For an area as conservative as Rocklin and for a pro-business group to ignore Prop 21 (a tax increase) and Prop 23 is peculiar.
First off – they are both “Green” props. Maybe that had something to do with it?
Prop 21 is open-and-shut. It is an $18 car tax to “fund” state parks. The state park budget has been decimated to pay for the welfare state – and Prop 21 money could be raided as the money goes in to the general fund. Prop 22 – if passed does not apply to Prop 21 money.
A “No” position should have been a no-brainer.
Prop 23? It would save at least 1 million jobs if it passed. The Rocklin Chamber avoided it.
Why? Recently, an article came out about the CARB deliberately using pollution figures that were inflated 300+% to justify another job-killing edict against Diesel Trucks.
The CARB was empowered with almost dictatorial power over our lives by AB32 – which would be suspended until unemployment goes below 5.5% for 4 straight quarters – if Prop 23 passes.
But for some strange reason the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce was silent on saving a million jobs?
