner – Steve Poizner
Bd of EQ D1 – None of the Above. When the GOP nominee wins, he will end up infesting office for over 30 years doing next to nothing for anyone he has represented. But he did vote yes on a mileage tax that will become a reality soon in California. (Think of your vehicle registration fee getting tripled again)
US Senator – None of the Above. Kevin De Leon is a corrupt communist, and I would have voted for Dianne Feinstein until she pulled the stunt against Brett Kavanaugh. 3 of Kavanaugh’s accusers have been referred for prosecution, by the way.
Congress District 4 – Tom McClintock. This is an easy call as his opponent might as well have been born in Bejing.
State Senate D4 – Jim Nielsen
State Aseembly D6 – Kevin Kiley
State Superintendent of Public Instruction – Marshall Tuck. Tony Thurmond is another career politician looking for a place to beach himself before running for higher office. Tuck has never held office. There is your tiebreaker between these two democrats
Placer County Board of Education (Vote for 2, which is far worse than voting for 1)
Rene Aggielairuh – BARF BARF BARF BARF. He almost single-handedly is keeping the Roseville Police Department in Business. As of October of 2016, the Roseville Police Department had been to his Donner Ave Home 56 Times.
Suzanne Jones – Crazy Susie (aka Suicide Barbie from 2016 AD06 campaign fame) is the only Republican Running. I helped her get elected originally to PCOE, only to have her join forces with local democrats on an insane rampage to go full NIMBY jacket while losing the 2016 AD06 Primary.
Bob Tomasini – foolishly listed his age on the ballot (80) and as you may or may not remember, I led an effort as then President of the Placer CRA PAC to run him off the Sierra College Board on a Rail (back in 2004…)
It is a good thing the Placer County Office of Education does exactly nothing as I will be doing exactly nothing with that part of my ballot
Roseville City Council:
Pauline Rocucci – Supported Jack Duran, Rene Aggielairuh, and every other democrat running for local office but is a registered republican. She is a relic of Roseville’s past who also left the room rather than take a stand in the last contentious union contract drama. Despite her having the support of people I like and respect, I do not trust Pauline Rocucci to do the right thing on the union negotiations and other issues that require a fiscally conservative approach. If she wins, I hope she proves me wrong.
David Larson – he is an extreme left wing democratic socialist activist liberal. In a rare deviation from the liberal plantation, Larson did endorse John Allard for Assembly, which got him expelled from the democrat version of the Placer County Republican Central Committee. Given the number of people he has alienated over the years, I am sure he will finish 5th.
Stephanie Dement – The only Republican on the ballot that opposes Measure B. Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner. She is a full portfolio Conservative that we need on the Council, her instincts are impeccable and the amount of hostility and retaliation she has faced for standing up and filing for this office tells me she is cut out for the job.
Bruce Houdesheldt – I have never met him in person. All I know about Bruce is that he attempted to get my friend Pete Constant run off the local Rotary Club and incited drama in other parts of town because this is how he handles political disagreements. As such, I like him about as much as David Larson and that is Bruce’s fault as I never had a chance to get to know him or his qualifications. All that said, there appears to be an insider deal to appoint this guy to fill the vacancy left by Bonnie Gore, should he finish third on the ballot (it is assumed that Pauline Rocucci and Krista Bernasconi will win outright by the establishment). Any of those in on this deal should take a long look at how Bruce has treated Pete Constant and others he disagrees with before giving him any level of responsibility.
Krista Bernasconi – I was pre-disposed to not support her, given that she left the GOP in 2016, and celebrated the SCOTUS decision to shove gay marriage onto society with a rainbow facebook profile display. She is also solidly involved and supportive of the measure B tax increase.
Several people whose opinion I respect think highly of her so I decided to do some research. She is the most qualified candidate on the ballot and will be able to get right up to speed from day one on the council. Despite my misgivings about her socially liberal views, she is indeed solid on issues of city governance and has paid her dues to set up this run for council. She also took the time to talk to me for about 20 minutes answering several questions that demonstrated to me that she has the temperament and knowledge to do the job.
Since she is not a Republican I can not endorse her, but I will be voting for her.
Measure B – this is a 1/2% Sales Tax Increase in to the general fund of Roseville. There is no control, despite the claims of the campaign, on how it is spent. I can not justify supporting this as the city has not demonstrated they have cut their budget, outsourced services, etc. to the extent that they can justify that their only answer is to go to the well. The city has had a 106% increase in Sales Tax in the last 8 years. If you use the accepted standard of a 10 year period, it is 70%. Population and inflation have been 38%. Why are they short of money? Please vote no and make them justify their decisions versus handing them more and hoping it will work out.
Ballot Propositions: No on everything except –
Prop 5 – extends Proposition 13 tax protections. Vote Yes
Prop 6 – despite the intentionally deceptive title and summary, this is a repeal of a massive tax increase on your car and fuel. Vote Yes
Prop 7 – I absolutely ABHOR Daylight Savings time. Vote Yes so the legislature can fix this without having to amend the constitution to do so. Vote Yes
Special note about Prop 4, 8, 11 – all are medical industry related. All were put on the ballot by interests that would DIRECTLY benefit from the passage of the Ballot Measure. This is an abuse of the Initiative process. Reject them all regardless of the merits of the issue.

Thanks for the info. You and I voted for the exact same candidates, except, of course, those in my area and district. Its nice ti know that I am thinking RIGHT on the same side as you you voted on.
Michele Vass, squish.
thanks Aaron!
