Activists are distracted by the WWIII convention coming up with the dueling Prop 14 fixes.

Will the rich liberals be able to impose their will, or will the quixotic activists win?

Who wins the CRP officer elections? Robin Cook or the Squish Arnie Zeiderman. Adam Abrahams or Linda Boyd??? Mike Osborn or Ray Haynes?

What will be the next fight on the Placer Cent Com? (I hear a member is helping Dennis Campanelle file another FPPC complaint against the Cent Com.)

Is John Perez going to unload on Beth Gaines like the rumors told us weeks ago?

It isn’t as exciting as a Lincoln Recall or as captivating as the images from Japan, but if you’re a political nerd… you’ve probably wondered some of the above yourself.

Remember the idiot that made national news beating up on Rodney Stanhope?

Apparently Mr. Rosas is a brain donor and decided to use this blog to do research regarding his nemises, Rodney Stanhope.

You can see Mr. Rosas and Mr. Stanhope exchanging dinner plans on Rodney’s  website. (Scroll Down a bit after it loads.) Rodney was something of a celebrity for a while as a result of the visit by Mr. Rosas. Rosas was either embarrassed or enraged… and…

He couldn’t help himself – he had to send Rodney an email:

Subject: Teamster Thugs

Hey there Rodney, It was great to see you at the event on Saturday where you accused us Teamsters as Thugs.  Since then I’ve had the opportunity to check out a little of your background…interesting stuff, just got off probation for battery yourself huh?  Oh and how about that woman you knocked up a few years back…your profile says proud parent…is this the child your so proud of?  The one you abandoned?  You sir, are nothing short of a scumbag!  We look forward to seeing you in court to expose your scumbag history!!!!

Robinette Cook Picks Up Two Critical Endorsements: Nevada Cent Com / Senator Gaines

Jim Nielsen, Robinette Cook  Comments Off on Robinette Cook Picks Up Two Critical Endorsements: Nevada Cent Com / Senator Gaines

Please note that Arnie Zeiderman cancelled out on coming to the Placer Cent Com last night due to some “last minute issues”.

It would appear to this blogger that the endorsement of Zeiderman by Jim Nielsen has made it clear to many who the Conservative running in the race is.

In case it was not previously clear, endorses Robinette Cook.

Fellow Republicans:

I had a great day today.  Senator Ted Gaines endorsed me.

As I was driving home from the Placer County Party meeting tonight I received a call letting me know that the Nevada County Party had voted to endorse me as well.

Having Senator Gaines weigh in for me will make a big difference as I continue to make my case throughout the Northern Counties.  I am honored and humbled by people who are willing to lend their good names to my candidacy.

Congratulations as well to (soon to be Assemblywoman) Beth Gaines who was successful in making it to the run off election in the 4th Assembly District.

There were a number of good Republicans in the Special Election last night.  We now need to unite behind our candidate and make sure she dominates in the Special General election.

I have updated my website.  Please feel free to visit to see my position on the issues and the growing list of endorsements.  Click on CRP 2011 at the top of the page.

Thanks again to all of the members of the Nevada County Party for your support.

I would also like to thank all of the members of the Yuba County Party for giving me such a warm welcome at your successful Lincoln Day Dinner last week.

Robinette Cook

P.S. I still need more endorsements before convention.  Please hit reply today and I will add your name to my website.

Placer Central Committee Update

Placer County Republican Party  Comments Off on Placer Central Committee Update

For me it was an action-packed evening.

It started with a heated conversation between myself and John England – Karen’s Husband before the meeting even started.. The details are between us, but you could imagine the subject matter.

Several By-Law amendments were debated.

The “McClintock Ammendment” was on the agenda, dealing with conflicts of interest. The local Tea Party had sent out a press release:

NorCal Tea Party Patriots Concerned about Ethics in Placer County Republican Central Committee

For Immediate Release March 7, 2011

AUBURN, CA – The Executive Board of NorCal Tea Party Patriots is concerned about ethical questions surrounding the Placer County Republican Central Committee. Specifically its relationship with a private company called Headquarters Partnership.

Red flags were raised when it came to light that members of the PCRCC executive board were also principals in HQP. On its face this appears to be a conflict of interest. The situation is further complicated by the fact that PCRCC members have been thwarted in their efforts to look into HQP’s operation. HQP was ostensibly set up as a leasing agent to handle payments on the PCRCC headquarters. It has since been turned into something more.

Rumors have flown about HQP’s involvement in political campaigns and other activities that have nothing to do with its original mandate. In the current atmosphere it’s possible for these activities to continue without oversight since the majority of the PCRCC votes down such requests. This has left the PCRCC much less effective in Placer County and can have a negative impact on elections in 2012.

Local elected officials in Placer County have been contacted by NorCal Tea Party Patriots so they are aware.

An amendment to the PCRCC bylaws will be proposed at the next Central Committee meeting that will allow for oversight and control of how the money is spent. This will go a long way in restoring the reputation of the PCRCC. It is our hope that committee members will support it.

The amendment was adopted 17-1. Karen England abstained and Ken Campbell was the lone vote against – for reasons I am unsure of.

Tom Hudson was elected to fill a vacant slot in the first supervisorial district. The wrinkle was that Karen England nominated Tom Hudson in February then nominated Ken Payne (who was a one-evening stand-in for Tom McClintock) this evening.

No one voted for Ken Payne, as Karen voted for Carole. Ken himself came to the meeting intending to abstain on the vote for the open seat.

Tom Hudson won.

There were a few other presentations – including hearing from Robinette Cook about her bid for California Republican Party Vice Chairman Northern Region.

I spoke with Ford Davies – off the record – for about 10 minutes as the meeting was winding down. I got the impression that the adoption of the McClintock amendment was the start of resolution of the issues many in the local Tea Parties have with the Central Committee.

Instead of Talking About Compromise – Robinette Cook Talks Values

Arnie Zeiderman, Robinette Cook  Comments Off on Instead of Talking About Compromise – Robinette Cook Talks Values
Mar 092011

While some “Conservatives” are endorsing the moderate Arnie Zeiderman who talks about the need to cut deals with tax-raising liberals…

… a true Northern Californian with true values is stepping up to the plate.

Does Zeiderman talk grassroots and registration? Nope.

On the issues…
Voter Registration
The state party should make voter registration a priority.  Voter registration should be funded year round.  We lost the last election because there are more Democrats than Republicans.  We will not win statewide until we close the gap.
Proposition 14 – Open Primaries
Republicans should nominate Republican candidates for public office.  We should not allow outside forces to manipulate our process and non-Republicans should nominate their own candidates in their own process.
Our Party should stand against tax increases and support tax cuts.  Always.
The Republican Message
We have to have a message in opposition to the majority party – that is destroying our state.  As California crumbles under the weight of one party rule, we have to offer a message of opportunity, growth and accountability.  We have to reach out and give people a reason to support Republican principles.
State Budget
Republicans who voted for the various tax increase state budgets of the last 10 years made a terrible mistake.

Party functions need to be affordable
We need to NOT have conventions at 5 star resorts in Palm Springs.  It costs too much and sends the wrong message to working families.  We need affordable conventions with speakers that attract people to attend.  We should conduct party business efficiently and discreetly.  We need more people attending our functions.

I don’t run away from the fact that I am a Conservative.  The current crisis we face in California is the result of Liberal big government.  The answer is not more big government.  The Republican Party should remain the home of conservative political thought.
