!El Hewitt, Cuando Es En Mexico, Hace Lo Que Los Vecinos Que Hacen!

The problem is that the Mexican “LaRaza” anthem salute was inside America in Riverside County. I guess this “libertarian” needs to do more research about the conduct of American electeds.

Perhaps Hewitt’s disdain for America is best summed up in this speech he delivered to the National Libertarian Party: https://www.lp.org/sotu2019/.

In our prisons, hundreds of thousands are behind bars for no just reason at all. These are the victims of mass incarceration, a misbegotten “tough on crime” and “war on drugs” mentality that punishes people who have harmed nobody, thus devastating communities and destroying lives in the process.”
“Assembly-line justice makes a mockery of our constitutional rights. Coercive plea bargaining has turned the sacred right to a jury trial into a rarely seen farce. And the absurd proliferation of laws has made criminals of us all. Libertarians say: Too often, our justice system is a system of injustice. It is a stain on this nation’s conscience … a moral crisis of our time.”
I am surprised Black Lives Matter and other get-out-of-jail-free card groups have not endorsed this guy. I am sure DA Mike Hestrin and the Sheriff’s Union will love this quote. Hewitt’s logic is what passed Prop 47 and Prop 57, leading to lawlessness in many California cities.
As a stimulus measure, Riverside County supervisors today approved easing the application process for individuals and businesses seeking to establish cannabis retail outlets and cultivation sites in unincorporated communities.  “Let the free market determine how many dispensaries people want,” Supervisor Jeff Hewitt said. “Let’s allow the market to determine the winners and losers.” (City News Service, 5/19/20)
Fascinating. Let me translate Hewitt’s libertarian-speak: “Let the cartels determine how much dope flows across the border” with Hewitt’s attitude towards crime and punishment, we ought to set up free injection sites on his property (that he can barely afford, more on that soon). Maybe Jeff himself will pay for clean needles for the addicts he wants to coddle? And perhaps his failed pool service company can atone for the customers it ripped off by cleaning up after the addicts Hewitt wants to pamper? San Francisco is a great model for Hewitt.
Money to bolster public safety in unincorporated areas and add seasonal firefighters to help wildfire-strained stations is among $16.9 million changes to Riverside County’s $6.9 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday greenlighted the changes in a 4-1 vote, with Supervisor Jeff Hewitt voting no after his colleagues rejected his proposal to allocate $10 million toward the county’s $3.6 billion pension debt. (Press-Enterprise article dated 6/17/21)
Similar to his godfather Ron Paul, Hewitt comes up with really great sounding reasons to do the wrong thing; in this case, he voted against adding more police and fire even though there was plenty of money in the budget to do it. Worse, he attempted to attach something totally unrelated to extort a vote from his colleagues. That is a boomer of a mistake, and perhaps stunts like this are why Hewitt’s colleagues can’t stand him.
More deputies were the top ask in a recent survey of what residents in unincorporated areas wanted from county government. Supervisors also have heard from those who want funding ticketed for the sheriff to be spent on social programs to help disadvantaged communities.  The board’s changes don’t include jail money but give the sheriff $5.5 million for unincorporated-area patrols.
Everybody in unincorporated areas should know that Jeff Hewitt opposed getting them more cops.
Twisted logic, voting poorly – this is the libertarian experience in government. The Jeff Hewitt experience is so much more…
