ICYMI: The Local Media Started Lighting Stan Sniff Up In Early February

by | Mar 24, 2018 | 2018 Elections, Riverside County Sheriff's Race, Stan Sniff | 15 comments

Remember the cheating scandal as broken on the Right on Daily Blog 1/22/2018? Someone sent a copy of the almost the entire file to the Desert Sun. Your intrepid blogger broke the story, but we had to exercise caution, because unlike the New York Times or the Washington Post who use anonymous sources as cover to write whatever they want, we do not have millions to pay Attorneys at Right on Daily. So we wrote the following:

Then we have the well-known case of a cheating scandal on advancement exams, Note, once again people worried about being identified. What is central in this cheating scandal is Jason Gxxx being promoted, as his wife is a $120k a year administrative assistant to the Sheriff. The correspondence I got continues:

(Source deleted) …150 deputies were caught up in it. Because of the scope of it, admin stopped the Investigators from identifying more and told them to only investigate the ten worst offenders. All offenders were given 16 hours of discipline including one who was caught outright lying, normally a firing offense. Included in this group was a Deputy named Jason Gxxx. Gxxx is married to (XX), Sniff’s $120k a year secretary. Not only was Gxxx allowed to stay on the promotion list, he was promoted to the very rank he cheated to get in November. The promotion list just came out for this last testing cycle, and Gxxx finished very high on the Sergeants list and will likely promote to that rank.

We thank the Desert Sun for blowing the lid off the scandal with a very long and detailed article.

Two and a half years ago, an internal investigation at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department uncovered that 25 employees attempted to cheat their way to a higher rank by sharing questions and answers from a confidential promotional exam.

While the number of deputies involved is the subject of debate because Stan Sniff halted the investigation in order to cover it up, the point stands. This creates a “Brady Issue” mess because now people can have their convictions overturned due to the impugned integrity of the cheaters. I have been told at least one public defender is filing motions related to the two people outed in the Sun Article. If they read this blog they will have a third name, I suppose.

Earlier in the week, Stan Sniff got used like a punching bag. People’s frustrations are boiling over with the malfeasance and mismanagement of the out of control tyrant.

State Senator Jeff Stone blasted Stan Sniff on his Facebook Page. That takes courage, because Sniff responds in kind and Stone has skin in the game so to speak.

“My friends, the Sheriff Stan Sniff I would select then and know and work with, is NOT the same Sheriff Stan Sniff I see today,” Stone wrote. “I have heard from many of his troops who are concerned and ironically relay some of the same complaints then deputy Stan Sniff had with his predecessor!”

Stone continued: While some handle power responsibly, “a small number actually let the power go (to) their heads making their public endeavors more complicated and problematic.”

OUCH.

Then supervisor John Taviglione who has inexplicably endorsed Hemet Dave, was quoted in two articles unloading on Stan Sniff.

Supervisor Rips On Sheriff About Financials, Calls Him ‘Child’

Riverside County supervisor tells sheriff to ‘man up’ and fix budget overruns

“Our elected sheriff is living in the 20th century,” Tavaglione said. “He is unable to manage his organization in an effective way. The sheriff is sitting back, like a child, and continues to demand more funds that we don’t have. We keep telling him that, over and over like a broken record. It’s the damn truth.”

It really sucks to be Sheriff Sniff. The local media is waking up to his legacy of failure. We’ve been hammering Sniff for his mismanagement of the Sheriff’s department since we took the case in October. To those of you that have been hurt by this guy, help is here. We will continue to break stories and expose the dark underbelly of the second floor gulag as we march towards the forced retirement of a failed Sheriff.

Perhaps this is why Sniff dropped the hammer on the Press-Enterprise:

Why did this never appear in the Press Enterprise?

John Bender, Editor for the Press Enterprise of Riverside was in charge of making sure the Chad Bianco retaliation story came out.  After it came out (01-04-18) sometime in late Jan 2018, he was transferred to the PE Rancho Cucamonga Office (located in San Bernardino County). He was with the PE of Riverside for 15 years.

When I spoke to him….  I asked him:  Did they transfer you because of the Chad Bianco story.? His response: “Appears to be.”

  1. Aaron, most of the information you receive is accurate, but every now and then there are some inaccuracies mixed in. I think it’s important to point out an inaccuracy that I see here.

“All offenders were given 16 hours of discipline including one who was caught outright lying, normally a firing offense.”

This information is not accurate and it should be pointed out that some of the involved parties received absolutely zero discipline (certain people who were assigned to Lake Elsinore) while others got hit for anywhere between 8 hours and 40 hours. I know this to be factual, as a matter of fact, the guy who had nothing to gain and was completely forthright received a “colon cleansing” to the tune of 40 hours of pay reduction.

Somehow Sniff and DiYorio have developed their own scale of different levels of wrongdoing, depending on who they like and who they don’t like. They do everything they can to keep the punishment they dole out confidential (“It’s a personnel matter”) because they do have their own scale of favoritism.

I don’t blame any of this lopsided treatment on any of the individuals who were “focus employees” because the only ones to blame here are Sniff and his administration. In this case more than any other (and there have been many over the past 10 years) Sniff had EVERYTHING to do with directing the investigation and the outcome of how he doled out punishment. This entire situation was totally mishandled from beginning to end and Sniff and his “brought out of retirement crony” DiYorio are to blame for the entire disaster.

We have to ask ourselves, have these morons done anything to change the testing process so this doesn’t happen again? Or do they believe that stern threats via department memorandums will change the tide of human nature.

    SNIFF MUST GO!!!

  2. John the problem with the discipline is the department matrix state TERMINATION is the action for cheating on a promotional exam no other option! The Under sheriff is not a bad guy just harsh and to the point he doesn’t like lazy people so the self entitled cry babies complain about him

  3. The issue with the Undersheriff is that he is responsible for the day to day operation of what has turned into a disaster of an organization. He states his responsibility every time Sniff gives one of his retarded speeches at a promo ceremony. So while you are entitled to have your own opinion of him, he is as big a failure as Sniff is. While Sniff is running around campaigning, The Undersheriff is supposed to be responsible for running the organization.

I admit that I also thought he was an ok guy back in the day, but since he was brought out of retirement and crowned by the emperor, he has become a HUGE part of the problem. Just ask anyone who has had an assignment where DiYorio stepped in and told them to change their findings of an investigation (usually to get someone he like off the hook for lying). If I didn’t want to throw people under the bus, I could give you several examples that I personally know of. I guarantee you there are some reading this who are cringing and hoping their name doesn’t get mentioned.

I won’t drop names because it’s not about them, it’s about the fools who run this organization.

    I SAY DRAIN THE SWAMP!!

  4. Note – this was a repost of an old article. I found out that Jason Colmer was given 40 hours and Jason Gore was only given 8 hours. I believe Cornett did not get a thing (other than promoted like Gore). I’ve also found out that a few others on the list of cheaters also got promoted. I will be following up.

  5. Diyoyo is a HUGE part of the problem and the corruption and day to day failures land at his feet as well as the Sheriff. Unbelievable. The dude is retiring in the middle of an election year, that should tell us everything!

  6. Good Afternoon!!! Life is Good!!!

  7. HAHAHA! Light em up baby!

  8. Tony P WTF? I thought we were down like four flats on a Cadillac. Are you mad about the Colin Kaepernick thing? You blocked me from viewing your Facebook Page. Cornett even blocked me. You can’t be mad at me for pointing things out and giving folks the truth. Well anyway I gotta bring up the folks at P.S.B .

P.S.B. is something else they didn’t follow protocol when they had to deal with Darkman. “Wade ” why did you search me before I walked in for my first interview? Of course I am a black man. “Wade” why didn’t you search me when I went in for my second interview? Of course there was a meeting and I am sure you were told it was wrong. Why was my picture posted on the wall on the second floor.? I had a buddy take a pic of it. Really R.S.O. no due process I was still employed by the department when I was considered to be armed and dangerous. Damn all I was doing was being a black man!!! “Wade” why were you so afraid of me? During the interview you said, ” You are making me nervous.” I got a kick out of watching you shake while you were asking me questions. “Wade” you know everything I am saying is true. By the way two white men yelling at me didn’t scare me at all. I actually enjoyed the little show you guys put on. I am sure you were saying to yourself if this big motherfucker goes sideways we are in trouble.

The day I get my walking papers Sean Vickers you have your gun on your hip. That’s not protocol in P.S.B. but I get it. We are about to terminate this black man let me put my gun on in case I have to shoot him. There are other people that you gave walking papers and you didn’t have your gun on. Everyone in that basement knew the D.OJ. searched my place for guns. Y’all even knew I willing cooperated with Tony P and gave him my guns.

Keep in mind my private investigator worked at P.S.B. and retired from R.S.O.

  9. Was the list of those caught cheating ever released?

  10. I have the document. I am writing a follow-up soon and naming more names. My first post on the cheating scandal named 5 people. There are 26 total, but several others mentioned that PSB never followed up on but not all were dirty.

  11. I want to point out that the article written by the Desert Sun was partially reported. Sniffer along with his Gestapo staff NEGOTIATED with Brett ( the reporter who covered the story) not to report the complete truth in exchange for having FIRST HAND knowledge of PRESS -RELEASES….. Brett was also admonished that if he continued writing shit on Sniffer the Desert Sun would SUFFER the consequences by having ZERO Press- Release information on crime from the Riverside Sheriff.

  12. Can you say ABUSE OF POWER? That’s what Stan Sniff and his second floor puppet show is all about. It has been working for him so long that it has become commonplace. I agree with Adams,

    DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!!

  13. Ya see Sniffles, Deputies DO talk. This is an eval from a website where Riverside Sheriff employees rate their experience having worked for or a currently working for (Riverside Sheriff’s Dept). (I took screen shots)

    This statement was from a ‘former’ Correctional Deputy written in 2013;

“Corrections only, as I have no experience with patrol with this department. When you are new, they tell you how it’s all a big family, blah blah…If they like you, you’re good to go. If you don’t fit their clique, you are screwed.

They offer lots of good stuff like sick time, but if you dare use it, you get written up. Lots of affirmative action favoritism in promotions, and incompetent supervisors, as corrections is the purgatory for sworn supervisors who mess up.

Not only are they incompetent, they are angry as well and take out their frustrations on the jail staff. The double standards of corrections v sworn deputies is like 1950’s Alabama with correctional deputies coming up on the short end.

In the end it’s just a job, not a career, and watch your back so one of your co-workers doesn’t put a knife in it to make themselves look good. I’d go with CDC if I was you, at least you can carry off duty, not like here (RSO) unless they like you and you pay hundreds of dollars for a CCW permit, then you MIGHT get to.”

  14. Dang French that’s some serious freedom of the press pressure. I’m sure Chad wouldn’t silence them.

  15. I couldn’t help but laugh when reading Jeff Stone’s comment re Sniff. Talk about lack of integrity, corruption and abuse of power……’Brothers in crime’

It was Sniff that Stone called when he was pulled over for road rage incident against an innocent. Stone flashed a State recalled badge that he wasn’t supposed to be brandishing or carrying and threatened the young driver of the car Stone nearly ran into. PE.com

It was Stone who called Sniff when the drunk Murrieta councilman Long ran into the back of a car filled with teenagers, Stone trying to get Sniff to cover-up the accident. Several teens were injured and parents sued the councilman. PE.com

It was Stone who was in trouble with his family member Bail Bondsman Fausto Atilano for pretending to be cops, and assaulting people, and kicking people’s doors down and making false arrests. And Sniff trying to cover the blunders. PE.com/Internal 2nd flr

It was also Jeff Stone that steamrolled a new ordinance through to prevent picketers from protesting at Scientology’s Gold Base in Hemet (RS territory). The Scientologists donate to Stone’s campaigns at every opportunity. PE.com

*Note: RS Deputies don’t respond to Soboba (RS) area anymore – after randomly killing a couple of the tribe members there. A shoot and ask questions later incident.

It was Stone who had a Bernstein piece done on him for making a profit off of a Race for Life Charity – Stone laughed and said he didn’t see any problem with him profiting off of a charity event. He had no remorse. PE.com

It was Jeff Stone who didn’t report all of his campaign donations and was fined for it. PE.com

And it was Stone who was investigated for allowing his campaign manager (SISTER) to drive county cars, pay for her fuel and expenses and a fat $300,000 a year salary. Which Stan Sniff knew about. PE.com

Stone moved his office out to the desert area where he and Sniff lunch often.

Jeff Stone and Stan Sniff are joined at the hip and anyone who denies it – has shit for brains.
