Placer GOP Update: County Party Officer Elections Coming Up, Your Intrepid Blogger Weighs In

We’ve written about the runaway success of Mark Wright the Chairman of the Placer GOP. We’ve already endorsed Mark Wright for re-election. That will happen next week, unopposed. 1-13-2021

There are four other officer slots on the Placer GOP, and some of the elections will be contested.

The Secretary of the Placer GOP is Laurie Wallace, she is running for re-election uncontested. This is good because Laurie is the bomb.

However, we have another Gary Johnson sighting. While I wholeheartedly supported him for his Roseville Council run, I think he needs to step aside for new blood on the Placer GOP. Mike Murray who is in his 30’s is running for first vice chair of the Placer GOP. He has been an effective activist in Placer County and deserves the post. Murray is also a full portfolio conservative with an excellent work ethic.

Mark Onafer is running for 2nd Vice Chair. It is likely once Murray beats Gary Johnson that Johnson will try for 2nd. I don’t know Mark O, but again he is an activist with a solid reputation amongst people I know.

This brings me to the Treasurer slot – I am giving Eric Eisehammer my “Total and Complete Endorsement”. There are multiple reasons for this.

Eisenhammer has been a conservative political consultant and activist for at least 15 years. I believe I met him 12 years ago. His pedigree includes working for John Cox, Howard Jarvis, Tom McClintock, and a slew of Conservatives statewide. I can recall Eric being a loyal friend within CRA and other political groups I participated in over the years.

I can’t say the same about Ed Rowen, the incumbent Treasurer that needs to be retired. I have known Rowen to be mentally unstable, dishonest, duplicitious and a drain on most groups he was a part of. My crowning memory of Rowen is when I followed him several years ago after he picked up precinct packets for a campaign. I watched him discard the items. I never had a chance to confront him about what he did, as he participated in tossing me from the CRA in 2015. Regardless of my history with him in campaigns or in the CRA, you can not rely on Ed Rowen to tell the truth, keep his word or not run you through the second you take your eyes off of him.

The Eric Eisenhammer vs Ed Rowen race for Placer GOP Treasurer is as stark a contrast as you get in an internal party contest.
