Rob Matthews has his bus.
John Allard has the lead.
Beth Gaines has a lawsuit.
Cheryl Bly-Chester has cable…
… and we have a campaign.
There are two things about this Sacramento Bee article that are bizarre.
1. Rob Matthews defends Beth Gaines. This is certainly bizarre behavior – or indicative of a rookie candidate. Most candidates would say – “that’s between those two, I have a campaign to run”. Matthews is certainly sincere and is a breath of fresh air in that regard, and the Gaines camp should send him a thank you note.
2. Dave Gilliard’s behavior.
Gilliard dismissed Allard’s challenge, saying “it’s ironic that he would be raising this issue” because he refers to a business he and his wife run instead of his government service on the ballot.
Got that folks? If you’re a school board member, a planning commissioner, a city council member – getting no more than $600 a month, you will be attacked for listing your primary occupation as your ballot title.
This campaign is already bizarre as it looks like the decision by Beth to run was sudden. Point West Insurance will have to manufacture payroll for Beth Gaines between the mid-October filing of Ted’s SD-01 report and 12/31/2010.
Further, no one around here knows Beth as a businesswoman. There are a ton of stay-at-home-mom’s around here… one such Mom, Diana Ruslin just won a seat on the Rocklin City Council…
Beth Gaines is not a bad person, she is also a Conservative… she is not the right candidate for AD-04.
Dave Gilliard is an excellent consultant – but the errors being made are starting to mount…
What happened with the lawsuit? Aren’t you going to fill us in?
