(Pictured, one of the correctional Captains, Captain Nimrod/Negron )
From an informant:
I’m surprised you haven’t covered the Blythe Jail takeover from about 5-6 years ago. This was a serious Sniff coverup and it is still very hush hush. I don’t know all the details, but it goes like this… Blythe jail is an old school bars jail in Blythe. Very small and understaffed. The inmates staged a ruse and took the staff hostage. I believe one Sergeant was tased and assaulted. The second floor has been very quiet about debriefing this because they don’t want staff at other jails and the public to see how dangerous our Corrections division is. Jail staff at other facilities would appreciate a formal debriefing to learn what went wrong and try to eliminate it from happening again. The second floor refuses and is covering up something. Some involved have been ordered not to talk about it. I believe it was released to media, but they were given a very brief statement. I an sure if you put it out there, you will get more Intel. I saw this incident as the biggest Sniff disaster and the employees were not taken care of afterwards.
BLYTHE, Calif. —Four Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were seriously injured by inmates at Blythe Jail early Sunday morning. Two deputies at the jail were conducting security checks of inmate cells at about 2:20 a.m. when they were assaulted by inmates.
Two more deputies responded to assist the victims who were physically fighting with the attacking inmates, according to the sheriff’s department. Those two deputies were also assaulted by the inmates.
All four deputies were seriously injured and were given medical treatment at a local hospital.
Officers from the Blythe Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Colorado River Station responded to assist jail personnel. The inmates remained secure and were unable to escape.
Four inmates were identified in the attack. Fabian Florence Perez, 30, from Indio; Joseph Roy Scott, 25, from Indio; Louie Aguilar, 33, from Blythe; and David Gazcon Jr., 34, from Desert Hot Springs face criminal charges including attempted murder, attempted escape, conspiracy and assaulting/injuring a peace officer while serving time in a correctional facility.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator Morelock at (760) 921-7900.
Note that any mention of the hostage situation is exterminated from the information reported. Where was the review of security protocol? Also Note – this happened on 12/31/2013 right before Stanley was up for re-election against Chad Bianco in 2014, so the nexus for covering up the situation was clear. There was no mention that regular deputies had to respond to the jail to restore order. There is no mention of the sexual assault of a Correctional Deputy. Both the female Deputy and the Correctional Sergeant who was tased or beaten up likely were discarded and their worker’s comp claim fought to the bitter end, and worse with the second floor gag order they had little or no recourse.
Once again, the poor decisions of Stan Sniff have real world and instant bad results.
Oh my God what is pretty little Janelle going to do when she actually has inmate contact in Blythe? At least she won’t have to guard anyone that her husband arrests because his handcuffs are covered in dust and rust.
Old patterns and bad habits from the old fart who needs to retire or get his old wrinkled ass beaten at the voting polls by Chad Bianco.!
Man that Sniff dude is a fuck up!
Another Sniff cover up how quaint. Judging by the ass clowns he has in charge of Indio and Smith any future scandal will be hidden as well.
The inmates were gang members, and they had another inmate fake an illness to go to the hospital. At that point the inmates were able to get the deputies to open the cell door and the fight was on. They took the sergeant and a Deputy hostage. Another Deputy responded and was also taken hostage. The female staff member ran to a room and called 911. But the inmates forced their way into the room and took the female Deputy hostage. The sergeant was seriously injured during the incident. They had to call outside agencies to restore control of the jail. And there is video of the take over, but so far it has not been released for training purposes. A big problem is the lack of staffing at the Blythe jail, which caused this to occur, in addition to posssibe policy violations, which may be the true reason the video was never released. And all four staff members that were taken hostage were given awards, which no one understands why. They lost control of the jail and were taken hostage, got a serious beat down, and are given a medal? This just shows the incompetence of the chowderheads on the second floor.
What a bunch of crap. Deputies at the Lake Elsinore Station engage with an active shooter with an AK as the suspect is trying to shoot down our helicopter before the bad guy gets shot. And what do the patrol deputies get, nothing. Yet jail deputies lose the jail to the inmates, had to call for other agencies to get rescued, and end up going to the hospital for the beating they got, and they get an award, you got to be kidding me. And how many inmates went to the hospital for the injuries they received during the fight? None I bet. And the second floor wonders why no one has any faith in the decisions they make.
Greg “Kung Fu Panda” Negron is a sworn Captain, but is also a political appointee. He did his patrol time in Temecula, (about a year or so), and then went to Lake Elsinore working motors, so he has very limited patrol experience. Negron was the driver for former Sheriff Bobby Doyle, and was promoted from Deputy to Sergeant. He went to the main jail in Riverside for 3 years, then to the Comm. Center for about a year and was promoted to Lt. Although because he was a Bobby Doyle/Frank Robles supporter, he was in bad standing (and having a picture of Bobby Doyle in his office did not help him out either). He spent something like 7 years in corrections before going to the Temecula Station, where he spent less that a year on patrol before going to traffic. So Negron’s law enforcement experience is less than others. but he can drive a politician around like it’s no one’s business. That and the King Fu Crane move. Greg, everyone told you not to go this route, but you did it anyway my friend, so you have no right to complain when the facts are brought to light. And you need to update your dance moves, they are not sexy at all.
I was on duty when I heard a female voice screamed bloody murder over the radio “11-99” I heard there were so much blood all over the jail it looked like a murder scene. Some of the inmates were in for capital murder and will most likely ever see Day light. The main reason for the beat down was bc the Sgt. On duty was a complete asshole to the inmates. I know the inmates don’t have anything coming but when the number of inmates to is 115 inmates to 4 staff members a certain amount of respect has to be in order to make things work. But don’t worry the deputies all got awards and medals and some promoted.
Only in “Riverside Country” could this occur. Unbelievable to say the least. The second floor should be ashamed, but they have no shame. A good example is Jughead Vest, he was recently at the Academy and he exhibited such pride and arrogance that his ego could have blown the roof off the building. And he only did two years on patrol, and that’s including his FTO time before going to motors. And he’s executive staff material. We can only hope that Bianco. cleans house come January.
We also had a take over of a jail bus by a gang members as well. But that was never accurately debriefed either. And at the jail in Murrieta we had an inmate take a nurse hostage in the medical office, but no news coverage on that either. And Sniff and his second floor profiteers campaigned on a platform of transparency, It’s all about staying in power and promoting their golden children as they hold everyone else accountable for the mistakes of others. Thank you Aaron for exposing the malfeasance, mismanagement, incompetence, corruption and the disparity in treatment in promotions and discipline by the miscreants that occupy the second floor.
That’s right Hell or High Water. A CD was driving an EME associate who tried to kill cops to RPDC alone and ended up getting pepper sprayed. The suspect was caught after a few hours but not after a multi agency search located him. Why was an unarmed CD transporting this guy who later was a shot caller at RPDC?
@Sniff loves curly Nads. It was the other way around. He was being transported to court in Indio. I could right more but it would take too long. Long story short, there was a pattern and practice of making staff violate policy due to short staffing. There were also using old equipment. Needless to say, but the Department doesn’t give a crap about line staff.
Let’s not forget about the murder suspect that was being transported from Blythe to Indio and had a handcuff key up his ass. He shit his pants causing the Dep to roll down the window and the asshole jumped out the window. They caught the guy a year later in Texas it some shit.
How bout the two deputies that caught a criminal case after they were giving extra commissary to female inmates in exchange for blow jobs and sex. Got found out when an inmate wrote home about the on duty booty.
How bout Angela Parks doing surveillance on murder witnesses for East Side Riva because she was in love with an inmate. That case made People magazine. https://people.com/archive/love-and-betrayal-on-the-force-vol-64-no-16/amp/
How bout the Sgt at Indio Jail that was allowed to resign because he was fudging his 344 and wasn’t even showing up for his shifts?
Some of these aren’t during Sniffs time as Sheriff and show an ineptitude of some staff and a culture of cover ups. If Sniff were to win this would only continue and the cover ups would continue.
The Sniff reign of terror has yielded some of the worst supervisors ever!!!
Sgt Chad Loeffler. Multiple DUI incidences. Almost hit deputy with car and whipped it out at crime scene. He got multiple slaps on wrist. He even lied in a personnel investigation and was given an opportunity to give a better interview. Sgt Frank Schiavone- multiple cases of relationships with subordinates.
There is zero mentoring and zero leadership training. Only the cool kids get SLI these days.
Stanley you fuck
How much more “cover up” are we going to let that fucker Stanley get away with. There has been a lot of issues and some even criminal uncovered. Stanley runs among the ranks of Mike Corona and Lee Baca. Time to run that fucker out of office.
As for Janelle and Ryan those two are a waste. They are actually going to have to work in Blythe there’s no hiding under Kurylowicz’s desk Ryan.
Stanley you portray yourself as this great military leader but really you are a coward and a want to be soldier. Daddy was always there to protect you. Shit you’re still hanging off your dad’s coat tail going back to daddy’s friends begging for money. Look at the numbers you idiot 68% of the people voted for someone else.
Not going to waste anymore of my time on you I leave you with this your attempt to take over RSA failed and at the end of the game you got Ryan and Janelle shoved up your ass.
Good night Stanley I am guessing that you are in bed alone texting all your little friends and posting stuff on Facebook like a little bitch. In bed alone ???? That’s because you and Jennifer sleep in separate rooms, marriage of convenience.
Sorry four corners, but the incident you talk about with the AK-47 terrorist in Lake Elsinore where you said deputies engaged, ummm no they didn’t . One female corporal and three male deputies were in yard behind the suspects house with eyes on the suspect and didn’t shoot at the bad guy who was holding the AK-47 after he was shooting at the helicopter. The helicopter piolets were begging someone to engage. A single swat deputy took bad guy out. Personally that female corporal and male deps should become csos. The jail deputies deserved their award they kept prisoners from escaping. Yes the admind screwed up by short staffing the jails, but I believe it was only one Lt who refused to call in overtime. Can’t blame the Sheriff for that one, but don’t take away credit where credit is due from the award receivers, cause at least they got down and handled business. Facts are facts. Signed one patrol dog to another.
Blogger’s Note – This comment was intended to invalidate several valid points raised in the thread. Any time someone comes on attempting to split hairs or carve out single incidences it is almost always an attempt to discredit everything the target said regardless of weather or not every point is addressed. This is a common political tactic. I also changed this commenter’s name to match the other screen names they are using.
To the commenter – in your attempt to discredit the sniff opponents on this thread, you actually made the point about sloth, waste and incompetence. There is a price to being right, sometimes that means leading with your chin and setting fire to those you are attempting to defend.
Regarding the Blythe jail incident. Anytime an inmate gets out of a secured area it’s considered an escape. Even if they don’t make it all the way to freedom. They are in an unauthorized area without permission. Therefore, it is an escape. That is why each of them was charged with escape. And the purpose of the attack was retaliation not to escape.
IThThis incident that took place yrs ago,…is over with, court wise…but i know why it was covered up by law enforcement….and my people in Blythe Ca..deserve to know, just as deputies shall know why internal investigations are covered up and tampered with…my email..
I was one of the defendants, now alot of these comments by deputies is plain old ignorance..because they are voicing their oppinions like they seen it unfold….I was a participant or defendant….and there was no retaliation…all of you are wrong, but believe what you guys were lied to about by your former sherriff..lol, thats why it was called, labled a cover-up…….
