Channeling John Kerry – but now that her majesty needs to appear American and not french, she is finding a uniform or two for her latest ads.
The Ad buy – a staggering $2million is an attempt to make Boxer seem human again vs like drucilla. Quoting from her voting record and a recent LA Slime article:
“Boxer has said she opposed the 2003 emergency spending bill that boosted money for equipment like body armor because provisions had been removed that ‘would have made a difference’ in altering U.S. strategy in Iraq, a war she opposed. Her aides point out that several days earlier, she voted for a Democratic amendment that would have increased funding for body armor.”
Making a political point and casting a vote to reiterate her opposition to the war was ultimately more important to Boxer than protecting the troops. That’s the bottom line, and as Joe Biden said in 2007 in relation to a very similar vote where Boxer again voted against funding, “there’s no political point worth anybody’s life.”
Joe Biden? Did Obama pick an honest Commie for his VP? Maybe Biden’s hoof-in-mouth syndrome is because he tells the truth?
In 2007, Then-Sen. Joe Biden Attacked Democrats For Opposing Funding For The Troops, Noting That “There’s No Political Point Worth Anybody’s Life Out There.” BIDEN: “So what did some of my colleagues say about why they voted against the money? They said they voted against the money to make a political point. There’s no political point worth my son’s life. There’s no political point worth anybody’s life out there.” (Sen. Joe Biden, Remarks At The Iowa State Fair, Des Moines, IA, 8/15/07)
But the honest Senator-turned-veep said some more on National TV
BIDEN: “I want to ask any of my other colleagues, would they, in fact, vote to cut off the money for those troops to protect them? That’s the right question. This isn’t cutting off the war. This is cutting off support that will save the lives of thousands of American troops.” (NBC’s “Meet The Press,” 9/9/07)
This is one of the many reasons why it sucks to be Barbara Boxer – the light is getting shone on her true essence. (Call the South Placer Municipal Utility District for disposal)
In 2007, Boxer Was One Of Only 14 Senators To Vote Against Supplemental Funding For The War In Iraq And Afghanistan. (H.R. 2206, CQ Vote #181: Passed 80-14: R 42-3; D 37-10; I 1-1, 5/24/07, Boxer Voted Nay and Feinstein Voted Yea)
In 2003, Boxer Was One Of Just 12 Senators To Oppose The $87 Billion Supplemental Appropriation For The Reconstruction Of Iraq And Afghanistan; The Bill Included Funding For Body Armor And Communications Equipment For The Troops. (S. 1689, CQ Vote #400: Passed 87-12: R 50-0; D 37-11; I 0-1, 10/17/03, Boxer Voted Nay and Feinstein Voted Yea; “Highlights Of Iraq, Afghanistan Measures,” The Associated Press, 10/17/03)
Even Max Cleland can’t defend this record.
