The Yolo GOP think that the State Republican Leadership are committing suicide and are wasting resources trying a referendum against the district lines drawn by the idiots on the redistricting commission. The fight between the two is intensifying…

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yolo COUNTY REPUBLICAN Central Committee TAKES A STAND AGAINST STATE PARTY ON CITIZENS commission REFERENDUM.

Woodland, CA. – September 12th 2011 The Yolo County Republican Central Committee today is announcing their formal opposition to the proposed referendum seeking to overturn the work of the Independent Redistricting Commission by the California Republican Party.

“ This is bad decision by the Californian Republican Party  This a time where we need leadership – not partisan bickering.  Our State has been particularly hard hit by this bad economy and our citizens need results.  I am more worried about keeping jobs in California than I am helping State Senators keeping their jobs.” said Kirby Wells the Vice- Chairman of the Yolo County Republican Central Committee.

The Central Committee must feel the same way as they voted unanimously to pass the motion as presented by Glenn Holderreed is as  follows in its entirely:

“The objective of the Republican Party is to expand its voter base and to elect Republican candidates.  The Yolo County Republican Central Committee believes the current efforts of the California Republican Party to overturn the Citizens Redistricting Commission State Senate and Congressional maps are counterproductive.  This committee wishes to communicate to other Central Committees and to the California Republican Party our adamant opposition to any legal or referendum effort to overturn the State Senate and Congressional maps submitted by the Citizens Redistricting Commission.  We also direct our chairman to communicate these thoughts to the appropriate California Republican Party officials.

Holderreed commented, “This is a waste of resources.  We need to lead with positive ideas to create jobs and prosperity.”

This motion and vote closely follows the announcement by the Yolo County Republican Central Committee of their recommendation to the State Party that no lawsuits should be filed against the Independent Redistricting commission except in the secondary support of a disenfranchised minority group’s legal action.  The Central Committee went on to specifically commend the work of the Redistricting Committee members – while noting that mistakes had been made – the overwhelming opinion was that the members had worked hard for the best result for the State and it’s citizens.

This action pits the Northern California Yolo County Republican Central Committee against the powerful talk show CRP Chairman Tom Del Beccaro.  With the Republican State Convention this coming week in Los Angeles the outcome of this stand by the little County from Northern California will play out on the much larger Statewide platform.

I agree. Lawsuits suck. The legal system sucks. Using it for political means only makes one look like a nimrod.

Today – the LA Times covered former GOP Governor (and the spiritual leader of the RINO’s) Pete Wilson rising up out of retirement once again to lend his support to the upcoming referendum against the State Senate lines drawn up by the “Citizens” commission. Pete Wilson is right on this one.

… So is the Yolo GOP.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YOLO COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE VOTES TO OPPOSE ANY LEGAL ACTION AGAINST REDISTRICTING MAPS.

Davis CA – August 25th, 2011. The Yolo County Republican Central Committee met at its regular meeting and debated the merits of potential legal challenges to the Citizens Redistricting Committee final maps by the State Party.  After much discussion and debate the motion was made to recommend to the California Republican State Party our opposition against all such actions.  The motion was passed without opposition with one abstention.

The motion reads as follows:  This committee recommends that the California Republican Party refrain from a direct lawsuit by itself against the Citizens Redistricting Commission.  While agreeing there were flaws in the remapping, the Central Committee commended the hard-working Californians who served on this project.  “To our knowledge we are the first and only Republican Central Committee to take this action” said Glenn Holderreed Committee Secretary.

Vice-Chair Kirby Wells stated, “The Yolo Republican Committee believes that this Redistricting Committee reflects that Californians are demanding a fair approach to redistricting; not the normal “back door deals made under the previous legislative control of the process.  We need to work on solutions for California and certainly not block forward progress.”

Central Committees generally are expected to support their Republican incumbents –

It should also be noted that the Yolo GOP Treasurer was responsible for the investigation that led to the Democrats getting caught flaunting Campaign finance laws. Maybe John Fronefeld should teach a seminar at the California Republican Party Convention about how to catch the Democrats breaking the law…

It should be noted that the Yolo GOP is following the precedent set by the Placer GOP – albeit for two candidates with no significant opposition (as vs. when the Placer GOP endorsed McClintock over Doug Ose in 2008).

Could the FPPC be the next fine they get?

I have chronicled how the Yolo County Clerk Recorder is in the bag with Gavin Newsome, ACORN and the like. We all know that the FPPC – the State Campaign Finance Regulatory Arm – is rather selective about their enforcement of Campaign Finance Laws.

Enter Mark Pruner. Mark is the reputed “Moderate” Chairman of the Yolo County Republican Party. Unlike most so-called Moderates, Mark actually volunteers significant time – including suing Jerry Brown over his expired Law License. Even though Brown’s friends on the State Supreme Court rendered their service to the Dem Party – dismissing the suit… Pruner still pressed it. Now the AG who Pruner sued is in charge of the licensing agency overseeing Pruner’s Law License.

Sorry – most Moderates (aka RINO’s) I have ever met sit on their butts and whine about the GOP while cutting deals with Democrats.

Attached is a letter from the FEC to Mr. Pruner after Pruner successfully pressed the issue about the Yolo County Democrat Party flaunting campaign finance laws. Some will remember the non-story pushed in Placer County over our Central Committee and one check – take a look at the press release from the Yolo County GOP to see what a real Campaign Finance Issue Looks like:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
YOLO COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE AND DAVIS DEMOCRATIC CLUB FINED BY FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISSION
Davis, CA – The Yolo County Democratic Central Committee (YCDCC) and the Davis Democratic Club have entered into a settlement with the Federal Election Commission.  A settlement with the FEC was reached which included payment of a $1500 civil penalty by the YCDCC.

The action, under case number ADR512 and ADR513 stem from allegations by Mark Pruner, Chairman of the Yolo County Republican Central Committee that the Davis Democratic Club received contributions in excess of $80,000.00 and failed to report the funds and expenditures as required by law.  An additional allegation cites one 2004 expenditure by the YCDCC made to MoveOn.org of $5,000.00 that went unreported.

The YCDCC in its response, contended that they “may have inadvertently” qualified as a political committee in 2004, but due to the scarcity of records could not assess the level of activity.”

In addition to agreeing to pay the fine, the Yolo County Democratic Central Committee has agreed to hire a compliance specialist and will be required to send two representatives to a Federal Election Commission conference.  The Davis Democratic Club will also be required to send a representative to a Federal Election Commission Conference.

An investigation is also in process at the State level before the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).

Upon reading the action by the FEC, Kirby Wells, Yolo County Republican Committee vice chair stated, “All we want to see is a level playing field.  Now that the FEC has acted, the Yolo County Democratic Committee and the Davis Democratic Club are required to abide by the same rules we have been following.”  Wells also called upon the FPPC to “complete the process” and finish their investigation so that a full and complete picture of the scope of the YCDCC finance reporting failures could be ascertained by the public.

Yolo County Republican Party? How about news that despite a Clerk-Recorder who issued Gay Marriage licenses in defiance of state law along with Any-Twosome-Newsome, a Clerk-Recorder aligned with ACORN – the Yolo GOP pressed home a successful attack against the Yolo County Democrat Central Committee?

Sound far-fetched? Stay tuned.

Want more? How about the revelation that a member of the Yolo County Republican Central Committee is an ally of the extreme left in San Francisco and is actively working to attempt to undermine Republicans in office?

Yolo County – 28% Republican, but the scene of some fireworks.
