We have had bits and pieces of jail cover-ups come in, we covered the Blythe Jail Incident and its’ cover up, we have info including an incident in the Murrieta Jail where a Nurse was taken hostage (which we need details on), another escape from a prison bus and this:
Let’s not forget about the murder suspect that was being transported from Blythe to Indio and had a handcuff key up his ass. He <sic> his pants causing the Dep to roll down the window and the asshole jumped out the window. They caught the guy a year later in Texas it some <sic>.
How bout the two deputies that caught a criminal case after they were giving extra commissary to female inmates in exchange for blow jobs and sex. Got found out when an inmate wrote home about the on duty booty.
How bout Angela Parks doing surveillance on murder witnesses for East Side Riva because she was in love with an inmate. That case made People magazine. https://people.com/archive/love-and-betrayal-on-the-force-vol-64-no-16/amp/
How bout the Sgt at Indio Jail that was allowed to resign because he was fudging his 344 and wasn’t even showing up for his shifts?
Some of these aren’t during Sniffs time as Sheriff and show an ineptitude of some staff and a culture of cover ups. If Sniff were to win this would only continue and the cover ups would continue.

We need to clean up the corruption in Riverside County.
You want to send a message, BOYCOTT the sheriff’s picnic. Its just an event for Sniff to campaign and play with the dogs.

The Murrieta jail incident was due to a faulty lock on the door. Admin has known for years that the Byrd cage jail has aging plumbing and security infrastructure. The inmate was placed in a program room and the lock cycled open. The inmate ran down the hall and took the nurse hostage. The nurse was not harmed, but the inmate said he did it just to prove a point.
Steve Giles is not one to talk and was her/his own train wreck. But Sgt Fredericks is a Sniff-enabled disaster. Admin swept that DUI tc under the rug. Then they swept his recent parking issue under the rug. Fredericks illegally parked his county car, causing it to be towed. Once Fredericks got word of it, he called the tow company and threatened to arrest the whole family. He quickly was removed from detective sergeant and put on patrol. If it were line staff, that deputy would get 80 hours off.
It’s sad people have lost faith in the department due to a whole list of problems. I remember when the badge stood for honesty, integrity etc. I agree we need fresh leadership, but that starts on the deputy level up. How are we being a solution and not a problem? When you leave the uniform, how does the world remember you? A person of good moral character? I see a bunch of good people getting promoted and a bunch of morons getting promoted. It’s called the gene pool the human race. As a Marine I led from the front. As a deputy I always told the truth no matter how ugly, and even offended some in the process and did the best job I could. I made my fair share of mistakes, but honest ones. Am I perfect, nope, but I honored the badge. I truly hope those throwing stones don’t live in glass houses. Those who do wrong should be punished, fairly . Shouldn’t matter who you know or don’t , no matter what rank, friend of whose, whatever who they donate to etc. Whoever wins in November, whoever wins I hope they bring this department up to date with technology, training , leadership , and pride and bring back the core values of what it means to be a law enforcement officer. If the allegations are true of wrongdoing by higher ups, lower personal then I truely hope the Sheriff distances himself from them and shows the department even higher ups are punishable. If those who read this have broken the law, violated the code of ethics, like sleeping with victims, recruits, other people’s wife husbands behind their backs and tarnished the badge, be up front about it and move on, be a real leader. Also if you climb the rank by ass kissing, then you have to look in the mirror and know that’s who you just are, an ass kisser. But don’t be ashamed because some captain or chief allowed you to ride their coattails, own that shit. because all know who you are. For the rest of us , stay safe , stay honest, watch over your brothers and sisters, honor the badge and come home to your families every night. Godspeed Sheepdogs!
John Doe – well put and I and many others hope for a change in leadership. The problems rest soley on administration. Their bias, hypocrisy and favoritism led us to this point.
But we all know 95% of the Department are honest hard working professionals. These are the people I have great respect and admiration. These same hard working employees, Inhave great concern for thier careers.
