Jacob Ellis is following the pattern to a tee. He came in on a White Horse with accolades, hope and fanfare. Now that Q1 of 2026 is almost done – nearly 8 years in to his tenure – the disaster is metastasizing.

I first wrote about this over three months ago.

Sell your business to me, demands Ellis. Here come the lawyers. Here comes the deliberately induced blight in the area of the targeted businesses with homeless infested burning buildings, boarded up buildings deliberately un-maintained to injure the remaining businesses (by dissuading people from going to that part of town), and when all that does not work – attempt to slip in amortization to speed up the process of screwing good people out of their livelihoods in order to complete the utopian dystopia in Corona.

If you think this pattern of destruction is going to stop or slow, think again. Ellis’ stunt with trying to slip amortization onto the agenda shows everyone that the path Corona is on is about him, and nothing else. His tactics will get more and more extreme until the cuck City Council actually checks him (see also termination) rather than an ego-covering / face-saving 6 month pause on amortization.

When Jacob Ellis was hired, he was a 6’5″ pretty boy with a glib tongue that was competing against an old grizzled warrior of many cities past. The old man told Corona he could get them through the next 5 years without a tax increase, but Ellis was pretty and had the right brand of BS. Taxes went up and while the city burns (literally), the council can’t bring themselves to stop protecting their investment. This means the only path out of this mess for the residents of Corona barring a miracle is the total destruction of the Corona City Council, Jacob Ellis and the Flying Monkeys around them all. Yikes.

Ellis has checked nearly all the boxes (all are my observations based on data and conversations):

He rages on people that disagree with him
He has intimidated the city councilmembers, or manipulated them in to compliance
He has manipulated City Staff with pay raises the City of Corona can’t afford and Friday’s off
He never willingly admits mistakes, usually requiring brutal legal maneuvers to get a halfway weak admission from him
When you think you are making progress in negotiations, he retrenches within a day or two with an even worse position to regain superiority
He demands 100% compliance – even causing the city to waste tens of thousands on a demanded all-at-once-logo replacement
He has proven through the botched handling of the downtown redevelopment that he is incompetent in California Law
Anecdotal stories from within the City show a horrifying pattern of bullying and abusive behavior – especially in eminent domain circumstances

And it goes on. But also true to the pattern, Ellis is getting ready to cut and run from Corona because in my opinion he has been exposed, and there is much more exposure coming of Ellis’ malfeasance.

The City of Goodyear posted that Ellis is a finalist for their City Manager Job. Ellis came to Corona from Gilbert, AZ, which shares a border with Goodyear, AZ.

It was put to me that Ellis emailed city staff at 4pm this past Friday to let them know this information was made public. 4pm Friday Emails are standard practice for tail-covering, but usually smack of cowardice.

Speaking of Cowards – the Corona City Council all need to look at themselves in the mirror with the exception of Tony Daddario. Daddario has been public about his desire to can Jacob Ellis.

Wes Speake has been rumored to support canning Ellis but has proven to be a political weather vane, shifting his opinions based on where the magical three votes can be found. In addition the alleged conservative has voted for massive deficit spending and encumbering the City of Corona with $500 Million+ in debt, almost equal to their entire annual budget.

Tom Richins and Jim Steiner both look like they have been in office too long and just blindly rubber-stamp everything the troubled Ellis puts in front of them. I could write a lot more about Richins, and will should he decide to run for another term.

This leaves Corona’s abortion barbie Jacque Casillas. Casillas is an abortion clinic manager (ahem Planned Parenthood Corona that is) who is rumored to be on the bench for the California Legislative democrats. I am probably doing her a favor with my moniker, but no amount of sacrifices to Moloch can counter-balance being on the council rubber-stamping the fiscal disaster that is unfolding on the City of Corona.

Look how Corona squandered the Measure X money – on the watch of Casillas.

Look at an expose of how Corona has gotten the least for the most expensive government in the area!

Imagine a primary opponent to Casillas sending mail with photos of the blight, the debt and the idiotically bungled infrastructure projects!

Then the coup d’etat – the City can’t afford to build a thing on the land they acquired! Where’s the social justice in that???

Any democrat legislative opponent will wreck Casillas with this stuff. Casillas still has a chance to save herself at the expense of Jacob Ellis – voting to fire him before the City of Goodyear hires him would give her some talking points against the ready-made attacks that could be levelled over the ongoing disaster in the City of Corona.

If Casillas were to become the third vote against Ellis, Speake would have a sudden and magical growth of spinal material and Ellis would be gone now. Then the healing could begin, but I am not sure that Corona could avoid a municipal BK given how far gone it is.

Jacob Ellis ruined Gilbert, He is well on his way to ruining Corona and is following the exact same pattern. The question is why is the Council (save Tony D) following him down the drain only to be discarded after being bled dry?
