AD73 Race has Bizarre Nexus in Placer County? Convicted Felon Running for Office!

Blogger’s Note: If any of you remember Jesse Petrilla from Del Oro High School and later Placer High, please email me at [email protected] – the incidents were from 2001-2002 time period.

There is a reason why if you have a past in politics, just come out with it. Many in the AD73 area thought that Petrilla had a wild past and Petrilla’s own refusal to come clean about it piqued many people’s curiosity.

The RSM Patch just confirmed what I thought I knew. Jesse Petrilla grew up in my back yard. I live in Rocklin, Jesse lived in the Loomis area. Loomis and Rocklin share a border, both are in Placer County. (Go north on I-5 7 hours to Sacramento, hang a right and another 30 miles toward Reno and you are in Loomis. Rocklin is a few miles sooner)

Petrilla was expelled from Del Oro High School (Which is in Loomis) apparently as a result of these felonies and had to graduate from Placer High School Instead. (Placer High is in Auburn)

Originally, the district attorney charged Petrilla with 12 felony and two misdemeanor crimes, including the sentencing enhancement of using a firearm which included:

  • Three felony counts of assault with a firearm;
  • Four felony counts of shooting at an occupied motor vehicle;
  • One felony count of dissuading a witness from testifying at a trial;
  • Four felony counts of discharging a firearm with gross negligence;
  • One misdemeanor count of exhibiting a firearm;
  • One misdemeanor count of exhibiting a deadly weapon, a chain.

According to court records, all but the first two counts of assault with a firearm were dismissed on Aug. 10, 2001.

Petrilla was granted early release from probation in December 2004. At the completion of Petrilla’s probation, the court downgraded the felonies to misdemeanors and dismissed the charges.

Petrilla did indeed plead guilty to two felonies.

Jesse Nathan Petrilla, now 30, and seeking to represent most of South Orange County in Sacramento in the State Assembly, was in 2010 the youngest city councilman ever elected in Rancho Santa Margarita. Yet before becoming a lawmaker, he fired a .22 caliber rifle at an occupied vehicle about five months before his 18th birthday. Tried as an adult, he was sentenced to 240 days in jail and five years probation.

Basically, the account I was given was that Jesse Petrilla lit up a car full of people with a .22 rifle for no apparent reason. There are other things in Jesse’s past that suggest this was not an isolated incident.

Jesse Petrilla’s behavior pattern over his first term in office has been bizarre and erratic according to accounts I have heard. Given Petrilla’s behavior, his attempts to conceal his past and his lack of repentance for it… now this revelation becomes a problem.

There are three other candidates that are older, allegedly wiser (although I would not give Anna Bryson credit for a thing) and most importantly do not have a police record.

Sources tell me that Anna Bryson’s team has pulled opposition research on all of her opponents. She appears to be expecting to benefit from Independent Expenditures and is planning on scorching the earth. Bill Brough and Paul Glaab had better be ready – because things far less serious than being a wanna-be gang-banger shooting at a car with a .22 are going to be detonated in their faces.

As to Jesse Petrilla? He should simply drop out of the AD73 race now and try to save himself if he wants to get re-elected to the RSM City Council.

Its’ 2014. Charles Munger is Still Here. What to do?

 Charles Munger  Comments Off on Its’ 2014. Charles Munger is Still Here. What to do?

Everyone in California Republican Politics has an opinion on Charles Munger.

I know I do. Before I returned the website to Mike Schroeder (who paid for its’ construction) – I railed on Charles Munger Constantly. (Under my own name, mind you)

Charles Munger spends megabucks on Politics, but Charles Munger is not always wrong.

When Charles Munger is wrong, it has catastrophic effects on the party. The Citizen’s Redistricting Commission was hijacked by the Unions for example. Prop 14 creating the jungle primary was another.

Charles Munger has since used Prop 14 elections to spend big bucks on Moderate/Liberal Republican Candidates. That is his right – he as $1billion in the bank and he can spend it.

Moderate/Liberal Republicans claim that Conservatives want to impose their values on the GOP. Charles Munger spent $833k on liberal Republican Rocky Chavez in AD78, a Conservative District. Munger chipped in $400k toward the nearly $2 Million spent stopping Conservative Icon Rico Oller in favor of Tax-Raising Liberal Republican Frank Bigelow in AD-05. Two of the most Conservative districts in California are now represented by Moderate/Liberal Republicans due to the intervention of Charles Munger.

However, Charles Munger got embarrassed because while spending $850k saving Beth Gaines from a primary challenge, as he funded a primary challenge against Alan Mansoor to the tune of $750k.

Charles Munger’s actions of targeting an effective, outspoken incumbent because Connie Conway wanted him gone and then supporting an ineffective, incompetent incumbent because Connie Conway wanted her there (to save the leadership vote) breeds resentment.

What’s worse is that we lost 5 Assembly races in 2012. Munger chipped in $250k to Peter Tateishi – imagine if Munger had diverted the $400K he spent against Rico Oller in to AD08? AD05 was going to elect a Rep no matter what. We lost AD32, AD36 and AD65 by slim margins. Imagine if Munger had diverted some of the $833k from Chavez in to those three races?

Now we can’t find a candidate in AD32 – and both AD36 and AD65 are going to cost $1million or more to re-take. Add to that, we have to defend the Gorrell Seat and the Morrell Seat because Gorrell is running for CA-26, another narrow loss that Charles Munger could have aided. (Instead, he spent $1.2 million in the Safe CA-08 Congressional race helping elect liberal Republican Paul Cook in a Very Conservative District.)

As a result, the Tea Party California Caucus was born. The more Charles Munger spends money attempting to manipulate the outcomes of elections, the angrier people will get and the stronger the opposition will get. Many people in insider politics understand my issues with elements of the tea party.

The demise of the CA GOP is not Charles Munger’s fault. It is a team effort.

The knuckleheads that write the anonymous Munger Games blog are not helping matters at all. Their information is sometimes poorly vetted and because of their cowardice, they launch personal attacks in lieu of constructive, reasoned debate.

Connie Conway appears to have directed IE money in a manner to protect her leadership votes, this certainly affected some of Munger’s decisions. (aka selfishness from a politician, imagine that)

Many Tea Parties are guilty of the same lack of discernment and discretion that I rail on the left of the party for. Once such absurdity is the accusation from some of the bad operators in the TPCC that Munger controls the CRA and has donated to it. This is an absurd lie and its’ propagation is being done to wedge the Tea Party against CRA.

This sort of division, coupled with the failure of elected Republican leaders, plus the apparent bias of Charles Munger’s spending is a toxic cocktail.

Charles Munger did nothing wrong by giving nearly $700k to the CRP. That was the RIGHT thing to do and he deserves credit, not scorn. When juxtaposed with the myriad errors, it appears that Munger is trying to treat the sick patient without realizing that he is causing some of the illness.

The critics of the CRP need to take a step back and get to know the leaders within the CRP and realize that they are independent thinkers and not puppets.

In short, criticize Charles Munger for things he actually did… don’t buy trouble.

I have spoken to Charles Munger personally. I would encourage anyone else to do so. Munger is an affable and approachable man. Charles Munger and I spoke for 45 minutes, I believe we both enjoyed the conversation. Other people in politics that I have attacked spend their waking hours trying to destroy me because of their paper-thin egos. They will never forgive me for writing critical blogs about them. Congratulations for playing your part in the fractures of our shrinking party.

These so-called leaders could learn from Charles Munger in that regard.

Here is the conclusion – it has come to my attention that Charles Munger is lining up targets. A couple of those targets are safe R seats in Orange County.

Without writing some retarded “New Year’s Resolution” under the cowardly cover of anonymity – let me say the following to Charles Munger:

Don’t do it.

If you want the TPCC to get angrier and stronger, spend the money.

If you want to galvanize the OC establishment against you, spend the money.

If you want to exasperate the resentments that exist along the ideological divide within the CRP, spend the money.

The anticipated benefit to the expected independent expenditures is not worth the further degredation of CAGOP.

My suggestion to Mr. Munger is the following:

Open up a can of Wupass in the Gorrell and Morrell seats we have to defend. Help Eric Linder. Drop a bomb on AD36, AD65 and the other two competitive assembly races we have.

Please help in the 3 Congressional races we are trying to pick up – help Gary Miller defend himself.

Please help Janet Nguyen Pick Up SD34. That seat will put us over 1/3 in the State Senate.

There are so many targets that are not safe R seats! Why create further resentment and heartache by imposing yourself on safe R races?

I have learned a lot of lessons from past mistakes. I will also be reminded of a lot of those mistakes because in politics there is little if any forgiveness and most all resentments are permanent.

I am tired of fratricide. I hope Charles Munger is, too.

Stop SB48 – The Plot Thickens, Two Legislators Donated, No Records Kept?

 Doug LaMalfa, Jim Nielsen  Comments Off on Stop SB48 – The Plot Thickens, Two Legislators Donated, No Records Kept?
Jan 202014

We detailed how the Stop SB48 Campaign is connected to the CRI and the AB1266 Referendum by common threads, address, Karen England, etc.

Now, we have an additional nexus. Two of the top boosters of the CRI, Then Assemblymember Jim Nielsen and Then State Senator Doug LaMalfa are both on the California Secretary of State’s website with $1000 donations to Stop SB48.

While neither LaMalfa Nor Nielsen did anything wrong by donating to this, it underscores the need for an investigation.

Doug LaMalfa himself attacked the Placer County Republican Party for its’ alleged (never proven) lack of transparency on the front page of the Sacramento Bee.

I would expect both Jim Nielsen (now a State Senator) and Doug LaMalfa (now a Congressman) to demand an accounting for what happened to the money they donated. They need to demand transparency.

Please also note that both Nielsen and LaMalfa signed emails sent by the Stop SB 48 Campaign, doing what else? Fundraising. (many of us remember them, but I am not sure if anyone saved copies of them)

It is now apparent that real money was raised by the Stop SB48 Campaign, and with the nexus of the pending FPPC complaint and the campaign getting forcibly terminated for failure to file… this should send of alarm bells.

Did the Stop SB48 Campaign Avoid an FPPC Complaint By Refusing to File Paperwork? Where is the SOS Office?

 Capitol Resource Institute  Comments Off on Did the Stop SB48 Campaign Avoid an FPPC Complaint By Refusing to File Paperwork? Where is the SOS Office?
Jan 182014

Here on the Right on Daily blog, we have uncovered a disturbing pattern that has repeated itself. Despite thinly veiled attempts to conceal Karen England or the CRI’s involvement in a series of campaigns – they have been exposed.

Equality California was disturbed enough by this apparent corruption that they filed an FPPC complaint.

For the first time – the Right on Daily Blog has obtained documentation that suggests the reason that the FPPC Complaint has never been dealt with. The CRI / Stop SB48 Campaign simply decided to stonewall.

Recently Obtained Documents from the California Secretary of State’s office are sketchy – and there is a reason why.

First – the amended 410 was filed on 7/20/2011 – then the committee was qualified on 7/25/2011, meaning that they deposited their first $1000. Note that Karen England’s name is on the paperwork. The Bank Account was opened at a Wells Fargo Branch on Douglas Blvd in Roseville, not far from her former residence in Roseville. ( She lives in Reno, Nevada now)

Then – equality California lit them up with an FPPC Complaint:

The FPPC complaint charges that Capitol Resource Institute has been financially supporting the ballot initiative campaign. Karen England, executive director of CRI, said that is not the case. “Stop SB 48 leases office space from us,” she said. “They paid CRI up front for office rent and postage. And our employee was taken off the payroll and went on the the Stop SB 48 payroll right at the beginning of the campaign.” England said that she is even an unpaid volunteer for both CRI and the Stop SB 48 campaign.

(The above quote is from an article written that was subsequently pulled down – remind me to start screen-shotting these articles. There seems to be a pattern with anything related to Karen England getting pulled, however, I found another link with even more info that is linked twice in this posting)

Now – imagine for a second that I am the public face, mugging for the camera, making calls to solicit funds for AB1266 and the address for the campaign is in my insurance office. Now, I am trying to say that it and my insurance business are separate concerns and that my insurance business won’t profit off of the campaign?

Evidence suggests that Karen England has done this four times. SB777, Stop SB48, Ripping off $120k from Prop 8 and now the AB1266 campaign which I still believe was originally started as a scam fundraiser then because it got a life of its’ own was belatedly ripped in to legitimacy.

Karen England was pictured in many news articles and quoted many times about the AB1266 referendum, yet the campaign tried to maintain that Karen was simply a volunteer. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Quoting a previous post on the Stop SB 48 Campaign:

According to volunteers that were present in the Stop SB48 headquarters – the effort was disorganized and there was no serious, coordinated or sustained effort to validate signatures that were being gathered. In addition – it appeared to the same source that the “staff” didn’t really seem to care about what was coming in the mail – and the error rate on the petitions was well over 50%.

Now we know why – the money raised disappeared. There is no accounting for it. The California Secretary of State’s Office did not Investigate. The STOP SB48 committee was forcibly terminated in late 2013 for failure to file.

According to the employees at the Secretary of State’s Office – they did not investigate because the campaign went nowhere. Now is the time for Equality California to SUE the CRI to force disclosure.

Listed on the paperwork of the Stop SB 48 Campaign? Treasurer John Fugatt and Karen England.

… and before you think there was no money, remember this quote from Karen England when Equality California filed their FPPC Complaint:

But England said the campaign has not done anything to violate the campaign laws. “We have gotten thousands of small donations from people all over the state,” England said. “We haven’t hit the $1,000 or $5,000 thresholds for reportable contributions.”

Well there you go – either Karen England Lied (which she is known for, see also her claim of an FBI investigation in to the Placer GOP Central Committee in 2010) or they raised some money and likely funneled it in to the CRI.

Since there has been no transparency, it is easy to assume that the reason is that there is something to hide.

Anyone who donates to any campaign that the CRI or Karen England are remotely a part of needs their head examined.
