Some months ago, I was told of Chad Mayes saying, “Man I am so tired, I was at Bruno Mars last night…”

I suppose Chad Mayes is having a spectacular Mid-Life Crisis (google Narcissistic Rage for a clinical explanation). It has all the makings, an affair, fits of rage, a search for relevance and hearkening back to High School antics.

Now – you can join his Mid Life Crisis with the queen of Trump hate herself – Katy Perry. Nothing in politics happens by accident. Given that his staff, consultants and enablers are using social media on an almost daily basis to assert their authoritah over the rank-and-file Trump-supporting Republican base to remind them how wrong they are, you can draw no other conclusion that is a nexus for this event.

I am sure several of Chad Mayes’ enablers – see also donors, lobbyists, etc. will be there checks in hand to remind Chad of how right he was and how mean all those little people were for revolting.

If this is not enough – try this on for size. It is rumored and widely known in Sacramento that Anthony Rendon, the democrat Majority Leader (aka speaker) of the Assembly has given an order:

No credible democrat is to run against the Cap and Trade Republicans. If this is true, this is a serious boost to Marc Steinorth. It would also explain why Catherine Baker and Jordan Cunningham appear to have drawn no dem opposition. Since Rocky Chavez, Heath Flora, Devon Mathis and Chad Mayes are all in “safe” districts, a dem filing may not matter unless there are enough angry Republicans to vote for the real thing versus any of them. (Note: Devon Mathis will lose his primary to the Mayor of Viaslia, that is a prediction that we are solidifying and repeating)

With alleged polling showing every last one of these folks vulnerable to the right challenger in their area, it stands to reason why they would pledge allegiance to Rendon. It also informs us as to why Rendon has issued this edict (if indeed my two former dem legislators and one high-ranking union rep source are correct).

Then add the rumor I dropped last week about uncle moonbeam running a $5MM independent expenditure in support of the #capandtraitors and you have the full picture.

If you are part of the Cap and Trade Crew – you, too can join Chad Mayes to see Katy Perry to get away from Donald Trump, Republican Grassroots and bask in the glow of the burgeoning ecotopia known as California.

I will repeat my analogy that having Chad Mayes in Republican Leadership is like inviting Michael Jackson to your son’s slumber party. Someone is going to get violated repeatedly and given the pattern of Mr. Mayes (see also Narcissistic Rage) this pattern will continue until Gary Jeandron or Andrew Kotyuk dispatches him at the ballot box. Brian Dahle should remove him with extreme prejudice immediately and let the rest of us clean up the mess.

Google Narcissistic Personality Disorder and then compare it to Chad Mayes’ behavior once he orchestrated the Cap and Trade debacle. He is following a classic pattern.

Greg Wallis – who works for Chad Mayes is featured here tweeting criticism of Kevin McCarthy. Yes, Wallis (Mayes Staff) is slamming the moderate Republican icon for saying “My advice for Assembly members in Sacramento: You will not win the majority by thinking you can be Democrat lite” . This was the most used quote in the drive-by media from McCarthy’s speech at the CAGOP.

Apparenly, Mayes and his minions were triggered yet again. Young Mr. Wallis decided to reference the sliding republican numbers in office as a counter argument, suggesting that only Chad Mayes and selling out on Cap and Trade, Abortion, Taxes, Spending, Bonds, Bullet Trains and the like is the way to the electoral promised land for the California GOP.

Narcissists are constitutionally incapable of seeing their own faults. They are unable to comprehend when they are wrong. Chad Mayes truly believes that everyone else is wrong and is in the middle of what I have described as a Narcissistic Rage.

His temper tantrum was made worse as the fractured and petrified Assembly Republican Caucus could not muster the courage to expel him from leadership. Currently Mayes sits as “assistant leader” in the CAGOP Caucus. This has probably reinforced in Mr. Mayes mind how right he is. You can not deal with a true narcissist, you have to run them over with a truck (figuratively) and literally eviscerate them. That requires courage.

Mayes for his part has been tweeting incessant criticism of everything Republican since his reign of terror as Republican Leader ended two weeks later than it should have. He attempted to decimate fundraising agreements, shoved Assembly member Melissa Melendez in to the doghouse, stripped others of committee assignments and the like. While the drama of his ouster was unfolding, he was bullying people at events, yelling at others on the phone while raising tons of money from his real masters in the California Swamp.

Now that Mayes has gotten his 500,000 pieces of silver, he is repaying everyone for their loyalty by talking openly about running for Governor. The money he raised was for Assembly, the donors wanted him there to continue voting for their tax increases, corporate welfare and the like.

Note the timing of the story from Mayes, Friday. This was the start of the CAGOP Convention. There were a hail of tweets from disgruntled staffers over the course of the weekend attacking Steve Bannon, the CAGOP and others.

I received a call yesterday from a very well sourced political consultant friend that Chad Mayes has retained an out of state consultant to run his Governor Campaign. The individual had never heard of the consultant and did not write down the name.

That said, the pattern is consistent – Mayes is hellbent to be right. He reminds me of Tom Hudson. Mayes will destroy himself and everyone else around him in his rage over the deep-seeded sense of violation he is feeling.

I had told several people I did not think Chad Mayes would stay a Republican. He won’t. Even though Joe Justin runs Chad’s social media himself, Joe’s posts on behalf of Chad are accurate representations of Chad’s view of the world. The above article from Capitol Public Radio should be a further entree in to the mind of Mayes.

If you track the political “development” of Nathan Fletcher in San Diego (ironically, he spoke at the SD County Dem Convention this past weekend), they are tracking similarly. Both had affairs with Assembly members as an added bonus. While Chad Mayes’ flame-out has been more widespread – the basic building blocks of a self-centered political metamorphosis are there.

Mayes will run for Governor because he knows he will lose AD42, then he will blame the GOP for his defeat(s) and will thusly leave the GOP. His rampage won’t stop at trying to split GOP Votes to help John Chiang or Antonio Suave in to the runoff against Gay Marriage Gavin, he will find other offices to run for as a democrat in later cycles.

Chad Mayes has basically abandoned his partners in #CapandTrade, Marc Steinorth and Devon Mathis, both of whom are in serious political trouble. Again, following the pattern, Chad is looking out for Chad and must not believe the rumored $5MM+ independent expenditure to support the 6 traitors on the ballot in 2018 is not real.

Every day I am reminded that Narcissism is alive and well in the body politic. I have written before that I believe Chad Mayes is a classic Narcissist.

Chad Mayes is constitutionally incapable of grasping that he screwed up.

He is also constitutionally incapable of grasping that people want him out of office.

So, we get tweets like this where he seeks to lecture the leadership of the California Republican Party about Steve Bannon.

Mr. Mayes demonstrates repeatedly that he is indeed tone deaf to the Republican Party Platform. Worse, these tweets show that he still thinks he is right and everyone else is wrong. You can not deal with someone this intransigent. He is going to repeat to everyone that the way to the promised land is for the GOP to adopt democrat party policy positions in order to be relevant again.

He has other tweets where he is interacting with the former governor who was the author of AB32, which has caused massive hikes in energy costs, with more coming in 2018 courtesy of un-elected boards created by it.

The problem is how far do you move the GOP Tent to the left before it becomes synonymous with the dems?

The Al Moncada at the bottom of the second set of tweets is an open borders advocate whose limited social media presence is dedicated to attacking President Trump.

The NB in the middle holds himself out as an employee of the CMA (California Medical Association). The NB may be Nick Bertcil who is on the CMA’s website. The California Medical Association is a left-leaning group that lobbies for government money in to the health care industry. They frequently endorse socialized medicine type bills, etc. The people they seem to resent would characterize them as part of the swamp.

Note that Nick Bertcil tagged Joe Justin in his tweet. As we’ve asserted here many times, Justin was an architect of the Cap and Trade deal that ignited Chad Mayes removal as Assembly GOP Leader. You may also recall Joe Justin’s social media profile picture featuring an Obama deadhead shirt.

Kevin Spillane – whose tweet was re-tweeted basically calls the CAGOP leadership racist along with Sheriff Joe Arpaio – has been a left-leaning Republican Political Consultant for years. I’ve known him to work on the campaigns of democrats as well. It is clear Mr. Spillaine was a big loser when Chad Mayes was demoted and has been on a rampage of his own.

Jimmy Camp is a former Republican Consultant who used to run ground operations in targeted GOP Races. In 2008, he publicly stated that he voted for Obama, yet still got work as a GOP Consultant for years after. In 2016, he once against left the GOP because President Trump won the primary.

These are the folks backing up Mr. Mayes and Mayes continues to struggle for relevance.

What this exercise tells me is that even though it feels like Chad was able to “win” by getting good committee assignments and “assistant leader” title, that his nearly psychotic ego has been deeply injured.

Chad Mayes is on the ballot in 2018. I do believe that anyone with the wherewithall needs to donate to the candidate you believe can unseat him and if possible participate in the effort of said candidate. The only way the consultants, lobbyists and people like mayes will learn is by losing.

Even then, if Chad Mayes loses, folks like these will blame an inflexible GOP, blah, blah, blah. When people are unreachable, they need to be removed. In a couple days, before the coming CAGOP Convention, I will have some more to say about Republican Values and why they actually matter – even in a state like California.

SOJ:

There is a lawsuit working its’ way through the courts related to due process for the State of Jefferson. It appears that they are getting their way on some preliminary motions. This is good news for that long shot effort.

Nothing grassroots is without controversy. It appears there is an offshoot of SOJ, called CCR. They are having their own meetings and are basically bad-mouthing the SOJ side of things. It is too bad there is not unity in the SOJ effort.

BTW – any rumors of Steven Baird and Terry Rapoza being at odds were also dispelled as I was sent photos of them together at the last SOJ meeting.

As of this time, I remain a supporter of State of Jefferson / SOJ movement.

Prop 14:

I received an email from some former Assembly / Senate Leaders urging delegates to the CAGOP to continue supporting Prop 14, because Prop 14 is costing Labor Unions a ton of money in elections. Mind you, the current Assembly Minority Leader is a tyrant that most in the rank-and-file GOP dislike… so invoking leaders may not have been a wise strategy. Secondly, one such leader invoked was George Plescia. Mr. Plescia lives in Arizona and has for several years, meaning he’s never been in CA for a Prop-14 affected election.

Why people think having no GOP candidates on the fall ballot for statewide offices is a good thing is beyond me. Maybe they all supported the Cap and Trade disaster too? I am befuddled by the logic.

World-famous #NEVERTRUMPER Ron Nehring, who will lead the #NEVERTRUMP effort in 2020 in California responded with an email of his own decimating the argument of the first email. Hopefully that means there will be a floor fight at the CAGOP convention, confusion and those who have spent tons of money trying to control the CAGOP have the same feelings they had when a ton of people went rogue on Chad Mayes. People thinking for themselves is a good thing and we need more of it.

Placer GOP:

I was informed that several tea party / conservative aligned members of the cent com and other volunteers from a similar universe suddenly bailed out on their commitments to work at the Gold Country Fair, leaving the organizers scrambling to find help to fill slots. I am not sure how this helps register Republican voters, elects conservatives and the like. What do I know? I am just an attack blogger.

While I take turns taking shots at people who deserve them, I also try to provide balance. In this case, the legislative staffers on the Placer GOP Cent Com did the right thing by helping with the effort at the Gold Country Fair.

There is a lot of residual bad blood, however related to the 2012 and 2016 efforts to spend a ton of money on the outcome of the Placer GOP Cent Com race. As I have written before, said efforts were directed by Senator Jim Nielsen’s Chief of Staff (please note while working as an independent consultant outside of his duties in the State Senate) David Stafford Reade. People like Landon Wolf and others that work for legislators end up bearing the brunt of the ill will from said effort due to their proximity to folks like Reade and others that earn large amounts of consulting fees for their participation in these efforts. It is what it is.

Given that most of those staffers have never met me, yet glare at me from across the room, (think about what Reade and others may have told them about this meanie blogger or others on the opposite side of them) I can’t say that I 100% disagree with the “resistance” on the Placer GOP Cent Com. Legislative staff are rarely activists and are never independent. It is simply impossible.

That said, I expect to be endorsing many of the “resistance” all over the state and attempting to help them simply because the amount of money being spent to control the state party (and subsequently shrink it, to make it easier to control) is dead wrong. After seeing how difficult the drill against Chad Mayes was to run, I’ve drawn the conclusion that there needs to be a house-cleaning of party leadership with a few exceptions.

OC GOP:

There is an event featuring Mike Pence tomorrow in Beverly Hills to raise gobs of money for targeted GOP Congressmembers. I hope it goes well, as I have heard mixed reports about the interest level in it. I’ve also heard that most of the CAGOP Congressional Delegation have convinced themselves that the sky is falling and they are all going to be hunted down. I seriously doubt any seats change hands until the next sham citizens redistricting commission meets and draws the GOP in to oblivion.

Tyler Diep, one of my newly minted favorite tackle dummies, had an event last night in Orange County. A lot of luminaries were there. It was his kick-off as young Tyler is expecting a coronation. I intend to help inform people that Tyler is a disaster, at least that is what I think of him, and when I am done many others will also.

There is a neat aside out of this is the angling and posturing to replace Dana Rohrabacher. It has been put to this blogger that one or more recognizable names in OC were being rather chummy with some of OC’s favorite liberals. Further, some of them appear to be just fine with the concept of Rohrabacher being unseated by a democrat in order to open up the seat. When I have on the record sources, I will name names and their actions publicly in hopes that the OC GOP Establishment continue shedding their fealty to incumbents in favor of doing the right thing.

I think it is safe to assume that those conspiring to help elect a democrat over Rohrabacher were part of the thousands of #NEVERTRUMP nimrods that helped Hitlary win the OC by a significant margin in 2016. They should just get out of the GOP now, and join Chad Mayes in a leper colony.

Speaking of Chad Mayes:

Mr Mayes has raked in a ton of PAC Money. We like to refer to this is his 30 pieces of silver. Be sure to scroll pages in the link so you understand why Mr. Mayes delusions of perfection run so deep.

It is indeed clear that Mayes believes he is bullet-proof for re-election as he can call his PAC Donor Masters and cash in for his behavior.

Mayes has been on a Narcissistic Rage on his way out the door. It has become clear to this blogger that in addition to stripping opponents of their committee assignments and offices, he has also been on a rampage against donors to the California Republican Party. The goal is to punish the disloyal, because he is right and they are all wrong. This is the behavior of a tyrant and a narcissist.

His grotesque arrogance was on display at the CAGOP board meeting this past weekend. Multiple accounts indicate that Mayes was boastfully telling the board that the party would raise no more than $200k a year. It was also clear to those paying attention that he was the cause.

Because the Assembly Repubicans lacked the courage to vacate the chair, they are all left with the consequences as the Narcissist is meeting out revenge on everyone. This sort of failure to lead is what gave these very people who despise President Trump, President Trump.

Speaking of Narcissists and #NEVERTRUMPERS, Kristen Olsen – who like Chad Mayes has never acknowledged anything she has done wrong and like Chad Mayes is incapable of seeing her own faults – has made it clear she is staying on as Vice Chair of the California Republican Party. She ran the meeting on Saturday during a couple periods of Jim Brulte’s absence. She has also appeared at at least one county party event and people in Stanislaus County have told me that she brazenly has gone back to her church seemingly immune to the Church’s desire to see her leave or anything regarding her affair with Mayes and its’ effect on the community there. This is the classic behavior of Narcissism, something people screamed about with Obama for years.

In case you have not had enough drama and bad news, the Democrats are already busy screwing business in the wake of Chad Mayes’ Cap and Trade Deal. (Remember, it is all about him so he can own it every time stuff like this happens.)

According to the Sacramento BS, the democrats chose the labor unions over left-wing poster child company Tesla. This is a repudiation of everything Chad told us about the “deal” done related to Cap and Trade. This bill is designed to force Tesla to unionize, the exact sort of anti-business crap Chad Mayes told us his sell-out would prevent. The Narcissist was wrong, lied or did both.

My summary on facebook of this was as follows:

#1 Tesla gets screwed (see also Elon Musk, a left-wing Trump hater) #2 Chad Mayes looks like an even bigger idiot/narcissist than he already is as this validates the criticisms of us little people against “His Deal” (because, remember, it is all about him). #3 Labor Unions > Environment in the Dem Party – confirming who their daddy is.

These updates will continue as events warrant.

Anyone who has been in politics for any length of time knows politics is an ego game. When you add buckets of big donor money, you get a frustratingly bizarre metric that people outside struggle to understand.

I’ve also watched a simultaneous social media driven degradation of volunteer politics to the point where it has been rendered useless and ineffective.

This is why you need to look below the surface of what happened yesterday and the news reports to understand the underlying meaning of what happened.

The Media only reported there were 10 (out of 25) votes to “Vacate the Chair”. What they did not report is that there were as many as 8 Abstentions (some say 2). Other outlets reported 11-14. AS we get more information, the media did not even report the motion correctly, it was a motion to CONSIDER Vacating or hold the election later. Hold the election later carried. This is clear evidence that liberal media supports Chad Mayes.

The motion to vacate requires an “absolute majority” of 13 in order to carry. This means that an abstention is like voting no.

So, why abstain? It is to send a message that you do not support Chad Mayes for Assembly Minority Leader, yet oppose a “coup”. (Remember, this is their thinking, not mine)

Now do the math. No matter what there are more than 13 when you total up the Yes votes and abstentions.

There was no obligation to schedule a leadership vote for next Tue. If Chad Mayes was secure in his position, then they would have just driven on.

The question becomes, is it Jay Obernolte? Is it Melissa Melendez? Or will it be Vince Fong (who reportedly joined other Mayes opponents in abstaining)? Or will Chad think that the result of yesterday means he still has the votes to stay put?

The donors and “Third House” community reputedly love Chad Mayes and this metric was one of his strongest anchors to power. I’ve been told that repeatedly by several people and some of his hardest defenders tell me that the only function of a Permanent Minority Leader is raising money and Mayes does that well.

Knowing the breed as I do, they were trying to split the baby and figure out some way to let Mr. Mayes down easy, because it is clear he won’t resign (see also my psychoanalysis of him). The Republican leadership avoid conflict at all costs syndrome is at play here once again. They don’t want to shoot him politically.

In the backdrop of this – Kings and Calaveras County Joined in the call for resignation. Also in the backdrop of all of this, the wishes of the party and grassroots seemed to be subordinated to the desire to maintain the sick dynamic of Sacramento. We’ve learned that the members of the legislature do not fear the county parties, the state party or the grassroots.

While it is clear to me that Mr. Mayes is done as Permanent Minority Leader next week, it is also clear to me that the Party itself is no longer effective.

I wrote a 5-post series entitled “Burning Down the California Republican Party”, it was a primer on effective leadership and grassroots organizing.

Feedback I received from deep inside the building indicated that the members received few, if any phone calls. The overwhelming majority of the communication was email, with still more via facebook. We may as well have been standing on street corners waiving campaign signs and attending a meaningless rally at the capitol.

While I am irritated at people like Phillip Chen and Kevin Kiley for reputedly abstaining rather than voting to vacate the chair (or whatever actual motion was made), after a night to sleep on it, I am not angry. I get it. I get their reasoning, and I understand the team failure that necessitated their decision in their mind. I personally would swing the sword (imagine that). I do believe that those two along with a few others will vote for leadership change next week.

Were the Grassroots more effective, we’d have toppled Chad Mayes outright last night and would not be in a position were we have to sustain an attack for another 7 days in order to ensure that Chad Mayes is not pulling another dirty trick. (deceptive tweets, lying to party officials, lying to constituents, shutting down official email accounts, bullying volunteers, throwing Melendez in the Dog House, running a drill to avoid leadership votes in caucus and the like…)

Think it through folks. If we don’t learn a lesson for ourselves (aka us little people) out of this mess, we will succeed in de-throning Chad Mayes, but will be in the same morass that we were in before our ineffectiveness and their lack of fear of us contributed to their decision to run Cap and Trade in the first place.
