You read that correctly – with Jessica Patterson holding the gavel and National Committeeman Shawn Steel in attendance, that is how it went down.
I was told that the letter Patterson and Steel signed supporting Ronna McDaniel was before the Georgia Loss and that may well have de-stabilized the coalition. I could also be wrong.
Your intrepid blogger chose to post about this because this is indeed a shock. I did not see this coming at all.
Just think about it this way. One of the worst run Republican State Parties in the Nation wants to make their National Committee Woman the new National Chair…. Just take a moment and think about that!

Aaron, what date did this meeting take place? I’m curious due to a letter I received from Harmeet stating that Shawn and Jessica were endorsing Ronna? I had a conversation with Shawn just a couple of days ago and he said the same. I’m just wondering when this decision was made and the reason for the change of heart, which by the way, if true, I support.
Aaren, You also need to realize, via comment from other string, that is more of the collapse of the Bakersfield Bunch (Thomas/Abernathy/McCarthy) as the speakership slips away from McCarthy which means McCarthy may not be able to bring Patterson (His minion) up to the National Chair if he loses the speakership. “The Attack Dogs are feeding on the remains”…..
This meeting was choreographed better than Bob Fosse, the behind the scenes machinations were straight out of “House of Cards”…Ms. Dhillon played Shawn Steel and Jessica Patterson like a Stradivarius.
The strategic thinking and planning that went into this is nothing short of monumental.
The time is now to replace Patterson and Steel. Both are utter abject failures.
Speaking of failures…How many recall and remember when Kevin McCarthy was in the Assembly, the absolute sh!%show he turned the caucus into? The path of destruction of the GOP Caucus in the wake of his departure to DC looked like the aftermath of Katrina. The Assembly GOP Caucus has never recovered from his failures there.
