So, Mr. Intrepid Blogger, that is a pretty incendiary headline! This is Corona. It has not been difficult at all to find example after example of the ruling Junta and the Management of the City of Corona in some other universe than the actual residents of the city.

Want to participate in youth sports in Corona? There is one major place to do so, in the city of 160,000 people. Good luck parking, too.

Most well-run cities prioritize youth sports facilities.
Usually, when your intrepid blogger looks in to discontent in a municipality, it is typically a small group of people that are never satisfied and the list of issues are usually on the fringes of what matters. The problem with Corona is that the issues are easy to identify, are numerous and are preventable. At least, they were.
The doctors of destruction and the ruling junta appear to have wasted all the money on pie-in-the-sky-projects that have been riddled with delays and cost overruns.
In the case of building new youth sports facilities, you’d think that the $100 Million renovation of the city’s central park would have been an ideal location for some of that stuff!
There is even a cute website dedicated to the park redo! Two things should set off alarm bells, #1 the actual adopted “plan” is not on the website and #2 the website says construction was supposed to begin in the Spring of 2025… meaning the thing is already SIX MONTHS LATE!
It doesn’t stop there, the project is supposed to include, get this – a water park. Just like we wrote about the Jacob Ellis monstrosity in Gilbert AZ, history repeats itself in Corona, CA. The monstrosity includes a GYM, a Community Center and the aforementioned Water Park at a cost of $100M + and when done the community gets to pay entrance fees / membership fees to used everything! What a deal! I am sure the signs will feature Less Masculine Lettering and Coloring, however.
… and they have already gotten rid of the historic community pool known as “the Plunge” in the process.
In addition, there are no planned youth sports fields anywhere to be seen in this “vision for the future”.
$35 Million to make traffic worse downtown.
$88 Million that ballooned up to $150 Million at least for some improvements and business destruction on McKinley Ave.
$100 Million on an already 6 month late City Park Project.
… and a rubber stamp ruling junta city council that is roasting their marshmallows on the dumpster fire.
Everyone in leadership of the City of Corona need to be fired. To be continued…
