Hmmmm…. Your Intrepid Blogger wonders if stuff like this is headed to Sup D2.
When I got the email forward, two things struck me. Number 1 this was payback for Robert Weygant not supporting the District Map Crazy Suzy wanted and secondly that there are few endorsements left for Paul Joiner to get.
Lincoln, Calif. — Today, Paul Joiner announced the endorsement of Placer County District 4 Supervisor Suzanne Jones in his campaign for Placer County Supervisor.
In her endorsement, Suzanne Jones wrote, “I have always known Paul Joiner to be a strong supportive leader in the community, a man of integrity and a dedicated public servant. I believe he has the right qualifications, experience, and temperament to be an excellent County Supervisor.”
“I look forward to working with Suzanne Jones and the other Supervisors on the Board on policies that will drive economic growth, protect our communities and continue to make Placer County a special place to live,” said Paul Joiner.
Paul Joiner is a small-business owner and long-time resident of Placer County. He serves as a Lincoln City Councilmember and previously served as Mayor. Prior to his election to the Lincoln City Council, Paul Joiner served on the City of Lincoln’s Planning Commission.
Suzanne Jones is among the most recent to endorse Paul Joiner, other notable endorsers include Congressman Doug LaMalfa and the Placer County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association.
The issue for Mr. Joiner with taking an endorsement from Suzanne Jones is that she is poorly regarded in the business community at large, is a known NIMBY and is a darling of the Sacramento Bee. Perhaps these were the reasons that Mr. Joiner is touting the endorsement? Note the Sheriff’s Union – they are going to spend big on Paul’s behalf. They need more votes on the board of supervisors. IN fact, my original source that sent me the email indicated
To those of you wondering about LaMalfa, Joiner has been a donor and supporter of his for years. That is a friendship thing.
This is going to be a barn-burner of a race. Dave Gilliard has beaten Matt Rexroad in the past in Placer County, but that was years ago and these are two very different candidates. Mr. Gilliard is running the campaign of Joiner and Mr. Rexroad is running the campaign of Shanti Landon.
TO be continued…
