Here is the text of an Email from Dan Logue:

Chico – North State Assemblyman Dan Logue today announced that he would be seeking reelection to the newly drawn Third Assembly District seat.  Logue was originally elected to the Third Assembly District in 2008 and has represented the district for the past four years.

“Redistricting has caused many changes in the North State, but It has been my privilege to represent the residents of Third Assembly District for these past four years and I look forward to continuing to do so,” stated Logue.  “I have had to examine where my strengths are and where I can be most effective for the North State by continuing to serve in the Third Assembly District seat.”

The Third Assembly District is comprised of all of Yuba, Sutter, Tehama, Glenn and portions of Butte and Colusa Counties.

Here’s what this means – the current AD01 Race is now tossed in to a tizzy. Brian Dahle from Lassen, Ted Owens from Nevada, and at least one more person from Shasta County are rumored to be jumping in to the fray against already declared liberal Republican Rick Bossetti.

AD01 – Siskiyou, Shasta, Modoc, Lassen, Plumas, Sierra, Nevada 1/2 of Butte and 1/3 of Placer. Dan Logue was to have moved to Lake Wildwood in Nevada County to run.

Regarding Jim Nielsen – sources have told this blogger that Gentlemen Jim is not running for his third term against Dan Logue – rather (in the opinion of this blog)  Gentleman Jim is going to conserve his resources to run for State Senate against Dan Logue after Doug LaMalfa wins election to Congress.

There are two opponents to Doug LaMalfa – my friend Colonel Pete Stiglich and another guy from Shasta County that wants to split the vote with Stiglich to enable the third candidate to win. (Gotta love Republicans and their firm grasp on strategy)

Les Baugh is still running against Ted Gaines for SD-01.

Has Politics Claimed the Marriage of Placer’s Political Dynasty?

You read here first how Congressman Wally Herger is retiring and how Doug LaMalfa is going to become the heir apparent to the seat.

How does this affect Placer County’s Political Dynasty?

The problem is that Duke of East Roseville has a geographical malady created by the corrupted citizens re-districting commission. His royal majesty has a throne room some 500 yards to the west of a boundary on a map…

The Duchess, however is located properly within her new kingdom as political feudalism shone brightly on her.

This is where the Duke’s delimma comes in. The Duke is running against the Country Preacher from Anderson, CA for a new kingdom – but the Duke could remain in his current kingdom as Doug LaMalfa is expected to vacate his own throne to move up to Washington D.C. fairly easily.

The Duke however, has grown increasingly isolated and risk averse as his reign has continued over the years. He must have missed the memo from the armory about the new order in Northern California as the duke is immune to reason. He is dead set on moving out of his palace in to another palace – leaving the duchess and their children behind to pursue the new kingdom he craves.

Will they be visiting the archbishop for an annulment?

After all the duchess said in public that she didn’t want the Duke to move, but if he did, she’d really miss him…

Bonnie Gore is running to replace the Termed-Out John Allard on Roseville City Council. Republicans seem to like her – she used to work for State Senator Rico Oller.

Moderate Republican Carol Garcia is running for re-election. Garcia was not endorsed by the placer GOP the first time she ran as at the time she had only been a Republican for about a year.

Another Democrat-turned-Republican Pauline Rocucci is also running for re-election. Unlike Garcia (who supports republicans for other offices), Rocucci helped Ted Gaines and others exact political revenge on former Supervisor Rocky Rockholm. Instead Rocucci campaigned for labor-union Democrat Jack Duran. ($10,000 from the AFL-CIO for example)

I am still irritated over the Tim Herman vs Sam Cannon race  and everything that was manipulated behind the scenes to manufacture the outcome – but may yet support Carol Garcia. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to speak with her at some point.

It remains to be seen who else will run – everyone is expecting Far-Left Rene Aguilera to file as it is his pattern to do so in off years from his school board seat. Aguliera is on the Placer County Democrat Central Committee.

Roseville City School District

Rumor is that Susan Goto, in her 80’s will retire.

Extreme Left Homosexual Activist Gary Miller (and Dem Cent Com member) is up for re-election.

As with Roseville City Council – Republican options seem to be limited at this time. Any Republican interested in running – please contact the Placer CRA at www.placer-cra.org

Roseville Joint Union High School District:

Jan Pinney and Gary Genzlinger look to both be retiring.

Teacher’s union darling and proponent of the 55% Parcel Tax Bill Paige Stauss is intending to run for re-election.

No One has stepped up yet from any camp.

Eureka Joint Union School District –

Both Republican Incumbents look to be running for re-election. The Teacher’s Union wants the reserves of the district badly for pay increases – will they recruit candidates?

Sup District 4 – Kirk Uhler is going to be covered extensively and separately.

The source of this information is impeccable.

What has been rumored for years is going to happen – Wally Herger is retiring tomorrow (1/10/2012) and Doug LaMalfa is going to declare for Congress.

You read it here first.

There have been a series of insider movements over the last 24-72 hours that give serious credence to this post.

Rocklin Race Update Continued

I already declared war on Camille Maben if she runs for re-election.

Greg Dailey is going to run for re-election to the Rocklin School Board. Recently, when Camille Maben’s friends were trying to get districts to take resolutions in support of an initiative to lower the threshold for Parcel Taxes to 55% (like happened with school bonds) Greg as board chair refused to agendize the issue.

Good job, Greg!

Here’s what I know about Rocklin City Council:

Dave Butler – immediate past Rocklin Chamber President, is in the race. He is a Republican that used to work for Tim Leslie.
Greg Janda – Businessman who finished 3rd last time, is also in the race. I am publicly supporting Greg.

Brett Storey – incumbent is retiring.
Peter Hill – incumbent is retiring by several accounts relayed to me
George Magnussen – is unpredictible, but is also expected to retire due to health concerns, and recent comments made by him indicate that he is thinking along those lines.

That being said – Rocklin Planning Commissioner Greg McKenzie is being pushed by political insiders, consultants and others. What I know of McKenzie is that he used to work for Pete Wilson. (ouch) I am sure I will talk to him soon to find out more.

Maria Trunzo is out, Bill Halldin is staying put at Sierra College, Paul Ruhkala is out.

This concludes the January Update for Rocklin.
