Welcome to the Governor’s Race Kevin Faulconer. Now for the Part You Can’t Buy (like you did the CAGOP)…

OH mama, it is party time in California. With Gavin Newsom’s popularity cratering and polling data showing him extremely vulnerable, here we go…

San Diego, CA – Statement from the Cox for Governor campaign following Kevin Faulconer’s announcement for Governor: “As mayor of San Diego, Kevin Faulconer’s mismanagement earned him C- and D- grades from his hometown newspaper. Career politicians like Faulconer and Gavin Newsom have kept California in constant ‘crisis mode,’ from shady insider deals to failing on vaccine preparation.

“In contrast, John Cox has built a successful business career as a problem solver, with the innovative skills to provide Californians with a fresh start.”

Then there is this:

The Faulconer Bloom Comes Off Quick – Just Ask San Diego

San Diego, CA — In 2013, current Los Angeles Times reporter Liam Dillon, then of the Voice of San Diego wrote the following: Kevin Faulconer: The No. 1 Second Choice

When asked about Faulconer, former San Diego City Councilwoman Donna Frye: “When this concerns me a lot is when people don’t move on their own until they are essentially given a hall pass,” Frye said.  “If he’s mayor, you’d wonder who’s handing out the hall pass. Who’s the hall monitor.”

Then there are real estate scandals that have plagued the former mayor and some of his donor/developer friends. Voice of San DiegoReal Estate Debacles Loomed Large On Faulconer’s Watch

It’s starting to sound like business as usual for just another politician.  Californian’s deserve better: real problems need real solutions, not excuses.

It looks like Kevin Faulconer’s background file is like three-mile island. Do note that if Jessica Patterson is re-elected Chair of the CAGOP, the whole operation will be a front for this disaster’s governor campaign.

And, it looks like Carl DeMaio has a new focus for his angst. He has been all over Kevin Faulconer like a dirty shirt. WOW:

Reform California – the group responsible for the last successful recall of a state elected official in California – has launched a website warning California voters that Kevin Faulconer is the wrong candidate to back if they want to remove Governor Gavin Newsom from office.

In 2017, Reform California spearheaded the successful recall of State Senator Josh Newman over his vote to increase the gas tax. In the 107 years since California citizens gained the right of recalling politicians from office, only 5 state politicians have been removed from office and 99% of state recall attempts have failed.

“Gavin Newsom is so bad that he absolutely can be recalled from office, but having Kevin Faulconer as the replacement candidate would kill any chance of removing Newsom,” warns Reform California Chairman Carl DeMaio.

“To succeed you need not only to build the case against the target of the recall, but you must also have a good replacement candidate who can excite and unite base voters,” DeMaio says.

In a low turnout recall election, Republicans need a candidate that can excite their base voters enough to motivate them to 1) turnout and 2) work hard to get their independent friends to join them. Faulconer’s liberal positions on a wide range of issues will surely be a huge turnoff for Republican voters.

Reform California is so concerned about a Faulconer candidacy hurting the chances of the recall against Gavin Newsom that they have launched a website (www.FaulconerFailures.org) detailing Faulconer’s problematic record.

•   Kevin Faulconer supports the crazy Green New Deal policies advanced by socialist Democrats like AOC. Faulconer’s costly Climate Action Plan will spike California’s cost of living higher and destroy more jobs.

•   Kevin Faulconer supports massive tax hikes – and doubled the water rates on San Diego families!

•   Kevin Faulconer backs AMNESTY for 11 million illegal immigrants, opposes the Border Wall, and made San Diego a Sanctuary City.

•   Kevin Faulconer told CNBC he was “sending a message of support to the BLM protesters” by refusing to impose a curfew on BLM-Antifa (CNBC June 8, 2020).

Independent voters will also be turned-off by major scandals swirling around Faulconer related to millions in taxpayer losses on botched land deals in San Diego – as well as his mishandling of San Diego’s homeless crisis.

DeMaio said he was confident a better candidate than Faulconer would emerge.

“In the meantime, I am encouraging Californians to focus on collecting the signatures needed to trigger the Recall election and hold off on giving any support to Kevin Faulconer until a better alternative emerges,” DeMaio concluded.

Reform California is one of the largest grassroots advocacy organizations in California with over 650,000 subscribers and a statewide supporter and volunteer base of over 50,000. More information can be found at www.ReformCalifornia.org

Well, it looks like Carl DeMaio has this one right. And it also looks like Mr. Faulconer has more than one nightmare to deal with in 2021. But hey! He has the CAGOP’s donor list in his hands (probably where his first $1 Million came from).
