Suzanne Jones: Opposed Bayside Soccer Fields, Used by Everyone and Free of Charge to Taxpayers?

by | Feb 12, 2024 | 2024 Elections, Suzanne Jones | 0 comments

You have a chance to get soccer fields that the County of Placer does not have to pay for? What did Suzanne do? Listened to the same liars that attempted to scuttle Bayside Church from even being built nearly 30 years ago.

This is the lie mailer from a small group of leftists and NIMBYS. (They happen to be Suzanne Jones’ Core Supporters)

HOW TWO POLITICIANS ALMOST STOPPED FREE SOCCER FIELDS FOR GRANITE BAY/ROSEVILLE/ROCKLIN. People aren’t too focused on it, but we have elections important for the future of Placer County coming up March 5. Suzanne Jones, the incumbent supervisor for part of Roseville, Granite Bay, and parts of Loomis and Newcastle, is up for re-election. One of those running for supervisor to represent Rocklin, Loomis and Penryn is Placer County Planning Commissioner Anthony DeMattei.
Both Suzanne and Anthony opposed Bayside Church Granite Bay‘s effort to build lighted soccer fields on Sierra College Boulevard for the young people of our community to use – using no taxpayer money. Suzanne and Anthony sided with a small but vocal group of opponents who distributed flyers that depicted the lights as something akin to what you’d see at a major league sports stadium, an effort to scare people . Why lighted? Because fields with no lights couldn’t be used during weeknights for five to six months of the year.
Thankfully, Suzanne and Anthony didn’t succeed. The Planning Commission narrowly approved the lighted fields 3-2 (Anthony and Suzanne Jones’s planning commissioner opposed) and Suzanne Jones, despite the fact that her community would benefit from the fields, was the only one of five supervisors who voted against it.
We need supervisors who will work with our community – not oppose it. Frankly, Suzanne and Anthony should have been thanking Bayside for being willing to build these sports fields for the community’s benefit. An added benefit: new parking for people who want to access the trail system off Sierra College Boulevard. There used to be only 10 spots to park – now there is plenty for everyone.
By opposing the lights for Bayside’s Soccer fields, Suzanne was effectively rendering them useless – the goal of the Granite Bay NIMBYS. These are the same NIMBYS that ran Sandy Harris (Suzanne’s MAC Board Member) and Pam Tobin (the leftist Labor Union advocate) against Ted Gaines and Kirk Uhler for Supervisor 30 years ago. They also sued and lost badly in court trying to sabotage the construction of Bayside in the first place.
Oh and the lights? Here is what they actually look like:
Now that is quite a bit different, huh?
PROOF:
Woodward is the far-left democrat that Suzanne Jones appointed to the Planning Commission. EVEN JIM HOLMES voted Yes for Bayside’s Soccer Fields!
The Placer GOP should be ashamed of themselves for endorsing Suzanne Jones, this is what rage and refusal to vet candidates does to people.
