FAIR OAKS — Longtime Sacramento area business leader and former Assemblyman Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks) has endorsed small business owner Bill Halldin for California’s 6th Assembly district.

“Bill is a successful business owner, with deep knowledge and experience in our region,” Mr. Niello said. “He is exactly the kind of leader we need in Sacramento to improve the business climate in this state and create jobs.”

Mr. Niello has long been one of the Sacramento region’s leading advocates for business, serving on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors from 1999 until 2004, when he was elected to the first of three terms in the State Assembly. Mr. Niello is a Past President of the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and served as CEO of the organization after leaving the Legislature.

Mr. Niello joins more than 50 elected officials, former Republican U.S. Rep. Doug Ose, the Roseville Chamber of Commerce PAC, the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce PAC and the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce PAC in supporting Halldin’s conservative campaign for Assembly.

“Throughout his career in business and public service, Roger Niello has set a high standard for putting the interests of our community and our state first,” Halldin said. “I am honored to have his support and will work to follow his example in serving our region.”

Mr. Niello represented a significant part of Assembly District 6 during his time in the Legislature. Assembly District 6 now includes the Sacramento County communities of Orangevale, Fair Oaks and Folsom, the Placer County communities of Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Loomis, Penryn, Newcastle and Sheridan and the El Dorado County communities of El Dorado Hills, Latrobe and Cameron Park. District 6 is currently represented by Beth Gaines, who is not seeking re-election due to term limits.
