I have repeatedly lambasted Assembly Permanent Minority Leader Connie Conway for being stupid and short-sighted.

I decided to start looking in to where the money came from and went in some depth. Charles Munger is not the only one out there that had an obsession about attacking Republicans he wants to exterminate from the party. My investigation has determined that Munger did indeed come up with about $1.5 million more than I previously detected.

However, people need to call the California Dental Association and the California Association of Realtors and thank them for aiding and abeting the California Democrat Supermajority as much as the stupidity of Connie Conway / Charles Munger.

First off – three Races, all of which should have been easy wins for the GOP were turned in to disasters because of the following:

1. Connie Conway was obsessed with defending Beth Gaines and directed IE money there.

2. In my opinion, Charles Munger ignored these three districts because the Republican Candidates were all Conservatives not named Beth Gaines.

3. The California Association of Realtors and the California Dental Association were up to their neck in supporting anyone running against a conservative – whether it meant supporting a RINO/Moderate or a Liberal Democrat.

In AD40 – Mike Morrell, a conservative did not get a dime of IE money. He scraped by with a 2,200 vote win. The local media there declared him the winner as of November 20th. It should not have been this close… but again, like a broken record I look at all the money wasted attacking conservatives in R vs R races.

In AD36 – Ron Smith is hanging on to a 2007 vote lead as of 11/21/2012. This is another supposedly safe R seat. Not a dime of IE money went in to Ron Smith. It is unlikely that the estimated number of provisional ballots will overturn Ron Smith’s win.

In AD32 – the Democrats recognized Connie Conway and Charles Munger’s obsession with RvsR races and they snuck in (aided and abetted by the Realtors) and contributed to a 3,000 vote loss by Pedro Rios.

A PAC called Californians for Jobs and a Strong Economy came after Rios with $42,515.42. The major funders were PG&E and the Realtors and a smattering of corporate PAC’s.

The Dentists themselves attacked Rios with $56,130.00.

A variety of left-leaning PAC’s supported Rudy Salas with $215,791.48

Where was Charles Munger? Nowhere. Where was Connie Conway and Republican Leadership? Nowhere. Where was Howard Ahmundson and the California Taxpayer’s Advocate? Spending all their money in AD67, AD05 and AD06 attacking Republicans in R vs R races.

So, credit the Dems with recognizing the stupidity and jumping in for the bargain price of $215K and defeating Pedro Rios.

Then realize that the Dems could have swiped TWO more Assembly seats on top of everything else!

As I write this – Chris Norby just conceded defeat. This is the final seat the dems needed for their supermajority in the assembly.

The leadership of the GOP never liked Norby. He beat their hand-picked candidate the last cycle and he certainly was not a vote for Connie Conway. They let him swing and put no resources in to him whatsoever.

Meantime – $700k in to Beth Gaines, because the author of Prop 8 had to be stopped. $400k of it at least was from Charles Munger.

Munger – $250K in to a the Safe SD-04 race for Jim Nielsen. This was Nielsen’s reward for leading Charles Munger’s attempt to gut the Republican Party Platform.

Charles Munger – $175k in to a Doug LaMalfa-backed effort to try and stop Brian Dahle in AD01. Other interests poured in $225k for a total of $400k spent in another R vs R race. Dahle won anyway.

AD-05: $600K+ spent by groups trying to stop Rico Oller in, you guessed it, another R vs R race.

Got all that – $2Million Plus spent in safe R districts in just the north state trying to elect moderates more to the liking of Charles Munger, Connie Conway and those that crave control.

Paul Cook in CD-08 running against minuteman founder Gregg Imus drew $750K of Charles Munger’s money – an R vs R race while Bono-Mack and Brian Bilbray lost to Democrats. Both of them are regarded as moderates (aka people Munger should have supported) and both got only token amounts for the CAGOP establishment.

Dan Lungren got some help – but none from the CAGOP establishment, he lost.

Tony Strickland got nothing. He lost.

Abel Maldonado, the most Liberal Republican California has to offer, was obviously to Charles Munger’s liking as he got $1.2 million in IE’s but still lost.

Pedro Rios (another seat in the assembly we needed to hold) got about $200k in assorted IE’s but was swamped by the Dems. Charles Munger was nowhere to be found.

A terrible candidate named William Batey in AD-61 benefited from about $300k of Munger’s money after Munger helped muscle out the conservatives in the primary. Batey lost.

Munger did spend big bucks in the AD-76 Primary attacking Conservative Sherry Hodges in favor of RINO Rocky Chavez another R vs R race that drew roughly $400k.

The Target State Senate Races? Lost 3 of 4. The only one that was won was Bill Berryhill who managed to get about $750k spent on his behalf. Where was Munger?

Todd Zink lost. Jeff Miller lost. George Plescia Lost.

Republican Central Committee Races? They drew a combined $200k of Munger’s Money – it was necessary to reward lemmings and punish anyone with independent thought…

… and the money poured in to R vs R runoffs. Congratulations Charles Munger and Republican Leadership you earned irrelevance.

Hey, but Beth Gaines voted for Connie Conway to remain Assembly Permanent Minority Leader! (And Dave Gilliard got to keep a paycheck)

P.S. Not mentioned – the $35 million Munger wasted on Prop 32.

Assembly Permanent Superminority Leader Connie Conway was re-elected today.

She was on watch when the GOP lost another three seats in the Assembly to go below the 1/3 threshold to stop tax increases.

Conway directed liberal Billionaire Charles Munger to spend on Beth Gaines apparently because she needed to keep Beth Gaines’ leadership vote. $750,000 that could have been used on Peter Tateishi or Pedro Rios for example.

The Republican leadership have proven time and again that it is all about control. Control is an illusion – while the Democrats are racking up 75% of the hispanic vote – the Republican establishment is picking candidates like lilly-white 40 something Congressional Staffer Phil “Pabst” Paule over Melissa Melendez. (Melendez appears to have won anyway)

Paule is a client of Dave Gilliard.

Dave Gilliard and control – both go in the same sentence. I have written about Dave Gilliard many times and Dave Gilliard has responded like people of his ilk do – to slither in the shadows trying to exact revenge.

Dave Gilliard is a poster child for the demise of the GOP – he is a political consultant par-excellence whose clients are all over the state. They include a lot of my favorites – Ted Gaines, Beth Gaines, Jim Nielsen, Doug LaMalfa. Gilliard has had his office raided in corruption scandal investigations and in a separate issue, one of his former clients landed in federal prison.

Dave Gilliard fancied himself as a power broker as he was amassing a stable of clients in the North State. Now – he inherits a bag of garbage. None of the above mentioned (except Congressman LaMalfa) will be able to raise a dime nor will they have influence because they are now irrelevant. Even before the GOP dropped to less than 1/3 both Gaines were irrelevant because of their lack of qualification, effort or engagement in anything other than their own paycheck.

But, Dave Gilliard sent out an email celebrating the “new blood” on the Placer GOP Cent Com after he consulted on a revenge mission against the conservatives that refused to endorse his clients.

The so-called Conservatives that are Dave Gilliard’s clients supported a group of Liberals, plus some ‘Tea Party’ recruits in an attempt to take over Control of the Placer GOP Cent Com.

The Placer GOP Cent Com was one of the few GOP Cent Coms that did not endorse all incumbent Republicans like lemmings.

It also appears that Dave Gilliard was involved in a similar mission in Orange County where the Ron-Paul RLC-Type Republicans were almost all ousted from that Cent Com (along with almost all the CRA members as well). The heinous crime? Refusing to endorse Congressman John Campbell and for nearly torpedoing an endorsement of Congressman Ed Royce – both of whom are, you guessed it, Dave Gilliard Clients.

But, Dave Gilliard got his revenge.

Dave Gilliard got his client Beth Gaines re-elected courtesy of a RINO Billionaire who is out $41million in this election cycle alone. And Dave Gilliard is not alone – but he is the poster child for what is wrong with the CRP.

Gilliard also took the CRP for $200,000 in consulting fees before abandoning Prop 40 – a $4 million debaucle.  Wouldn’t those idiots in leadership have liked to have had that money for a few target districts???

Letter From GOP Leadership – A Thesis For Why the CAGOP is Dead

In a post earlier – George lambasted Connie Conway, the imperial Republican Permanent Minority Leader for one of the most absurd campaign tactics ever… she mailed the donors of Andy Pugno.

I was ready to move on in the AD06 race until that gross act of stupidity by Connie Conway. That forms the back drop for this letter I got from the Moderate Republicans that are the “leaders” of the California Republican Party.

Right now – I am interested in several local races. The State of California has stolen 35% of the state money from every school district and has stolen so much from cities and the county that they may still be figuring out all the damage.

Where have Connie Conway, Bob Huff and the others been on this? Whining to small audiences in their own backyards instead of aggressively fighting.

The same goes for our local State Level Representatives – Beth Gaines was at the Placer GOP Headquarters talking about Crayfish fishing at Lake Tahoe – while people like Carol Garcia, Kirk Uhler, Kristie Greiss, my Mother and so many others are dealing with financial armageddon. I keep wanting to warm up to Beth Gaines and I get slapped with stuff like this. I could care less if her staff members glare at me at a chamber of commerce meeting – at least I know I am getting listened to by Beth Gaines!

Many in local government at all levels have told me they feel abandoned by their state level representatives.

Dear Delegate,

With the primary election behind us we can now focus on the top priorities for the November election.

  • Build a strong organization for Governor Romney that will help put a Republican President in the White House. (Romney has no organization in California, nor will he. This is a pipe dream)
  • Add to our Republican representation in the California Assembly, Senate and Congressional Delegation. (Really!? Then why did Connie Conway send out her letter supporting a candidate in a SAFE Republican district???)
  • Defeat Governor Brown’s initiative to raise state income and sales taxes. (Even a Cub Scout could get this one right)

All of these goals are achievable if we work together and are singularly focused on Victory in November.

With that in mind, California Trailblazers, in coordination with our state Assembly and Senate caucuses, is working with our legislative candidates to make sure they are prepared to win competitive districts this fall. (Cal Trailblazers is run by Jessica Patterson who is reportedly a close associate of Charles Munger)

The California Republican Congressional Delegation is leading the effort to establish a California Republican Victory Program targeted in competitive districts around the state. While it is focused on winning 10-12 congressional races it will closely coordinate with our effort to win overlapping targeted legislative seats.

Separate ballot measure committees have been formed to defeat the proposed tax increases and to limit the power of special interests.

Not mentioned in this letter – the California Republican Party is broke. Placer County has more money and we got criticized for raising it by some so-called Republican leader.

We have a lot of work to do at our California Republican Party Convention, now scheduled for August 10-12 in Los Angeles. We encourage you to attend.

However, if you are unable to attend, please make sure you are represented by proxy. Thanks to your response to our request prior to the last convention, you still have the right to be represented by proxy. We are grateful for your support.

If you would like to have your vote cast according to the wishes of your legislative and congressional leaders, please sign the proxy form which you can download here and return it to Republican Leadership, 1017 L Street, #715 Sacramento, CA 95814-3805. You may leave it blank or designate someone you know who supports our elected Republican Leadership to carry the proxy. Either way we will make sure that your proxy is turned in so that you are represented.

Again, thank you for your past support. We look forward to seeing you in Los Angeles or at a future convention and working with you towards many victories in November.

There is a notable omission – there was no mention of opposing the Molly Munger tax increase in this request for Proxy votes. There are a number of us that believe that the leadership have become dependent on Charles Munger’s money and as a result are running a drill to prevent the California Republican Party from opposing  Prop 38. Prop 38 is a $120 Billion tax increase put on the ballot by Molly Munger. (Charles’ sister and liberal democrat activist)

If the California Republican Party gets twisted by these people in to not opposing Prop 38 – you will know that the California Republican Party is officially owned by Charles Munger and is officially dead.
