The source of this information is impeccable.

What has been rumored for years is going to happen – Wally Herger is retiring tomorrow (1/10/2012) and Doug LaMalfa is going to declare for Congress.

You read it here first.

There have been a series of insider movements over the last 24-72 hours that give serious credence to this post.

  1. Funny how some folks say one thing and do another…

Back in 2010, Doug asked me to stamp out any rumors that he might be running for congress in 2012. He said he owed it to voters to complete his term in the state senate, which expires in 2014. He said he didn’t want folks thinking he was using his state senate seat simply as a stepping stone to congress.

Guess all that’s changed now if he comes out and officially announces today that he’s running for congress.

Suppose that’s what makes me different from Doug. I say what I mean and mean what I say.

  2. It looks like Doug Lamalfa is going to let the people in the North state down and not finish his term in the Senate. Could one could call him a Quicker? Is this the type of person you would one in office? I think NOT!

  4. I think he will not finish his term.:(

  5. Another Sarah Palin, do not complete your comittment! Doesn’t matter that a elected officical receives subsidaries to the tune of $161,578.00? In a time when it has been obvious that entitlements if they were to be cut, perhaps education would not have to be forced to take so many large cuts? How about doing something for California. .other than work on the focus of the bullet train. . how about. .let’s deregulate some of the legislation that is a job killer in California. California is the most unfriendly state in the union to do business in! Specifically in recent months LaMalfa was asked face to face if he was going to consider Herger’s seat if Herger were to retire, his honest reply was NO! So with Wally’s endorsement, does that put some big $$ in LaMalfa’s kitty? You betcha! Sounds like the good ole boy story of same ole same ole. ..don’t trust what a Politician has to say. . it only matter’s of what they do or don’t do! Missing in action for the true needs of the people! Good bye Wally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. This has been a long time coming. It has never been Herger’s choice whether or not he remained in office. As with Obama, Herger has been the face of those who pull the strings within his party’s establishment. He was, for want of a kinder term, their ‘useful idiot.’ The same establishment which protected Herger for too long, which created a public gravitas he could never live up to in person, which handled all his campaigns and PRs, were the same ones who fired him. They are the same crowd who will be controlling LaMalfa. Let’s see how long LaMalfa can be their golden boy before too many constituents figure out that he, also, was just a created image of something he never was.

  7. I believe Doug LaMalfa will make a great Congressman. I do not believe he is breaking his committment to the people of the 4th Senate District. The ones who changed the district lines are the ones who broke committments. The fourth Senate today, is not what it was when the Senator last ran. I know, I was in LaMalfa’s district two years ago, but am in a different Senate district now. I have a Senator I did not get to vote for or against.

  8. What I know about Doug LaMalfa is that he will be a good Vote in Congress. However, in the district and in internal GOP issues – he will endorse Moderates and Moderate positions a la Kevin McCarthy. (who he is close to)
