Jon Fleischman – Agent of Charles Munger?

The Placer GOP is doing an endorsing convention for local races. This mimics what the San Diego Republican Party has done since their process was started by Ron Nehring over 10 years ago. The San Diego GOP is relevant as a political force in San Diego County as a result.

Jon Fleischman is someone that the media sometimes goes to for quotes on things Republican.

He decided to trash the idea of our local elected endorsing convention. Jon Fleischman is a former CRA President who apparently lost a lot of influence when the Contract with the CRA won the CRA officer elections in April of 2011.

And what’s worse for Jon Fleischman, is that he is no longer able to control outcomes of CRA endorsements in Orange County.

Jon Fleischman is also an acolyte of David Stafford Gilliard – the campaign manager of Beth Gaines and Doug LaMalfa. Neither Gaines nor LaMalfa like the Placer CRA-led Placer GOP Central Committee that much.

Many party insiders have told me off the record that Jon Fleischman routinely sells his blog to Dave Gilliard and his interests – one recent piece of evidence is a post he put up highlighting Beth Gaines’ first hit piece against Andy Pugno. This was done despite Pugno’s work on Prop 8 (which Fleischman publicly and actively supported) and despite a long-standing relationship between himself and Pugno. Apparently, money talks.

Which leads me to an apparent nexus for Fleischman to trash our endorsing convention coming up.

The Bee quoted Fleischman as saying: “It stands to reason that the 27 members of the county committee will each bring 10 people that are in agreement with them on how to vote on local endorsements, and so outcomes are unlikely to change with a larger group,”

And of course, no cheap shot would be complete without the requisite: “When you multiply the $25 registration fee times 270 participants, that’s a tidy little fundraiser for the Placer County GOP,” he said.

Leave it to the Placer County Dem Party Chairman to understand the stupidity of Jon Fleischman and the CRP leadership – he gets it and understands why an endorsing convention is a good idea:”It sort of surprises me that the Placer Republican Party would do this. I wouldn’t guess they would want a larger caucus-style process,” said Washman, chairman of the Placer County Democratic Central Committee. “If it were suggested we do something like that, I would not fight it.”

It was a backhanded compliment but a clear signal that the Dem Chairman gets it.But, not Jon Fleischman – he joined with the Munger-backed Liberals, RINO’s and the coalition of the angry to trash the idea of the endorsing convention.

Was Jon Fleischman an agent of Charles Munger in this story – or was he simply the latest illustration of the gross stupidity that exists within California Republican Leadership – or was he both?

P.S. – Please note that the CRP is broke as in 450k in the hole. Now a former CRP Vice President is quoted criticizing a County Central Committee for raising money, bringing new people in and assuming a mantle of leadership. Amazing.

San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill – Separated from David Stafford Reade at Birth?

Adam Hill, Dave Gilliard, David Stafford Reade, Doug LaMalfa  Comments Off on San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill – Separated from David Stafford Reade at Birth?

Adam Hill is doing what David Stafford Reade, Dave Gilliard and Doug LaMalfa only dream of. (That is when they aren’t getting caught flaunting federal law, state law, campaign finance law, ethics and integrity…)

Adam Hill is a democrat who is a supervisor in San Luis Obispo County. Similar to above named – he got a local newspaper to print false information about people he wants to silence.

Similar to the above – Adam Hill sent out emails accusing a blog on San Luis Obispo County of committing crimes. Similar to Tea Parties in Northern California that believed Reade/LaMalfa without question there were people in SLO the believed without question.

www.calcoastalnews.com lost advertisers over the false claims.

Adam Hill got angry over exposure shed on his Girlfriend that is the Executive Director of a Charity and over questions about how the Charity got its’ funding from the County. (A similar angle to $5 million in rice subsidies)

The boorish behavior is summarized in an excerpt from a blog on Steve Frank’s website:

Hill’s threats intensified after CCN reported that Hill cut off the microphone of a person speaking at a supervisor meeting because he did not like what she was saying. CCN also reported when Hill made a call to a Pismo Beach resident who had written a letter to the editor. In the call, Hill pretended to be his political opponent in the last county election.

Hill has “found” postings on the internet and forwarded them to recipients around the county, sometimes within minutes of their creation. The postings contain false claims that CCN has paid sources or deceived the public.

Hill sent an email to Loving referring him to a link with one of the posts. (Bill)Loving (editor of the CCN Blog) sent a reply thanking Hill and letting him know that he would be in contact with the poster in order to hear his evidence of wrongdoing or get an apology for the statement.

“Requests have been put forward to get the identity of this person whose post Mr. Hill is spreading around,” Loving said. “It’s taking a while to reach him because the author of the post doesn’t seem to exist.”

Hill has threatened persons who are affiliated with the news site, warning them that if they continued to promote or contribute content to the site, they would lose jobs and reputations.

Similar to the anonymous posters I believe to be Doug LaMalfa staff – it seems that those tactics are not new.

The rest of the story goes in to some apparently abusive practices in SLO County that Adam Hill is involved in.

At least in this case – the scumbag is a Democrat.

Years ago, when I used to pound a few brewskis, I used to like Coors. A lot of my friends liked Pabst Blue Ribbon – known as “PBR”. My Mexican buddies in Fresno loved Budweiser.

Phil Paule is campaigning as a fiscal conservative and I have him definately pegged as a PBR drinker – as PBR is much less expensive than Coors or Budweiser, even if there is a sale.

Phil Pabst Paule (PPP) must have been enjoying a fiscally conservative bender the other night when sending out emails. He was definitely excited over the endorsement of Michelle Steel. PPP characterized Michelle Steel as California’s highest-ranking Republican.

#EPICFAIL. Allow this blogger to render assistance to Mr. Paule. Kevin McSquishy (McCarthy) is the 3rd Highest Ranking Republican in Congress. I think that is a little higher than a board of equalization member. For the Record, McSquishy is not on Phil Pabst Paule’s endorsement list… but I take note that PPP’s endorsement list is full of Dave Gilliard clients. (Cozy)

This was not a blue ribbon moment for Phil Pabst Paule. David Stafford Gilliard needs to stop taking PPP’s money and needs to start helping Mr. Paule send out emails that don’t make him look like an idiot. (a la Dan Hughes)

But, the checks cash.

Dave Gilliard takes CAGOP for $200k then throws in the towel

California Republican Party, Dave Gilliard  Comments Off on Dave Gilliard takes CAGOP for $200k then throws in the towel

Remember the ridiculous initiative against the State Senate Districts? The CAGOP emptied their treasury and Dave Gilliard pocketed an estimated $200k in Consulting fees for/from?

Dave Gilliard decided to take the money and run. Today, the capitol alert released a blog including quotes from Dave Gilliard blaming the California Supreme Court for why they won’t try to campaign for what is now known as Prop 40.

I love this quote:

Jason Kinney, spokesman for the Senate Democratic Caucus that opposed the referendum, said he was not surprised that GOP sponsors have decided not to bankroll a Proposition 40 campaign.

“This was a highly partisan, high-risk gambit by a handful of Republican Party establishment members — and it’s clearly backfired,” Kinney said of the referendum.

Yup. But what Kinney missed is that Dave Gilliard was the only winner – pocketing a ton of money at the expense of Republican activists and donors.
#EPICFAIL

Dave Gilliard Demands that Andy Pugno not run

Beth Gaines, Dave Gilliard  Comments Off on Dave Gilliard Demands that Andy Pugno not run

Dave Gilliard proved a lack of integrity by putting out mailers so bad that even the Sacramento Bee called him out on them.

Even before Dave Gilliard went on tilt – his hubris would not allow him to take Mr. Pugno up on his pledge. In doing so, Gilliard gave Pugno the moral release to run if he so chooses and Gilliard won’t (even though I know he will try to) be able to score points with it. I think that Gilliard’s refusal was borne out of that fact that he understood that Beth Gaines was and is not a strong incumbent – right down to hiding her incumbency on the ballot and in her campaign.

Andy Pugno capsulized the hubris in his second mailer: Quoting the Article from the Bee

“Gaines apparently would rather see a Democrat in the Assembly than a Republican – unless it is her,” the flier said. “This is the kind of attitude that comes with being an incumbent.”

This issue I have has nothing to do with Gilliard representing Gaines / LaMalfa. It Doesn’t matter as we’ve been on the same side many times.

In this campaign, Dave Gilliard and in the campaign against Peter Tateshi – went on tilt and showed a character that was 100% bereft of integrity all in the name of winning.

The bee article ends with a Demand from Dave Gilliard:

“We expect Pugno to keep his word, suspend his campaign, and support the top Republican vote-getter, Beth Gaines,” he said.

I don’t know what Pugno will do. However, Dave Gilliard’s attitude in that quote shows me that he does not want to have to run a competitive campaign against Andy Pugno again in the fall…

… now that is indeed revealing.

This should be academic, we should be concentrating on local races and other issues as I am in favor of some reconciliation – but Dave Gilliard has made it extremely difficult with his tactics and now his chest-beating.

If Placer County is on fire this fall – it is 100% Dave Gilliard’s fault.
